A bit of a rumble, but not too bad, surprisingly. It’s a short runway and the climb/descent is steep because of the mountains all around, and you can see the city spreading out to the east of the airport. Almost makes one forget the runway should be repaved. 😊

FYI, the runway will be completely repaired (an Italian company will be in charge) and additional 350 m will added which means total length of the runway will be 3.100 m. The works will start next year apparently.

Thanks! It was an unusually clear day over Amsterdam! And - I also thought it was a neo at first; then I looked up D-AIUH tail number, and everything stated that it’s a regular A320. Apparently, sharklets are offered on all newer A320s as an option.

Hi Jen, from about 0:49 to 3:25 the video is at 2.0x speed. You’re right, otherwise the descent would’ve been a bit scary.

Larry, from what I understand the winglets reduce induced drag, increasing efficiency.
