This song means a lot to me - I wrote it about my dad, and my relationship with the men in my life. I wrote it about masculinity, the whole thing. This song came out very quickly and was very emotional to get out. Currently 105 degrees at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville TX - felt like sitting in the shade and honoring Bob Dylan for his birthday weekend. This was the first song of his that I ever heard and it blew me away... the CHORD PROGRESSION!! Just amazing.

I wrote this one right at the beginning of COVID. I was confused and freaked out like everyone else. I had just learned "Hard Times Come Again No More" written by Stephen Foster in 1854. I was so inspired by the song that I, like many folk singers before me, decided to reinvent the song with my own lyrics and melody. This is what came out! Recorded at PBnJay studios in Scituate, MA.
