Nina and G.I. Robot are my favorites!
The bride is absolutely one of the best things currently in the show.
I would like Clayface to fight Batman in a movie
I watched the three first episodes on the airplane today. I downloaded them from HBO at home and now i,m hooked. I also read a Creature Commando's trade paperback.
Love the episode I didn't know much of gi robot and I like the Sgt rock connection
The Clayface and Dynamic Duo confirmed movies are super interesting to me. James Gunn said he won't greenlight a project until the script is a banger. The Clayface screenplay by Mike Flanagan must have blown him away for it to start shooting next year. If Mike Flanagan himself can't direct the movie, I would like if either James Wan or Scott Derrickson to take the helm.
Pretty wild how we’re getting a clayface movie before green arrow, black canary, Martian manhunter, zatanna, etc. Not exactly complaining, but still pretty wild.
I loved this episode, and I loved GI Robot!!! He better not be permanently dead, I fell in love with his character over the first three episodes. If he is dead, At least we'll get to see more of him if that Easy Company movie gets made, so I can take some solace in that. CHEERS TO THE TIN MAN!
i am so exited to see Jason and dick act like brothers
M:O
Great video, I'd love for you to make a video about Circe in CC since I don't know too much about (really only from the Greg Rucka run and the Absolute run) her but her getting beaten by freaking weasel seems a bit weird for me, I'd love t hear your thoughts on that.
I was blown away to see Little Sure Shot in this episode. I’m happy to see a Native this early in the DCU! And even more excited about the possibility of Luca Gudagnino working with an Indigenosu actor.
I don't think I don't believe so dynamic duel makes that release date.
Your videos are a breath of fresh air regarding the DCU🙂↕️ DC is back
I would honestly love to see Phil Tippett get involved with the art direction and production of some of the more horror based DC films like Clayface and especially Swamp Thing I recommend looking at clips of the animated film Mad God to see what I mean. He’s perfect for it and would make an amazing Swamp Thing design!
Maybe Mike could also do a Superman sequel
Even after beating Lady Shiva she'll still not making the top 5 fighters 😂 You got Karate Kid and Bronze Tiger who are THE Martial Arts gods. They're 1 and 2 interchangeably. And then you can throw Batman, Black Bat (Cass) and Black Adam. Yes Black Adam. People who read his issue where he fought and absolutely decimated Batman without using his powers would know what I'm talking about.
Go Read Some Comics with Jenna.....I'm actually excited for both films because they're like seemingly two very different kinds of films within the same superhero universe and in Gotham City overseen by the brilliant, amazing shockingly versatile James Gunn! Clayface and written by Flanagan has me even more hyped for Andy Muschietti's Brave and the Bold and ever since first seeing IT back in 2017 that madman directing a Batman movie has been one of my deepest, greatest dreams and not only has Gunn made that dream a reality but he's welcoming a villain spinoff film written by one of the best horror masters today.....about one of the best comic book villains ever who is also gonna be appearing over the next few weeks . And it is about that same specific iteration that Flanagan is writing! Meanwhile, Dynamic Duo is a kids animation that supposedly will feature Jason Bourne-like action scenes!!!! SIGN ME UP! I could not be anymore excited about this DCU!
Would love to hear your thoughts on the new marvel ultimate universe!
I think they’ll make us sympathize with Basil in the film. I mean, he’s a really tragic villain just like everyone else in Batman’s Rouge Gallery. Although he’ll be easy to sympathize with, he’ll still keep his villainous status (like Penguin) I feel.
SHAGGY MAN IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE VILLAIN OMFGGGGG
I’m very interested to see where the Dynamic Duo movie ends up in terms of DCU canon and about the plot details. The current summary is super vague so it could go a million different ways
You convinced on the clayface movie! Love the channel!
I have a feeling that the Clayface movie will give off some major "The Substance" vibes. I've been thinking about that movie a lot lately, and I think that's the direction it should go in.
I love him so much, I want him to be my next tattoo. He's definitely not dead, I wonder if they'll change his design
Oh man, don’t tempt me to get a tattoo of him too!
