Creating Organic Textures in Pottery: How to use Porcelain Slip with Dark Stoneware | Ceramics Video
In this video, I demonstrate how to apply porcelain slip to dark stoneware pots using both brushwork and the pottery wheel. Watch as I blend the slip with the clay to create an organic, fluid texture.
I'm using a thick, 100% high fired porcelain slip and applying it to a leather hard pots just after the trimming.
These pieces will later be glazed with ash and transparent glazes before firing, creating stunning contrasts and textures. Join me for this hands-on pottery process!

Qué idea más interesante. Trabajo porcelana y arcilla refractaria (ambas con tiempos de horneado similares) pero nunca se me hubiera ocurrido mezclarlas. Ansiosa de probar esta maravillosa técnica. Hermoso resultado. Muchas gracias por compartir!!!❤
But what does it look like after firing?! 😂
you can see my work on instagram or on my website. you'll see similar teabowls that I make.
@@OYUCeramicswhat is your firing process? Just curious
Really dig your work ❤👌
@@quazimodo1973 thank you!
ممكن بدون موسيقى حيكون أحلا بكثير
Lovely turning. Right up my street with the finger burnishing. Nice one.
Beauties ❤❤
So beautiful. May I ask how much clay you were using? Keep going 🙏🏻
@@fabiennejetzer1893 for my chawans I use around 500-600g
I love how i can actually hear the sounds
lovely! do you maybe have a more in depth description on how you achieve this wavy organic shape? thank you
@@WildTeenOne I guess I'm using a little bit more power with my fingers on those pulls when I'm altering the shape. It also helps when the clay is on the wetter side and the walls are pretty thick. It's very hard to make this organic shape while you throw super thin. Plus, there's a lot of practise. I've been doing this shape for quite a while
@@OYUCeramics thank you so much! I wasn’t thinking too much about the thickness of the walls indeed, I’ll go practice then :)
