Ever heard of a band called Bleed The Sky? They have a song called "Leverage" that immediately came to mind listening to various parts of My Dear Rat Kings - and I say that in a good way. I've been listening to a lot of bands under the metal and punk umbrellas for 2 decades now and it always puts a smile on my face when I'm hearing sounds that remind me of what some bands were doing back in the day. The chorus on My Dear Rat Kings in particular has this ambient, grungey kind of feel to it and I think you dudes absolutely stuck the landing there because a) it sounds great, and b) it's something that not a lot of your contemporaries are going for. And the production and mixing here is pristine - everyone is coming through in a clear and polished way with nothing getting lost in any kind of auditory mud. Solid shit all around as far as I'm concerned.
Never heard of those guys, but love end 90’s/start 00’s type of metal. Appreciate the love!
