Thank you so much
Superb flowers🌸🌺🌻🌹🌷🌼💐
Thank you so much 🙂
Hi Friend.... Your new subscriber..... Nice Garden 🏡... Stay connected❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
So exciting to see your seeds sprouting! I've purchased several gardening supplies from your Amazon store. I love the repotting mat, it sure helps in clean-up. Do you have a link from your UA-cam page?
Thank you. Yes the mat is on my Amazon store under the gardening tool section
Shirt works just fine!
Fun seeing your seedling updates. I love when I check on my seedling trays and there are little baby plants there for the first time it’s so exciting 😊
😅😊
Me too. I love seeing them grow 😊.
Nice sharing 🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you😊
Very educational!
Thank you 😊
This is something I have wondered how to do. Thank you for the video.
You are welcome 🤗. Thank you for watching
Shouldn't have covered the Rockcreast.
That’s the thing when the seeds are so tiny you feel like you might get 1 or 50! 😆
😅. I over did it, the lobelias have germinated already and it looks like I planted like hundreds 😮😅. I should be posting the updated seedlings pretty soon. Thank you for watching
This video made me get out of my easy chair and fill some seed trays. One year I had nasturtium seeds. I scarred them and soak them overnight before planting. Still had barely 25% germination. Have you ever tried scarifying seeds? Does it really work?
😊. I have not grown a nasturtium yet. I will plant it next month. I did the soaking with lupines and then put them in the refrigerator and had good germination. I have never scarify seeds
Great video. My greatest take away from today was using the soil blocker using coir!!! I use the blocker but with a type of traditional soil blocking mix (compost, or worm castings, or greensand added). Really excited to try blocking plain potting mix! Thanks for sharing. You mentioned larkspur but I didn't see you germinate it. Share your method please.
Thank you. Larkspur along with Delphiniums need cold stratification for 2 weeks. It's still in the refrigerator. Don't worry I will do a video.😊
Hi Nancy, thank you for this video, now I understand cold stratification. I also learned it’s important to actually read the back of the seed packet!
You are welcome! Thank you for watching 😄
Thank you for the video. I have success with keeping my coleus in water over-winter but as soon as I try to transplant them to cute pots I get gnats. It's so frustrating! Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you!
You are welcome! Try "mosquito bites"
Thanks for sharing. I also lost a few of my coleus cuttings and it’s encouraging to see that despite our best efforts, sometimes it just happens. Love your coleus collection.
Thank you. Yes, I agree. Thank you for watching 😊
Thank you for this December tour. Do you keep your bathtub room plants under artificial lighting? Also, should I fertilize my overwintering, geraniums and coleus?
You are welcome!. I have a skylight in my bathroom. I usually don't fertilize my Coleus and geraniums indoors unless they are struggling. But if you want, you can fertilize them 😊. Thank you for watching
Love the Timelapse video. 🌼
Thank you!
Can you bring the salvia in and overwinter it ?
I haven't tried that but I guess you can
I haven’t grown it before but it could be an experiment.
Yes just give it a try
New subscriber just saw your coleus video and was wanting to see your overwintering area! This was perfect
Thank you😊
😆 I do think you have a coleus obsession but I understand. I would love to see your setup for overwintering all of these.
Thank you for understanding. I will tell you that I overwinter them indoors. Check out my Coleus indoor collection video. Most of them are in that video. Thank you for watching 😊
Išverskit
Sorry
Love it🎉🎉
Thank you
These are my fav and I live in a rv traveling all over made a hydroponic little garden in the tiny space behind kitchen sink. Starting them from seed is the only way I can properly keep them urs look incredible and are good
Oh that's awesome
From where to buy in India??
I am sorry but I don't lnow
Hi Nancy, this video is very helpful. It looks like both stratification methods will work. Is this true for most seed types? I going to plant seeds of rudbeckia, echinacea and zinnias in early March. I'm excited to try it!
Yes, thank you. No, some seeds don't need cold stratification. Sometimes, it's frustrating when some seeds companies say some seeds need cold stratification while others say that they don't. I will say Eden Brother's and Johnny Seeds have the best instructions. Rudbeckia needs cold stratification but it grows very slow, I would recommend to start earlier. I don't know about echinacea. Zinnias don't need cold stratification. Thank you for watching 🙂
Thank you, for sharing!
Thank you for watching 😊. I really appreciate it
I have heard lisianthus is a slow starter. You may need to start it early in January.
Yes, thank you.
I notice you didn't peel the paper off these to expose the white bulb so I'm guessing that it isn't necessary but just a preference if one wants to peel their bulbs. Also, i think you said if fungas gnats are a problem, which my area is, then use full peat moss instead of soil, is that correct? Thisvwill be my firstvyear bringing my bulbs out of dormancy and cant wsitvto follow your instructions here- thanks fir being so thorough ❤ I juat finished watching to the end...glad you took the paper off that last bulb and caught that rot! Glad you were able to use it to show us how to deal with that. And to use cinnamon. Absolutely loved your show of bulbs in bloom at the end of video🎉
Yes, regarding the coco fiber. I noticed when I used that, there were less fungus gnats. Thank you watching 🙂
That Snow on the Mountain as you call it is terribly invasive and once planted, almost impossible to get rid of. I am happy to see you are attempting to get rid of it. Good luck.
