I just found your video. This is going to be long. I had a friend that was my best friend at the time. She even lived at my parents' home with me for about half a year after university. After she went back to her city for a new job (during the pandemic), she never talked to me again. I would tag her on stuff in Facebook, Instagram, call her, text her, but never replied. She did invite me and my family for a dinner. IT WAS SO AWKWARD. There was no friendship left there. I didn't know what had changed. A year passed, she got engaged, out of nowhere she asked me to be one of her 20 bridesmaids (she really thought she was going to look good having so many bridesmaids 😂), and ask me to spend around $700 on a trip to the beach (I live in Mexico so yeah, that's expensive for a freaking wedding party), plus one more trip to another state to go get her dress, another trip to ANOTHER state for the legal ceremony, and also get four different dresses and two bathing suits, all a specific type of color and fabric. And yes, organizing the bachelorette party and covering expenses. The thing is, I never really understood why she stopped talking to me. Not until my highschool best friend, who happened to know her 'cause we all went to the same university, pointed out every single thing she did to me. She was always kind of jealous of me, the clothes that I wore, my grades at school, the places I would hang out with my family, the fact that the popular guys in university at some point asked me to go out, which I never saw as a threat but my best friend says she was not the only one who seemed jealous of that. In general, she was probably my friend just because in her head, it made her look good to be next to me because I was good at school and people knew me. I have to add, I never thought so highly of myself. Never. I did not deserve that. I want to say that I didn't notice the signals back then, but hell I did. She would give me this weird look sometimes, and exaggerated some reactions like we had the super duper best friends forever thing. Just overall, weird. So when she made this videocall and demanded for all the bridesmaids to join so she could explain the wedding plan, I felt so sad I didn't even bothered to turn the camera on. She never cared about asking how I was, although I used to try to reach up to her several times in the last year. I was crying with rage. I had lost my grandmother one month before the videocall, in a moment that took us all by surprise, and I was left with no grandparents. I had lost two uncles that year because of COVID. I tried to call her, never got an answer. But she demanded me to join the stupid call. Finally, I said no thank you, and she lost half of her bridesmaids along the way. She had to ask two other girls she had just met right before the wedding because she wanted to show everyone just how many friends she had. Her dad also spent money to book 50 rooms ahead of time in this hotel, rooms she wasn't able to fill because she didn't have that amount of friends. She begged her guests through Whatsapp to go. Her wedding pictures show the venue half empty. She didn't invite her two childhood best friends either. And yeah, nowadays, two years after the wedding, she doesn't even talk to four of her bridesmaids. I have the feeling that she has the traits of a narcissistic woman, but well, I'm no expert. I still have her on insta, but I don't talk to her. You just made me look back in to it. Never again will I let another person like this get into my life. And if I have children, I will tell them of my experience and teach them to be wiser
