This video goes through everything you need to revise for the Ghost of Christmas Present in Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. From the quotations to revise using flashcards, what to say about them, and working out Dickens’ message.
Quotations covered in this video:
• “its capacious breast was bare”
• “an antique scabbard; but no sword was in it”
• “bore a glowing torch, in shape not unlike Plenty’s horn”
• “Know me better”
• “Mr Scrooge, the founder of the feast”
• “I see a vacant seat”
• “This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want.”
• “on his brow I see that written which is Doom”
I mentioned in the video that you could take this further. Here are a few ideas I would have covered if I had more time:
• Scenes of happiness at Christmas - Dickens covers people in all sorts of difficult geographies still enjoying Christmas
• Scenes of abundance in shops
• Fred’s happy gathering, and the gentle mocking of Scrooge at the party.
• “a mighty blaze went roaring up the chimney” when Scrooge first appears
• “God bless us everyone” - Tiny Tim is so warm and generous
• “odious, stingy, hard, unfeeling man” Mrs C doesn’t hide her feelings

Nice video mr wood 👌
Thank you!
Please make some Animal Farm videos with quotes and analysis!
Hi there. I'll certainly add it to my to do list!
@@RevisewithMrWood Yes pls! My teachers never bothered teaching any analysis for this text :(
Do you plan on doimg videos for English Lan? They would really help me for this year if you could
Hi there. Yes, I will be doing some in the near future. I've got one that I'm writing on how to explore language at gcse, and one on how to explore structure. Is there anything else you struggle with, so I can try to cover it?
That would be really helpful thank you! It's mostly just how to approach the questions in general it's really confusing to me
@@GreenishPista Just doing a video on language, so look out for that on Monday!
@@RevisewithMrWood Awesome! Can't wait, thank you! :3
Thank you!! please continue posting quotes with analysis for themes for christmas carol and macbeth.your videos are so helpful!
That's really kind of you. Yes, more videos are coming soon, so I hope they'll be helpful too.
😃😃😃nice
It's nice to see you here!
Nice
will you also do a level videos?
Hi there. I'd like to do some in the future. I have got quite a list of things to get through, so no promises it'll be quick! I hope the exams went well.
Thanks mr wood your the best
Thanks for that. You're very kind! Best of luck tomorrow.
plssss do blood brothers
I will, but it won't happen in time for Monday! Follow the same procedures though, choosing the question for more than one character, jotting down themes (social class and inequality. superstition and fate, violence) and bring them into your answer. When you get stuck, remember what to do to get going again. Best of luck!
for 1:18 so if you agree you're answering the question right?
Yes - any combination of agree / disagree is fine.
thanks
I hope it helped!
@@RevisewithMrWood it did!! :)
