So glad I tied up all of my money with the kickstarter for 9 months just to save 50 bucks. Would be nice if we got free shipping like you are giving these buyers , we had to pay an extra $250-$350. It’s pretty lame to pull this on people that took risk and backed your product early. I doubt people will pledge again, I know I won’t.
Are you saying those who did the kickstarter had to pay shipping but those paying regular price don’t? And the difference is $50?
@ If you did the kickstarter they made you pay for shipping which was between $250-$350. Super early birds saved a little more but the early birds saved about $50 yes. You got some deals on accessories but that doesn’t really make up for the 9 months of tying my money up with the risk. They’ve only shipped the first 200 to backers and we are also worried that the current buyers will get theirs before us since the freight shipping we payed for takes 2 months from China by ship and they haven’t even shipped yet.
May you show us how to get to the CAM for a relief? Which Software have you used? Thanks
The new update to our CAM will support 3D relief functions and we will create much content on that. In the meantime you can use Fusion360, Vcarve, Kiri:moto or many other CAM's to create relief Gcodes.
@@Makera Thanks for your answer. Can you tell me if i should wait for the update or is it worth my time to implement the Carvera to Fusion? Or simply ask - how long do we have to be patient?
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Other than keeping the chuck jaws in order 1-4 or 4-1 is there a particular position that #1 or #4 need to be in?
The particular position is not relevant, as long as you follow the order, it should work.
Hi Jason. Exactly the video I was looking for. You’re doing an amazing job transferring this kind of knowledge. Thank you so much!
Ordered just before the livestream. Look forward to more videos of what it can all do
Is it possible to set a static IP to the Carvera?
You can modify this in the wifi/network settings of the device that is connected to the machine.
Looking forward to mine in January
Thank you for the support!
I discover the brand few months ago , I miss the live but I can't wait for the release.
Beginning of live stream 8:00
❤ Must Have 🦊🥳 Love the Vid. Thanks!
For anyone who might run into issues with the profile locations; I'm using SW CAM 2023 and had to instead put my profiles here: C:\ProgramData\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS CAM 2023\Posts Also make sure your registry key lines up with the correct Posts location @ HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SOLIDWORKS CAM\PostData & HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolidWorks\SOLIDWORKS CAM\PostData
Realy excited, hope it arrives before the holydays, but if it's January it will be fine too.
What the fuck is "Mituitung"? Using a fake product in official video... 😂😂
It will be the best Christmas ever !!!
Excellent tutorial.
Glad you liked it!
😢that’s dangerous the bit broken
Some bits may break in CNC machining due to testing, parameters modification and also quality of bits. As long as the lid is closed and the machine is operated cautiously, then it not very dangerous.
I haven't got any projects which would need this but I still want one.😄
Best team ever! Thank you
Thank you so much for your kind words!
So excited for mine, can’t ship fast enough!!! Carvera we really appreciate the insight and transparency into the production process. It makes all the difference!
Thank you! We’re working hard to ship the Carvera Air machines as quickly as possible.
Looking good!
Highly appreciate the insights. It looks so amazing!
Question: we only use wood in our class projects. What stock material closest resembles that? I was thinking nylon or epoxy. Your thoughts would be very helpful.
This is a great question! We would suggest epoxy for softer woods like pine, and ABS or nylon for harder woods like walnut.
is there a 'maintenance' video for the machine? cleaning the ways, lubrication, other things that should be done, etc.. :-)
At this time, we do not have a maintenance video but plan to put one together in the near future. In the time being, you can find maintenance guides on our wiki here: wiki.makera.com/en/carvera/maintenance
I noticed that you put in the corn bit. I created a bit for our 1/32 flat end mill( did the metric equivalent) and solidworks did not recognize it because it was smaller than 1mm. Simulations of the tool path did not run. I will try doing it this way to see what happens.
That's interesting, and perhaps something that solidworks forums may be able to help with. You should be able to utilize bits smaller than 1 mm as we have, though we've also noticed that solidworks' simulations do not show everything, like peck-drilling for example.
@@MakeraI’m waiting for you folks to get the 3D model import feature working in MakeraCam so that SolidWorks models can be imported directly into it.
This is fantastic. I have been working my way through getting solidworks working with the Carrara. This is going to fill in the gaps that I had. I was able to create a tool crib in another spot…cut a piece but with some errors. Thanks SO much for this! Hopefully this will lead to a purchase of more machines for our schools.
Happy to be able to assist, and thanks for the view! Check out the part 2 video to learn how to alleviate some possible errors in tool path creation for Solidworks CAM.
Awesome! I've been waiting for Solidworks CAM guides!
I am sure it is mentioned in the spec sheet, but what is the memory capacity of the carvera for the programs? Both the toolchanging and the new air machine?
The internal capacity is 16 gb.
Still missing: the ability to use the 4th axis. I had to teach myself how to write CamWorks/SW Cam post processors so I could add it in myself.
