    ..thing to keep in mind.. The red dot (mouse pointer) is visible only during live presentation. In playback mode the movements of the pointer are not there. Solution: If you want to point to things, use pen and draw lines. You may have to erase it a lot but it will be recorded.

    What if I want to show a video as part of my presentation (e.g. UA-cam video)?

      I'm no expert! But since you can screenshare, I suspect you can just play the video and share the screen. Helps to have two monitors.

      Erick Howenstine tried that and the video shows but no audio.

    I enjoyed the two maiden flights and look forward to it serving as a valuable tool for future research. Following the training and certification process, are there any conceptual projects on the horizon that are being considered?

      Alex has some research uses for it, and we want to integrate it into Remote Sensing -- I understand you can fly a sweeping pattern and stitch orthographic images, or render a 3D image from the overlapping sections.

      You're welcome but unfortunately IQtell shut down! The GTD system is still a good one, though, and IQtell users have a facebook page where alternative software is discussed. facebook.com/groups/iqtellusers/

    Erick, I don't think I saw you in the IQTELL users Slack channel. What did you end up replacing IQTELL with this month after the shutdown? I'm still searching.

      I miss IQtell! :( I subscribed to Newton for email then learned it requires Windows 10 Anniversary edition or later... I have Windows 7. So I can only use it on my Android. It has delayed mail and, message if no reply, and even mark when sent mail is read. (!) It links to Todoist for the hierarchical lists, tags, priorities, calendar links... but doesn't have macros and doesn't fully integrate email. There's a FB group discussing alternatives to IQtell: Tools for Getting Things Done.

      I'm in the same boat. I used Cloudmagic and kept it awhile after it became Newton, but really disliked the way they went about converting to the paid model. Communication is not their strong suit. Wasn't worth it for me. I'm still wandering at the moment. The better conversation is happening on Slack. Let me know if you are not already in the channel and I can send you an invite. Some very good conversations going on there and a lot reps/devs from various tools.

    I rarely comment on videos. But this is necessary. THANK YOU! Exceptional job walking us through how to use IQTELL in a way that demystifies what can easily be overwhelming. I'm excited to begin using :)

    Great video! Congratulations! I have been using both GTD method and IQTELL app for almost two years. I once twitted that if GTD were a religion, IQTELL would be my church.

      +Tiago Mota Miranda I just got started in IQTell and have been loving it. Just got introduced to the GTD method as well. I have a feeling they'll soon become my religion and church as well, lol. Any advice or recommendations how to best adapt to the system?

    • @tmmiran
      @tmmiran 8 років тому

      +Ben Smith , I strongly recommend reading (and later re-reading) the book, 'Getting Things Done', by David Allen, the originator of the method. You will want to at least watch the Getting Started videos of IQTELL. GTD in 15 minutes is very useful too ( hamberg.no/gtd/ ), plus www.zenhabits.net (specifically this link zenhabits.net/the-getting-things-done-gtd-faq/ ), and facilethings.com (basics of GTD facilethings.com/chapters/en/gtd101). Of course, follow @gtdguy on Twitter, and www.gettingthingsdone.com. Baby steps at the beginning and 'easy does it'. Well... I can say I don't know how I could live a decent life before using the method. I'm more focused, relaxed, mindful, organized, and productive. It works as a shield against lots of bullshit coworkers may throw at you. Oh, you may want to pay a visit here too: workflowinstitute.org/workflow-resources/

      +Ben Smith I'm actually writing a book on Productivity Mgmt Discipline and technologies. I've worked in app dev for over 20 years and the 'process' has been around forever. Just don't corner yourself in to something, BUT be willing to adapt. ;-)Also recommend completely delineating GTD into entry and procurment. How you obtain the data does not need ot implement the same business rules as to how you entered it. I'm happy t oshare a few chapters if you like.
