The kislux looks still good and 1/10 the price of real one. So many people will choose fake. Since during u walk in mall or on the street no1 will stop u and check ur bag from 5cm distance to see these differences. These differences are mostly impossible to see from more than 1-2m away. And be honest. 95% of these people buy these stuffs only to pretend fancy, rich during a walk

Brompton G bike controllers have been delayed because the same controllers are used by British military drones. British military is upgrading all their drone specialties as a result of the recent war in Ukraine. The manufacturers of the controllers prioritise British military over Brompton.

Thanks for this video. Although, I think perhaps you are a little too critical of this new Brompton venture. I have a Brompton T Line, which fulfils all the commuting and travelling needs I have. However, I am a tourer as well, and I am really looking at the G line as a light tourer, something you mention towards the end of your video. Why ? Well, a full size touring bike is a bugger to travel with, either on trains airlines, requiring special packing and dismantling, or booking, and extra expense. Also, a good bit of my touring is staying at hotels / motels /airbnb/etc, and it is always a worry about what you are going to do about the bike at night. Some places have secure storage, some let you take it to your room, but so often you get looked at as if you are from Mars and told to leave it outside. So, a bike like a G line which will take a moderate amount of bike packing stuff for, say, a week's tour, would be great, and solve many problems. I'm a bit concerned about the limitations of an 8 speed Alfine, and just wondering how it would do touring, and on some loaded hill climbing ? I have Rohloff on my touring bike, so like the range I have there. Not sure the Alfine will be as good. Also, what luggage options are people using for bike packing with a G line ? Do some small rear panniers work ? Thanks.

I still can’t decide what to get for biketouring. 😅 the weight difference between P and C which is 2kg doesn’t look much to warrant the price difference.

The P-line is an upgraded Superlight. It has a clear place in the Brompton line up, even if you can’t see it. The P-line has a four speed and (more recently) a 12 speed option. It does not have 6 gear option (unlike the Superlight that had 6 gears) but of course its possible to add gears after market.

I looked at a lot of backpacks before deciding to kislux their bag. I'm so glad I did. This is a beautiful backpack that looks well made. I bought it for an upcoming trip and am so excited to have it. It only took a few days to get here, so the shipping was fast. I highly recommend it and will buy again. It also makes a great gift.

Thank you. Have returned to watch this video now that I have actually purchased the P-line electric which has the advance roller wheels. The selling point for me is the folding and transport whilst folded around railway stations etc. I agree that whilst the roller wheels are sort of ok, I think these wheels would be better..... I will just say I love the emerald green of your bike although I have the flame lacquer. Best wishes and thank you. Caroline

So many negative comments. Just tested a G-line and a G-line electric today. After many years with a C, now changing to G electic. Heavier indeed, but much mor fun! This is NOT a gravel bike, despite the marketing, but the perfect urban bike that is useful even in a hilly city. Try it before you judge!

I bought a new P Line electric and it came in an unrideable condition. I also figured it would be easier just to fix the problems and ask for replacement parts as required, which I did. After two weeks I still didn't have both of the parts I needed and ended up rejecting the whole bike and sending it back. I too wished I'd just rejected it and returned it for them to fix or replace. I think this is an important lesson here - don't try and help, just send it off to them. I also think that since Brompton massively expanded there has been some quality issues which we did not see before. My 2018 M6L seems just better built, and with better quality parts, than the 2023 P line I received. I also think that the G line has become such a primary focus that Brompton are maybe taking their eye of the ball on their stock/dispatch etc. I did find their customer service was good, in house, but getting to actually speak to someone and getting decisions was very long winded. It would have been much easier and much better if they had simple replied to my initial contact with a return instruction and arranged pick-up, whereas they were concerned more with how it happened than with what they should do about it. I had to make all the suggestions and I had to chase them repeatedly. When you spend in excess of £3k on a bike, and it arrives unrideable, you really expect a bit more in the way of expediting solutions.

Chain - Use immersion wax. Problem solved. Derailleur - The main issue is the square plate (holding the gear cable) at the cable pinch bolt. That plate is smooth and does not have sufficient friction to hold the cable. If you rough up its surface, there will be no cable slippage. Something that Brompton should do at the factory.

