I'm a mechanical engineer with work experience ranging from advanced research with a Tier 1 automotive tire supplier, to working at NASA on space flight hardware testing, to working as a safety specialist for a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
However, growing up with a dad that owned a body shop, I've always had a unhealthy obsession with buying and fixing broken cars. I figured that since I have a camera, I might as well make some videos. Hopefully everyone enjoys a dry personality.

Reconditioning a Disgusting Repossesed Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
I took a gamble and won this 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport at auction. It was listed as a repossession and non running and went for pretty cheap. The video is a little long but this thing was a mess.
Once home it turned out the the interior was completely trashed. The floor mats were put on top off all of the garbage that was on the floors. It was full of used food containers, ants, cockroaches, weed smoke, cigarette smoke...it was disgusting. After many hours of cleaning it turned out to be a pretty nice car.
The exterior damage was easy to repair with a few hours at my PDR guy. The non running condition was corrected with a new O2 sensor.

As with all cars I purchase, it was time to give the MX5 a detail; luckily it was already in pretty good condition. The exterior needed only some minor touch up and the interior needed nothing more than a vacuum and wipe down.