Thank you🙂
i had great luck with the maverick series geranium seeds from true leaf market! grew them in spring and they are still blooming in the greenhouse now (40 degree F days)
Oh whoa! Thank you
Me too, in fact, I am overwintering some cuttings in my kitchen window. They just keep blooming!
That is awesome 🙂
How did your Rilona bulb come out? Did it bloom orange?
It was red orange. Check out my shorts on my Amaryllis playlist, it was one of the first Amaryllis to bloom. Thank you for watching 🙂
Looking forward to your seed starting videos in the new year! What would you recommend for part shade to shade? Im in 6b, but my front yard gets so little sun.
Thank you. I would recommend Coleus, lobelias, impatiens, hypoestes, and tubers like caladiums, elephant ears
@@HostaandLilyGarden Thank you! I ordered some seeds from Swallowtail Garden, Eden Brothers, and Baker's Creek to try alongside or shortly after you in January/February.
Awesome 🙂.
Nice seed haul Nancy. I purchased several of the same seeds as you. Looking forward to your upcoming seed starting videos.
Thank you☺️. Oh nice, good choices 🌱. Thank you for watching
What a wonderful collection of flower seeds! I’ve grown vegetables from seeds before, but not flowers. I’m unclear about stratification. Will you have a video on that as well as planting your flower seeds? Thank you. 😊
Thank you so much Beth! ☺️. Yes of course, I will
Hi from Poland🎉
Oh whoa 😯, Hi fellow gardener from Poland 😍. Welcome and thank you for watching 😊
@HostaandLilyGarden pleasure is all mine..
💙🌿sending holiday blessings
Thank you
Oh, that's a really amazing process! Like magic! 🤩
Thank you 😊
AMAZING! Not only saved, but you got a lot more plants! I worked at a garden center years ago and we would have outdoor arrangements for sale that included coleus, and the coleus would sometimes take over the other plants and my boss would have me go cut back the coleus, and I would cut it back pretty severely (usually by half), and it was amazing to me that in just ONE WEEK the coleus would be as tall and big as it was before I'd cut it back. They are amazing plants! Thank you!
Thank you! . Yes Coleus are amazing 😍
❤thank you!
You are welcome 😊. Thank you for watching
Beautiful coleus! This is valuable information, now I know how much root system is needed before potting up the cuttings. Thank you!
Thank you for watching 😊. I am glad you liked it
Pretty
Thank you 😊
Does it matter how close you cut the Stem down to the Tuber?
I don't think so, as long as you don't cut the top of the tuber
@HostaandLilyGarden Thank You Very Much 👍
Do you have experience overwintering tropicals like alocasias? I have a bunch of them and am wondering about lighting conditions. Love your plants!
I have one dwarf amazonica alocasia and I just have it by a window that gets morning sun
@@HostaandLilyGarden Awesome! I have my tropicals spread out throughout my house, some under lights, and others just by a window. I'll post a video on these soon!
I will definitely check it out
Your over wintering plants look healthy and happy. Looking forward to your month by month videos with progress on all your plants!
Thank you😊
This is an amazing UA-cam video of your incredible collection of hostas. All in such Prime condition. Excellent long garden tour.
Thank you so much😊
What a great video, thank you! Do you ever bring in your elephant ear plants inside or do you overwinter all of them?
Thank you so much 😊. No, I just overwinter them.
@@HostaandLilyGarden I have some on pots and some on the ground, I will then overwinter them all, thank you!
You are welcome. Thank you for watching ☘️
I love salvia Wendy's Wish and have grown it the last two years. I just cut them back and took them in their pots into the house to take out in the spring. The hummingbirds love them and the raspberry pink flowers are beautiful.
Also how often do you water the cuttings that you put in the same pot with the established plant? Thanks.
Thank you for sharing😊
Once a week
That is very thorough instructions. I am wondering if I am okay that I brought the thriving pot of elephant ears into my living room hoping to grow it as a houseplant over the winter. It's big, but it fits. Do you have to take the tubers out of the soil and store them? I also have taken into the garage canna lilies the last couple of years in their pots and waited until spring to repot in new soil and divide. So I thought I can do that for dahlias and elephant ears?(first time growing both of those). Thanks.
I think it will be fine. Remember, they are tropical plants so they will require a warm and humid environment. I have an Amazonia colocasia that struggled inside and I thought it died because all the leaves died but I replanted it and when I took it outside for the summer, it grew beautifully. I am working on a video about a tour of the plants that I brought inside. Stay tuned
Does this work for ivy geraniums as well? and do you have a video on bringing the geranium in its existing pot to bring in the garage or inside the house. I have done salvias just bringing the pots into the garage after cutting it back the same way. Most geraniums don't bloom well here in Atlanta because of the heat, but I had a couple that did well.
Yes I brought one of my ivy geraniums in pots in inside and I think it bloomed later in April. I think this year, I will fertilize to see if it blooms earlier
