The Husband Who Was to Mind the House
So much more than the barebone tale from Exodus. But on the flip, how much is from embellishments due to centuries of retelling. Thank you.
you sound a little like the guy that reviews "the dollar tree" type stuff, in a good way though, the very slight inflection is good
well done.
I thank you. You are need most now
So is this an African tale?
Yes, according to my source, it is an African tale. I have seen a similarly named story, but I don't know if it is the same or not.
The best ones are those we've never heard of.
I don't remember any similar tale. Some stories transcend cultures and grow independently, and others like this are rare.
I'm glad you liked the story. When I came across it, I, like you, had never heard one quite like it.
More of these please. The best stories with knowledge, wisdom, and history weather your religious or not.
Thank you. Do you know when it was written?
The compilation it comes from was done in 1925.
AWESOME!!!!!!
ROFL the dad: "why didn't you tell me BEFORE that you loved him??" As she moons about the place saying she's fine 🤣🤣🤣 What a great old fairy tale!
Charming
Lovely! Thank you!
It’s nice to hear old stories. Thanks to you champ
This is taken from "Banking 101" The "Little Hat Edition"
St. Mike makes a good wingman.
Not if you're planning on seducing a dragon..
"Thou sonofab... dog!"
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you as always for the lovely bedtime story. It's become an enjoyable part of my day to relax. 🙏
My pleasure 😊
Thank you. I'd not read of this tale.
I don’t know why the algorithm brought me here, but I’m glad it did
I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
The six swans is another good one.
Thank you for the lovely story. 🙏
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
wow amazing story
cool story
There is a lot lost in the cultural translocation. Here in the US the closest match are the Briar Rabbit tales. But the wider all people stretch our cultural understanding the better.
💙👍🏻
I heard this story way back in elementary school, and I always remembered it because it was an interesting story. I heard it a little differently though, it was some sort of sun goddess or something like that that set up the race and the reward. And it didn't mention anything about the blue beetle or the flag. It just sort of ended when the beetle proved that it had wings. All these stories have different versions though. Great storytelling.
Hi
Thank you for the lovely story. I chose it to listen to first as I finally am winding down.
Thanks for listening

Some other excellent east asian stories are the Chinese tale the magic brocade and the Japanese tale the wooden bowl.
Hey, not trying be overtly critical, but lose the soundtrack as it truly takes away from your story telling. It's very distracting.
I don't like to do that very often anyway, as it's a lot more work. Thanks for the suggestion!
I agree
@@theworldstoryteller1197 Thank You! Liked & Subscribed as a direct result of your proactivity.
Thank you. This is the best telling I have heard of this story.
Thank you for the story. I enjoyed listening.
Thank you for the story. It is a lovely escape for a while. 🙏
Bushy Bride is a fantastic tale by asbjornsen and moe.
Did you know norway had their own fairytale collectors like the grimm brothers .
I know about East of the Sun and West of the Moon by Peter Christen Asbjørnsen and Jørgen Engebretsen Moe. I'm sure there are more, though. Is there a specific title other than this one? I'm always looking for new source material.
Hacon Grizzlebeard is another good one. It's norway's king thrushbeard.
What is this story sourced from?
This is from Jewish Fairy Tales and Legends by "Aunt Naomi" (Gertrude Landa) [1919].
Thank you! If you would source your stories, that would make them more interesting imo. More to research! Thanks much! I subscribed!
Sounds. Like. A. Drunken. Night. Out
Interesting tale, thank you.
I'm glad you liked it. I especially liked the cleverness displayed by the thieves.
