How's it holding up?
What a gorgeous truck! You have done everything right and it looks like a fun truck to drive. Very impressed. Cheers from UK
I came to rewatch your efi vid so I can start putting together my list to efi my 510 and I see this shit. I can't believe it's almost been a decade.
Looks great. Love how clean the interior is too.
Nice car! I remember seeing it at the zip tie drags in Tuscon. I think you had a set of prostars on it.
Excellent video. Thank you
gosh this is perfect, congrats
I want this truck!
You just can't have fun like that in a new truck! 😎👍 Nice!
Hi my name is Chris I’m in the bay area. Just wondering if you still have your truck very nice looking looking right thinking about purchasing.
I am in the process of converting my 79 kingcab to efi and want to go this route, the only thing I can't find confidently is the adapter plate, do you have a part number or link for that?
It was a random part that I found online. I just searched Webber Holley 3200 adapter.
Nice ride
Got a link to the disc break adapter?
He has since stopped making the adapters. I’d look on Ratsun, or the 521 Facebook group. Someone else is probably making them, or better yet a ball joint conversion.
Hey man, I gotta come check out the truck next time I'm down there. I'll bring the 620 or the 510
Come on down!
small part of me misses these days
How to adjust the engine cid value I have a Datsun 521 and I used the same system as you but it won't let me put the correct value 108 is an L18 engine
It tells me that the minimum value is 160 and the maximum is 800 and my engine is 108
I want a 1964 320 datsun truck simple as is ! Thankyou..
Wow this thing is wicked man, great work
Nice sound from a great truck, thanks for sharing it !
I just purchased my 2nd Datsun 521 truck after I so,d my Datsun 620 and this video gave me some inspiration for future build . I like my 1970 Datsun 521 for I would never have to smog it & swap any engine I want later
I noticed you're getting some backfire on deceleration, when you downshifted to exit the freeways. Might that not indicate a vacuum leak or lean out on deceleration issue? Very cool truck and nice custom build!
Dope truck!
Wish I could have gotten a little 521 series truck like this when I was living in Murfreesboro Tennessee. I could have really used it. These little trucks were the very best little trucks you could ever have had, I always loved Datsun/Nissan trucks from back at that time, they ran so well and ran that great.
Wish Datsun/Nissan would start manufacturing these 521 series trucks once again with their fuel efficient 4 cylinder engines in them. Gasoline is going back up to over 6 dollars a gallon, again. We need these small cars and trucks once again back on the roads, and fuel efficient vehicles again, not these 4 door station wagon trucks with wagon wheels and thin tires on them, which are gas guzzlers and are hard to manover around and drive. These smaller trcks and cars with 4 cylinder engines are all ya need.
Pretty Rad! Love the on ramp pulls.
Bring back old cars please
And these 521 series Datsun/Nissan trucks to. Liked the 620 to. What more would ya need than these little cars and trucks that are fuel efficient and save money on gasoline now that gasoline is going all the way back up over 6 dollars a gallon once again.
Fucking sick
Nice update, would be interested if you still have and how it's doing now. Was looking at the 383 and wondering how it does on highway and if it is practical as daily driver type vehicle?
Badass elco!
what was the mod to the distributor, I have a Pertronix conversion done to my l16, would it work for the fitech kit, or what did you use?
I have the same engine, runs great, but leaks oil from multiple places, very disappointed
Was it worth the price?
@@powerband5235 I would say yes, because its price has gone up hundreds since I bought it....and it makes a ton of power. I have it in a 55 Chevy 210 2 door that is really light...and its probably an 11 second car the way it feels to me.
What disc brake conversion you got?
I just picked up a 1970 datsun 521 last night same color. Needs some work. Going to be a fun project
If ONLY I could have gotten one of these little 521 series trucks when I was living in Murfreesboro Tennessee. Really would have loved to get one.
What transmission brotha ? Beautiful truck i have a 69 myself 👍🏼
👍cool truck.
Thanks for sharing all your hard work! Can you tell me what you did for exhaust, was it straight piping or did you put in a muffler?
It has 2” exhaust with a magnaflow.
That thing is PROPER!!
Do i need a different bracket for the maxima alternator , im trying to do what u did since i had to redone all the wire system
I used the lower bracket from the 521.
@@ThePSpack right on thanks
I had a brand new one in 1970, it was my first car, it was Maroon in color, I put 14”/8” wheels on the back with F-70 14” Good Year tires on it, i put 50,000 miles on it in the first year, I could beat 914 Porsches all day with it. I had to trade it in as my 2nd kid was on the way, so I got a 510 Wagon, put 171,000 miles on it, those 1600 Single overhead cam motors were bulletproof.
Should have kept the truck, and gotten the wagon for the wife to use. When your in your own home there, you could still use the truck to make home improvements and haul things around with it.
@@danbasta3677 I did, I got a new 1974 model and gave the wife the wagon, unfortunately after two years a drunk driver hit me head on and totaled it, I'm lucky to be alive.
Can you explain how you did the triple gauges and what you did. That is exactly what I wanna do to my truck.
I wondered about that as those gauges on this truck isn't the original gauges that these trucks had from the dealership.
Love it
dang didnt realize u were in sd haha
So cool 😎
quick question about the blinds in the back window. Are those the units they've got on ebay? My little trucks great in the winter months but I can already tell the desert sun here in NM is gonna be hell through that back window on my neck/ back!
They’re a custom made set that I got from a guy here in San Diego. They’re great for keeping the sun off.
@@ThePSpack you think he'd be willing to make another set? They look great!!!!
Unfortunately I don’t have any contact information for the guy.
@@ThePSpack could you, at your convince, hook me up with a few pics of them, how they attach, etc. I may be able to fab up a set. And are you on ratsun at all?
I’m not on the forum much. I’m in the Facebook group a lot more.
Cool ! Found myself replaying the driving (burrito run) scene 14:50 to 20:16 several times 😀
I love This car 😍
It is a beautiful truck, that's for sure. Wish they were still being made today gasoline is on it's way up to 6 dollars a gallon, again. These little 521 series Datsun/Nissan trucks were really great on gasoline savings.
I fell in love with the looks, the style and the design of the 521 series Datsun truck. Wish they were still being made today.
Miss my 720, I definitely want to snag a 70's truck!
Nice truck. You have to appreciate the simplicity in the old trucks.
Looks good