I just bought the 3D-printed Selle San Marco Shortfit. It was an Ex-Demo, and I was already quite impressed with the non-3D-printed version on my other bike. The extra $$ doesn't make it that much more comfortable. I was pleased with the standard Selle San Marco. The 3D-printed saddle is a lot grippier and feels more comfortable when climbing. Definitely not worth the extra $$, but I got it at a massive discount, so I'm not complaining.

Makes no sense comparing an Alloy M bar to a Carbon Flat bar.. not apples to apples.. The Brompton Flat bar weighs 130 grams.. so what are you saying.. 65 grams.. which is absolutely minute. Assuming you weighabout 80 kilos and the bike weighs 10 you are saving 0.072 % The weight of the money that is no longer in your wallet is greater... There may be a slight perception in comfort but lets not kid ourselves.. this is bike jewelry nothing more.. A flashy red go faster stripe would be a better way to spend money and about as effective at increasing the ride quality.

Hi, thank you for your review...... I have been considering getting the P line e-bike myself, but your comprehensive review has made me question this.... The reason is the number of issues you have had and the amount of tweaking you have felt you needed to do. I am 67 with no experience with bikes in general never mind an electric one.... I can't see me tweaking! My husband used to love spending his time on his car but is now sadly passed, I. Now I just get into a car and drive, no tweaking or anything! Would you suggest that I don't buy this e-bike? Thanks again, Caroline

Since then I carry two brand new innertubes stuffed up the frame - I'm not sitting at the side of the road with a repair kit. Up there with the innertubes is a ziplock bag to put the parts I remove in so nothing goes missing.

Dear Brompton Guy, Thanks for this video. I’m 78 and still do a lot of cycling. I just bought a used 6 speed Brompton that was built in 2006. I took it to a Brompton recommended bike mechanic for a good going over. I also asked him to do with this bike, one of the things you did in this video. You changed the chain ring on a 20 year old Brompton from the original 52 tooth to a 40t. The “Brompton mechanic” I went to refused to do that because he couldn’t get a smaller chainring from Brompton. He said if he did install an off brand he would need to put in one made in China, and I would not be happy with it. I want the smaller ring because I live in the hills of Northern Kentucky. Your video convinced me I would be happy with a new, smaller chainring. Could you please let me know how to obtain a 40t chain ring for my Brompton? Even a 39t would be appreciated. I would either find another mechanic to do the job, or maybe ask you for more specific tips on how to do it myself. I would need to invest in a couple of tools, but with some good advice, I think I could get it done. Keep in mind that I would be almost as happy with a chainring with a chain guard as one without. My long term goal is to regularly ride the bike on a 22 mile loop down to the Ohio River from my house and back home. I would need to push the bike for a few miles with the stock 52t chainring. I don’t like to push! I also want to ride the Brompton up the Ohio to Erie Trail. A fairly new Rail to Trail of 326 miles from the Ohio River to Lake Erie, on the north side of the state of Ohio. Oh, one more ride: I want to do a 30 mile ride from my house to the “Brompton Bike mechanic’s” shop so I can show him how “unhappy” I am with my new chainring! Thanks Paul Buelterman Florence, Kentucky 513-376-2887

Thanks for this video, I watched it because I hadn't heard of them. I'm not worried about the initial cost because inner tubes are not a big or common expense but equally I'm not that bothered about the weight either because I take my time and often carry quite a load so again it's not too significant. But they seem an unnecessary gamble so I'll stick with traditional inner tubes, thanks for helping make an informed decision🙂.

  • @davidcollier6520

Thanks for the video, that was really clear and all made perfect sense. I've had a Brompton since 2012 and been lucky enough not to have a puncture which is as well because I wouldn't have known where to start before watching this. I saw the comment about using Muc Off’s inner tube sealant which I have also considered, I've used it on 2 other bikes and the thing is I don't know if I have had a puncture on those bikes, I'm blissfully unaware if I have. But I'll continue to try my luck without and will at least know what to do should the worst happen🙂.
