Thank you for visiting my suburban garden. My goal is to show; you can garden anyway you can imagine. Fresh homegrown food doesn't have to be out of reach no matter your budget. I compost to include vermicompost. I collect rain water. I ferment, can, dehydrate, and freeze what I grow, and what I purchase. I appreciate you taking the time to drop in & view my little slice of the world. I hope you enjoy my journey as it's presented. I ask that you be kind and respectful when commenting. Uploads are on Wednesday & Saturday with the occasional random upload depending on what's going on. Happy Gardening to you.😊🫘🌱

If you have Yakult you can use it. You're welcome 😁
Thanks for the potato substitutes! Love lettuces! It sure is hot. Thanks for sharing your fall seeds!
It’s crazy hot. We will be in the 100’a for the next 3 or 4 days. I’m holding off on my lettuce until it cools down some. I do want to have some in the fall garden if I can get it growing. You’re welcome. I know many people don’t eat potatoes. My Mom wants to limit eating them. I’m trying to help out where I can. Thanks for watching.😊🫘🌱
You have some great selections in the queue. I am keeping it to some late tomatoes, peppers, peas, onions, greens and lettuce.
How awesome! I think I’ll also sow some peas. Just one more item.🤦🏽♀️🤣
Castor plant! You have quite an awesome variety of greens, onions, shallots, and all the things that you’re going to be planting out in your fall garden. I know there’s a ton more, but I just decided to stop listing all the things. I’m going to be trying some mixed variety of carrots this fall also. I have Canna that are growing in the back corner of my garden inground and they are at least 10 feet tall and beautiful. Thanks for sharing all the things that you’re gonna be doing in your fall garden 🪴
Hello Ms. Bernie. Thank you for watching the full video. It means a lot to me. I hope everything germinates, and produces. I’m trying to grow my own groceries and stay out of theme store as much as possible. I look forward to seeing what you grow in your fall garden. Be safe. I saw that snake skin you showed.🫣 Thanks again for watching.😊🫘🌱🫶🏽

Blessed morning Clausen! I love growing onions and garlic too. Question: what do you do with castor plants? Also, are you growing short day onion? If not, try them if you want bulbs.
Blessed morning @clory2040 onions and garlic are a must in my kitchen. So far I’m enjoying the beauty of the castor plant. I hope to one day be able to collect the castor oil from it. Yes, I grow short day onions. Thank you for visiting my channel, and all of your wonderful comments. I appreciate you.😊🫘🌱

they be growing in the store like that sometimes and the workers say they are afraid of them i be dying laughing i bring them right on up to the front with mushrooms hanging out LMAO
I think I’ve seen them growing in the store. I may get a few more and put them in my garden beds.🤷🏽♀️ I know it takes time for mushrooms to grow. I’m watching them like a hawk. Nothing yet.😊 I’m trying not to over water. I have the heavy hand spirit.🤦🏽♀️🤞🏽
@ClausenWorld i don't think over watering kills mushrooms the mycelium will be there just takes the right conditions for them to fruit. I think i started seeing something after about 2 or 3 weeks
Thanks so much, it helped a lot for my setup.
You’re very welcome. I’m happy to have been able to assist. I hope your install was simple, and is working well for you. Thanks for watching.😊

Hello Ms. Wendy. I’m learning as I go. So far no growth yet. I’ll keep everyone posted. Thank you for watching.😊🍄🫶🏽
Isn't that wayyyyyyyyy too much root for 1 container? Mine are huge and only one 3 inch piece per 20 gallon container
@@Thegardeningmcgyver No. I don’t feel it is. Only 2 roots grew. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate you watching. If I try growing more I’ll use a lager container. Thank you for the suggestion.😊
Very interesting. I’ve never grown mushrooms. I will be following! 👍🏾♥️
I know right. This is my first attempt at growing mushrooms. As soon as they begin to bloom I’ll post a follow up video. Thank you for watching.😊🍄🫶🏽