An official 4th axis machining profile is not available for Solidworks CAM at this time, but many of our users may be interested in the profile you've created. If you would, please consider sharing it with us at support@makera.com for review. And please stay tuned for more 4th axis content and guides!
That was great. Thank you for the explanation! :)
Happy to assist!
Where can I purchase the "correct" USB C cable to connect my Surface GO 3 to the machine to run the controller software? I'm having problems finding the right cable.
A generic high speed USB C data transfer cable would work correctly, assuming your device has USB transfer capability. As this is not an android device, the USB driver may also be needed, and please also ensure you are using the USB C port on the back of the machine. We recommend using wifi to wifi connection for tablets usually as many tablets do not support USB to USB transfer. You can learn more here: ua-cam.com/video/BEp7jFWM49Y/v-deo.html
Disappointing machine.
We are sorry you feel this way, but would love to hear your feedback so we may be able to improve. Please get in touch at www.makera.com/pages/contact
It is an awesome machine!
I would like to see a video explaining how to do 4-axis machining, no matter what the method.
Thank you for this feedback, and stay tuned! We have a number of tutorials for this on the way soon.
how are you getting them to align right, I get the pins portion but I don't get if you zero is on the left side how it is on t he right at the end.
ua-cam.com/video/yIMAdBEokKU/v-deo.html You need to select to flipped left bottom corner as the origin for the backside toolpath.
For such fundamental instructions, meaning that people that will watch this video would be really beginners, I dont understand why you chose to accelerate all the tool selection and just give an overview about it. It makes the video so confusing. It would be better to spend some more time and go through each of the selections and discuss about it.
Thank you for this feedback. For beginners new to using Fusion 360, we recommend starting with Autodesk's Fusion tutorials to dive deeper into this programs functions. At Makera, we look more closely at our own CAM software, Makera CAM, but cannot do the same for every CAM program that is compatible with our machines. This video, and many of our others, are intended to overview the steps for a specific project after the basics are already obtained.
Gent i reached to youtube channel hopping to be contacted with someone from makera , to be honest , requested stamped invoice with some documentation such as certificate of orgin official stamped to proceed with purchasing the machine, but there is some delay in replaying wondering if someone read my mail or not even there is no direct contact with sales rep??
Sorry for the delay, Can you please email the documentation needed to info@makera.com.
I funded the Carvera Air, looking to get it setup in F360 before it arrives. Is there a different profile for the Carvera Air?
We don't have a F360 post processor yet for the Carvera Air, but we will share soon and post publicly.
Hello, I was wondering wether the sanding blocks can be bought seperately, and if so, where I can find them? Thank you for your time.
We only send one block with the machine but don't sell them, they should be available from a local 3M dealer.
i saw makera cam software on makeara website ..... can makera software do a toolpath like this video ?
Not yet, But the 4th axis toolpaths should be added by end of the year.
@@Makerahow much cost it will be ?
I watched this video to remove my spindle but it is still stuck . I bought 15mm wrench and I still can loosen the threads what can i do to fix it ?
Can you please connect with us on Discord or email so we can troubleshoot the issue. support@makera.com
About how long did it take to carve this piece? Thank you!
It takes around 4 hours.
Hi my update failed, and light is off. power on and off but still no light or connection. how can i go back or do it again.. please help.. i cant use it anymore..
Can you please email support@makera.com so we can assist you further.
same here, how did you solved? I'm trying to find an sd card on the machine to try put it manually
@nik00lo i solved it by asking the files from Carvera helpdesk and put it back on the sd and it worked again like it was thanks
how to make a rounded surface shape without using fusion? I would like to make video game console buttons like a Gameboy buttons for exemple. I know how to do it with fusion but I would like to do it with your software if possible.
At the moment our CAM does not support 3D reliefs. This feature should be available in an updated in about 2 months.
The laser is etching the travel lines even though I used the makeraCAM, what possible fixes can i do to the software or hardware?
It is possible that this is a focus issue or that the laser needs to be calibrated. Please see the support guides on our Wiki, and reach out to support@makera.com if you run into any trouble.
Have you tried using solidworks with solid cam? I’d really like to see Makera get the import 3D model part of their software working. That would make their software more user friendly for those who use software other than fusion.
Yes, we have a SolidCAM profile available, along with many other CAM programs in addition to Fusion (kirimoto, vcarve, masercam, etc). You can learn more about all the programs we support on our wiki site here: wiki.makera.com/en/software Additionally, the 3D model feature is coming to Makera CAM in beta form soon! Stay tuned.
Excellent tutorial! I have had my original Carvera for a couple years in the box, now getting it set up and using Fusion 360.
Glad to hear it and thanks for the view!
I lasered a silk screen on a pcb but it came put very inprecise and non legible. Maybe the laser is out of focus? How can i fix this?
There could be a few causes for this, the focus of the laser being one of them. You can twist the laser lens to focus it as described in this video. It may also be due to the PCB silkscreen file. We find that thinner lines typically bleed less and offer a more crisp result. If you continue to have trouble, please reach out to our support team and we would be happy to assist!
Got it thanks!
