Depends on the additives and thickness. If its cut very thin and dried without sugar or other additives, then it's going to seem a lot more meat for the same weight. Any jerky with sugar is going to yield more weight per kg of meat used. example 1kg meat will give around 300g jerky if you start adding sugar etc maybe you will get it up to 400g for the same 1kg meat. If you cut the meat at 8mm and then another lot at 4mm the 4mm will look like it's much more meat but 300g is 300g. Hopefully this helps you understand. not sure what part of the world you are in, here in Australia jerky is very regulated like small goods when we sell it.

@@outbackjerky so here’s the kicker .. my jerky has sugar and spices.. that specific jerky I weighed against mine has no sugar and no spices .. it was “ original “ and it’s actually more dry than mine.. even thinner