Thanks for doing this video, I had no idea what went into making sprouts.🪴
Good morning Clausen. Learned a lot from this video. I have two questions for you. 1) how long does the fermented beans last and do you store them in the refrigerator after the fermentation is completed and 2) do you use them in stir fries?
Good afternoon. The spouts last me weeks in the fridge. I rotate my fermented foods. One week I’ll add the peppers or root veggies to a salad. The next will be the sauerkraut. Then sprouts. I tend to have a variety. You can use them in stir fry’s. I try not to cook any of my ferments. I use them to aid in the natural formation of our gut bacteria. To keep the immune system healthy. I hope you make them. I think I will make clover sprouts next. Thank you for watching.😊🫘🌱
Those are some great prices
That’s what I say. I try and go regularly to fill up the pantry or the freezer. Fall then winter will be here before we know it. I’m trying to be ready. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it.😊🌱🍋🫑
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching. I appreciate it.😊
Whoa! You have outdone yourself filling this space with food and flowers! Can you put the Japanese Maples in the ground on your shady side?
I’m slowly doing my best. I haven’t considered putting them in the ground. I don’t feel this is my forever home. I don’t want to put them in the ground then have to leave them behind. If I’m able to move to a piece of land with a little more room. My surrounding neighbors are not very neighborly. They don’t cut their back yards. They put trash in my yard. Throw cigarettes in my yard. These houses are much too close for my liking. I’m praying for more room.🤦🏽♀️ So far they are bouncing back. Both have put on new leaves. They seem to require much more shade than is stated on the tag.🤷🏽♀️ They are slow growers I will keep them in the shade verses listening to the tag. They can live in a container for a long time. I’ll keep them in a size appropriate container until I decide if this is home or if it’s time to go.😊 I have my eye on a house sitting on some some land I pass by that seems abandoned. I’m going to see if the city or the country city has any info on it.😉🤞🏽🙌🏽
@@ClausenWorld You will get your space and peace. I look forward to seeing everything come to fruition. 💗
Hi there, wonderful sharing. Great sharing
Hello. Thank you for visiting. It’s greatly appreciated.😊🌱
Nice well kept garden, I can tell that you really enjoy. Thanks for sharing, Im catching up
Hello. I try to care for it. I do enjoy gardening very much. The only drawback is. Having a large garden can be challenging. Thank you for watching. I greatly appreciate it.😊🌱
Thanks I have it regrowing every year didnt no we could dehydrate it. I’m going to tell my group about it so you might get a few more hits on your video.
Hello you are very welcome. I appreciated your comment. Let me know how your dehydrated Malabar spinach turns it. I have some I’ll be harvesting, and dehydrating this weekend. Time to make more powder. Thanks for watching, and sharing.😊🌱
Wow Lady! This is the first time seeing you "out of uniform!" 😅 That smile can light up a room! Thanks as always for sharing your gardens with us! 🥰
I don’t usually go into the garden in my work or lounge wear. I almost always have on my play clothes in the garden. Aww you’re so kind. Thank you. I was just saying to myself last night. I don’t smile much. Thank you for watching and commenting. You are appreciated.😊
@ClausenWorld No problem! Your smile is very bright so keep working that in your content! I am working on that as well! I start out with a smile and a lot of energy, then go into my normal laid-back self! Lol! Take care...
You are doing a great job taking care of your garden in the extreme heat of Texas. Your bananas are thriving and producing so many baby plants I think the castor seed plant/bush is really pretty. I love the color and the shape of the leaves, hopefully you’re able to take care of whatever dug that hole. Thanks for sharing. It was a great tour.🪴
Thank you. This year is going better than last year. I still have a few challenges but I’m working through them as best as I can. The banana has really surprised me. If it continues to reproduce I may need to sell a few.🤣 The castor plant is taller than I am now. It is gorgeous. I will plant more in the garden next year. Thank you for watching and commenting my gardening friend.😊🌱🫶🏽
I enjoyed watching your video. You inspired me to get my greenstalks planted. I was trying to wait until it gets a little. Thanks for sharing your lush garden! 👍🏾♥️
Awww. Thank you. I bought a second. I need to plant it up for fall. 🤞🏽 I can get that done this weekend. Thank you for watching. Your homestead garden was an inspiration for a few of the things I’ve done to my garden. Thank you.😊🌱🫶🏽
You know me any seeds that you have to share or spare! I would like to have some. ❤❤❤ 33:02
Yes I know you and seeds.🤣 I got you.😉 Thank you for watching my gardening friend.😊🫘🫶🏽
The Castro plant is a beautiful tropical plant, fast-growing. You can make castor oil from this plant. You know this is new to me. So I had to hurry up and look it up. 21:49 beautiful
Yes that’s why I purchased the seeds. I’m looking into an oil extraction machine. I’d like to be able to make my own oil one day. For now I enjoy looking at the plant. It’s taller than I am now. I will plant more next spring. It’s a gorgeous plant. Thank you for watching my gardening friend.😊🌱🫶🏽
First time hearing about Callaloo, look it up Callaloo is a Jamaican-style dish, that has a lot of potassium and Iron. 15:06
Yes it is. I need to harvest some this weekend. I have a taste for some greens.🤭 I’m trying to collect seeds. The wind got to my plant. I’m hoping not to have baby plants everywhere in the spring.🤦🏽♀️ Thank you for watching my gardening friend.😊🌱🫶🏽
I got a lot of pest pressure on my collards. I couldn’t get past the seedling stage. I’ll try again though.
These pests are so rude. I hope you try again in late summer. For a fall garden. I find growing in fall is starting to be a favorite for me. I enjoy the summer but the pests are horrible! Good luck.😊🌱🤞🏽
