Could this be used for dimensional lumber. Would be interesting to be able to build a post and beam home with lumber from reclaimed trees.

I watched with great interest. I worked on the Scott Paper log drive from 1972 to 1976. Did you find any boom logs? Sinkers and dead heads were the worst when driving the rivers and streams (Kennebec, LazyTom, Roach). They were like torpedoes underwater in the current, and would knock you off your feet. It made for some interesting times trying to keep ones feet on the bottom and ones head above water... I bet my great grandfather may have seen some of those old.logs you dragged up. Spencer Bay must have a mother load of wood on the bottom! Your video brought back some good memories from my wayward youth!

Pulled logs from that same spot about 12yrs ago remember that take out location. myself guy from Ny and one local you probably know or heard of.

Questions: how they end up there on the bottom, how long they been (1800s?!)?The water preserves them well?How much is one average large log worth?

Nicely done for a slide show. Guessing this is all legit, there is a lot of illegal log pulling from waters. People think just because there is a log in the water it's free.

That birdseye still fetch a quality price? Back in the 90's with the old-growth shortage that company pulling logs out of lake superior was getting $80 per board foot. ($118 in today's money)

How does he get the logs from the spreader bar/log tongs, to the side of his boat to be tied up? Unless he has the spreader bar tied by rope so he can pull the bar/log to the side. Nice build!

OK, now turn that creativity to the oil&gas folks. Figure out an energy efficient way to use the energy/fuel lost to atmosphere at refineries. I live 2-3 miles from Miss Riv. Refineries that have something burning from high chimneys 24-7-365. Burn lights night sky like endlessly erupting volcano & 4 no one interested in finding use: $ $ $ $ into the clouds. You could be a richer dude!

how many seasons it take to pay off that boat looks very expensive i see people in alot of old logging states doing this water logging now, are the logs worth much money?
