Mel Gibson's "Passion of Christ" is an excellent film. To politicize the film is to politicize its subject--which, ironically, reflects what's written in the Gospels. Gibson's response to the critics was spot on when he said, "If you don't think you'll like it, don't see it." Diane Sawyer was woefully unprepared to ask questions based on research--which she so obviously did not do to understand Gibson's film, otherwise she would have known what is written in all four Gospels of the Christian Bible. Sawyer did not consult with any expert Christian Theologians about Gibson's recount of the Gospels--which was accurately taken straight from the Gospel of John. Gibson should not have had to defend himself or his film for putting on screen what was written over 2,000 years ago in the Christian Holy Bible!

Thank you for this awesome movie about Jesus. May many blessings follow you for your obedience. I admire your talent. Maybe you can do another movie about Jesus if God ask you to do so. Of course the devil did not want this movie to be a reality. I appreciate the fact that you now know that you cannot bring about change without the Holy Spirit. None of us can. I happen to be Catholic, and not fond of this film; in fact I came out of it feeling battered and exhausted, rather than uplifted. That said, Mel Gibson deserves credit for sticking with his vision, forging ahead and most importantly, putting his own money where his mouth was. Glad the film made a profit. I do find it ironic that Gibson dismisses other portrayals of Jesus as “effete and not a very strong presence.” That’s exactly how I felt about Jim Caviezel. (You catch a quick flash of Max Von Sydow - now there was a strong presence.) I’m sorry Caviezel suffered physically, but that didn’t necessarily enhance his performance. And the Aramaic with English subtitles created more of a distance between the actor and us. Actually, one surprise was Diane Sawyer conducting an intelligent interview. Gibson confidently articulates his reasons for the film, and addresses his shortcomings.

I've got to say that Gibsons answers, one after another to what equates this 'interview' as nothing short of an 'interrogation', (only a light shining in his face is absent) are remarkable! I mean I can't find even one instance, where an answer he gave can be manipulated to construe he's "anti-semitic" or any of the other baseless charges about him or his film. All of his answers to even the tough questions, are remarkable. I'd have to say he had at least a little help from upstairs! 😉

Just watched this for the first time . Great movie I found it hard to watch at some points to see how Christ had to suffer so much for us all. Mel’s a good actor an incredible filmmaker .
