The fall foliage has peaked here in Elkader, IA, and we couldn't help see the resemblance between the colors of the Boneyard and the bluff that sits behind it.

Bill and Angela Zimmerman from Peoria, IL worked for Caterpillar for 35 years. On their visit, we learned that Bill helped engineer and test blades and other transmission parts for the first D10 dozer, so we decided to give him a behind the scenes look at a bolt-off refurbishing of one of our D10's.

Caterpillar Diesel 70 Update - Paint

The Diesel 70 has been in the restoration shop for two years now, and we wish to bring you periodic updates on the process. Todd Larson of Ridgeview Paint stopped by to do some of the more detailed painting while bigger parts weren't attached. This allows him to get into small spaces to make sure there is better coverage when they go to do the complete painting once it's all put together. Check...

William Bingman resides in Alaska but frequents the lower 48 now that he's retired. He criss-crosses his way across the country in his RV stopping at any museum he can. 1,600 Miles to Visit

Matt and McKenzie drove 1,600 miles from Washington to take in the machines that helped shape the Earth.
Hello. Long shot question for any of the fine folks at the center. Im a Cat/Holt collector in Southern California. I have a 1922 Holt t35 in restoration at the moment just like the ones in your museum. The green t35 has a pto just like mine, but I am missing a pto pulley. Would there be any chance someone could take a quick measurement of the pulley on the restored t35 serial number 25008? If someone could do that, it would be a humongous help trying to find a comparable size pulley. I also noticed some of Josh Stevensons tractors being displayed there. Very cool additions having a 75 and tailseat best 60. He’s one of the nearer collectors around me.
If you reach out to jbormann@cjmoyna.com, we can get those measurements for you.
Always like to hear a D8 pop off!! But I didn’t know motors ran on gas, thought they liked electricity better 😂 a technicality I know but motors are electric, engines are gas/diesel - thus starting engine or pony engine lol 😉 😂
Hey, you have caught my interest and I will be there in two days but can’t find crap for hotels nearby. Any recommendation?
Looking forward to your visit! The nearest ones we recommend are The Landing in Guttenberg, IA or The Waterfront in Prairie du Chien, WI - both are approx. 20min away. Otherwise if you're looking for something more quiet and quaint here in Elkader, here are some AirBnB style places to stay - elkader-iowa.com/visitors/lodging/
Thanks see you (well the place tomorrow.

How many did they make?
Great question. We are currently looking to update some of our signage, and this is a question we are currently researching. 924 is the number we're finding as of right now.
I really enjoyed the video gang! However less music and music and voice over when the tractor is running would be awesome - let us enjoy the sounds of that old gal! Thanks look forward to part 2
Thanks for the feedback. Maybe we'll post a clip of just the machine running for everyone to enjoy.
Here's the clip you requested :) ua-cam.com/video/MRpvZZduMY4/v-deo.html