If you do, make sure he's smiling because he's doing what he loves lol
I mean I was really hoping Mike Flanagan's next movie would be the nutcracker but just the rat parts but I'll take this
Cheers for the Tin Man! Loved the metaphor for being a soldier and bawled my eyes out when he started growing cobwebs in the jail cell. I'm so glad my friend who's a veteran is doing well. I guess because the Bride survived her flashback episode, I was naive in thinking GI would survive too. But GI Robot was a soldier. A soldier does his duty and serves his purpose, and the narrative was done with him. I can't believe how much I cared about him after such a short time. Reminds me a bit of Alice the protection witch in Agatha All Along.
Loved the content! Super informative, and you're fun with explaining stuff/giving your opinions, definitely gonna subscribe. And always nice to have safe spaces in the comic community where you can engage with the community without worrying about the alt-right jerks.
Also, Will Magnus should be bullied for not knowing about Rock and the Easy Company.
I loved how they represented the friendship between GI Robot and Nina. It showed that GI genuinely cared for Nina despite her being outside of his main directive.
Love GI Robot so damn much 😂need him and Nina together
As a Circe/Wonder Woman fan, I didn't love what we did with her but I'm happy for the old GI Robot fans. Yall played the long game but are eating well lol
I just love what James Gunn is doing. DC is more than just superheroes and I’m glad we’re finally showing the world.
so glad to landed here (thanks to James) i found another great channel that discuss comics, i absolutely loved your videos, the presentation and the way you explain it,, had me locked in the entire video. i can't wait to see more content from you and just letting you know you got one more person support here, all the best Jenna, cheers for this channel and to the tin man!
3:56 Really reminds me of Evangelion. Gonna develop the head cannon that Anno came up with Eva after reading GI Robot comics.
Just watched James Gunns recap of Episode 3. Man I didn't know that the Dr. That studied G.I Robot was the creator of the Metal Men team! Great set up for future film and team build up.
GI Robot's coming back -- I hope. Great video and analysis.
Dinosaurs were in the lastest Crisis on Infinite Earths movie too
For Nina's sake, I hope we can fix G.I. Robot (I don't buy that he's gone, because robots are pretty damn unkillable). I didn't cry like I did with Rogue and Gambit in X-Men '97... but that last moment between Nina and G.I. Robot had the same feel (both ended on the tearful ragged breaths of Nina and Rogue as they cradled what was left of their sacrificial fellas) 🤖
Im glad you do these videos for this series cause i literally cannot watch the show where i live due to the streaming service not being available in my country
So the misunderstood misfit that society labeled as bad guy but in reality is a good guy is James Gunn's bread and butter writing choice but something about G.I. Robot hits so different. All his flashbacks consist of people treating him like he's more than just a mindless Nazi killing drone, meanwhile all G.I. wants is to be exactly that, his big payoff moment of catharsis is to do the thing he's programmed to do and ultimately his death(?) is Circe just blowing him up and everyone but Nina shrugs him off immediately. It's almost like G.I. Robot's resolution is that in the end he really was just a robot afterall. Even everyone's talk about how they can just rebuild him or make G.I. Mark 3 unintentionally reinforces the fact that he's a disposable machine. That's not the resolution we're used to with Gunn's characters but that's the reason why his death(?) works so well.
I cried. I think he's dead.
Maybe I’m coping, but I mean- he IS a robot. Robots can be rebuilt. Plus he has a 2 on his helmet, insinuating he is the second G.I robot. Maybe….hopefully…we’ll get our boy back, with a new number 3 helmet.
@JohnDoe-tl4gm This is a world where Superman exists. I'm sure you are correct lol
Cheers to the tin man 😢🍻
He did it again! James Gunn got me emotionally attached to a character in record time - a robot, no less, who's the type of character you wouldn't normally associate with "emotion." Great review and background insights!
This episode was amazing ❤
Jake the GI Robot has gotta be one of my favorite characters of 2024.
GI Robot has been my favorite next to Weasel They can't kill him off :(
I'm really excited for James Gunn's DC Universe. This show just gives me more confidence in him, as he's not scared to show the more obscure or weird side of DC. I can't wait to see batman and all his villains in their classic costumes.
G.I. ROBOT IS BEST BOY
Cheers to Tin Man! Only James Gunn can make me love a character so quickly and then proceed to immediately butcher my heart apart.
I really enjoy your channel and the way you approach media. I'm glad you got recognized by Gunn for that very thing, but more importantly that you believed in your own work to pursue this line of work. Its only up from there, Not Professor!
