So there is more than one church. It would appear that the way the word church was used in revelation is different than the way some people use the word church today and say that there is only one church.

About the author of Revelation: is it true that St John took care of Mary at Ephesus until his exile to Patmos where an angel dictated the book to him and his scribe/servant/slave copied it? We even took a pilgrimage to Patmos and found there is still an Orthodox monastery there and we were able to pray where St John received the words of the book. Is there any truth to this tradition or did we waste our pilgrimage going to Ephasus and Patmos? 😅

Paul's conversion to Christ was not "constant and never-ending." Neither are our conversions. Although the trials of life we go through may often be intended by God to refine us or to strengthen our faith, that process is not salvific. When we read Paul's letters, Peter's letters, and John's letters we see them referring to the believers/followers of Christ as people who already are saints, sanctified, redeemed, elect, etc. John writes to people who know, or should know, that _they have eternal life_ (1 John 5:13). Paul writes in Ephesians 1 that God has (past tense) blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing, that "In him _we have_ (present tense) redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us." Through faith in Christ we "were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory." Of course our full inheritance includes our being united face-to-face with our Lord and our reception of incorruptible physical bodies, and for these things we must wait to "acquire possession." But the right relationship with God has been gifted to us already; through faith in Jesus' propitiation as the full, complete redemption for our debt of sin we who trust in Him have been blessed with every spiritual blessing, for God has counted us fully righteous (Romans 3:20-5:11) and has reconciled us to Himself even while we did not and do not deserve it. That is why "there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ" (Romans 8:1). This video cites Tobit "as an example of how being a devout Catholic means you will be tested by God as a way to heal your sin and the roots of sin." But Jesus Christ already healed our sin by His passion and death on the cross. When one believes that his own sufferings in life help to "heal" or make atonement for his own sins, that person has failed to fully trust in Christ and does not believe in the full, complete efficacy of Christ's propitiatory sacrifice 2000 years ago for that person's sins. Of course, one's sins can have temporal consequences. But if we truly believe in Jesus as our Savior, we are redeemed and the Holy Spirit has spiritually regenerated us when He first began to indwell us as children of God. God's Grace is, by definition, an undeserved *gift* from Him. We cannot merit the giving of more grace by our actions. Once we are saved by grace through faith (not by works, Eph. 2, Gal. 3), the gift of God's grace has been bestowed upon us and we are children of God, so long as we persevere to the end in this faith (trust) in Christ's redemption of us. God does not withdraw His gracious gift from us in response to our failures of sin, even serious sin, "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable" (Rom. 11:29). One who has been spiritually regenerated and counted as His child through faith in Christ would have to apostasize and reject Christ. When one rejects the gift of grace, the gifts of eternal life and of the Holy Spirit who formerly indwelt him, he commits blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (the unforgivable sin) and there can be no further repentance for that person (Hebrews 6:4-6). All other sins can be forgiven, although if a person continues to flagrantly and willfully sin as a part of his lifestyle, he hardens his heart against the Spirit who attempts to guide him, and a calloused heart is more susceptible to apostasizing; this is what makes willful sinning so dangerous. Yet it would be false to assume that one loses his salvation over a single serious sin; is God so fickle with His gift of grace? Of course not. Even when we are unfaithful, God remains faithful, for that is His character and "He cannot deny Himself" (2 Tim. 2:13). When we read in Romans 4 that God justifies (accounts or imputes righteous) those who have living faith in Him, apart from works, we should note that no distinction is drawn between so-called "initial" justification and "final" justification. There is only God's justification, period. Who cooked up this crazy idea that the righteousness which God accounts to the believer is only partially effective or that it is contingent upon the believer's lifetime of works (performance)? Either one is justified or one is not justified; there is no half-way justification from God. What is worse, some deny the truth of Romans 4 entirely by teaching that justification is dispensed through the work of an instrumental means, baptism, _apart from the personal faith requirement specified in Scripture._ Even Peter, when asked what one must do to be saved, specified the need for each one to _repent, _*_and then_*_ to be baptized;_ can an infant hear the Gospel, believe, and repent? Of course not. I'm not advocating for any church denomination. I'm advocating for Jesus Christ; trust with all your heart in Him, and He will never fail you. Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me has eternal life" (John 6:47).

It seems that a big difference between asking God to end your life and suicide, is that by asking God, you are subjecting yourself to his decision. You mentioned Moses, and Elijah, as well as obviously Tobit and Sarah - they asked, but left the ultimate answer up to God
