What kind of a budget did you start with? Did you get investors, loan, or pony up the costs up front. Trying to do as much research as I can and make the plunge into opening a nano brewery.

Not at all. Anyone can own/have/sell used bourbon barrels for any purpose they want, although if you want to fill it with your own home made whiskey you're on your own...

Perhaps they paid for them.

i could be totally wrong here but isnt there a law to say you have to sell on or destroy whiskey or bourbon barrels in the united states?

My Business Ethics teacher basically called the cooperation between microbreweries an anomaly that could not be sustained. My answer at the time was that the products are often so different that there is less competition between local brands than between a local and another brand from two states away. It's not Odell's that you are competing with, it's Abita, etc. It's a big reason why I want into this business. I've seen Odell's chastise someone on their facebook for badmouthing Oskar Blues.

I have an odd question. I am up in Canada, but would like to sell my label in the US. Ideally I would like to have a good tasting beer behind it. Have you guys considered an open-source co-op to the public? A lot of the big names do this. The fine print tells where it is actually made, bur regardless, you guys are still making the majority of the profit. Just curious, thanks.

This was great to see. My brother and I are looking at one day opening a tap house that will cater to small brewers or nano brewers and then also keep 2 to 3 of our own. It's going to be hard work Im sure, but satisfying. Thanks for the vid.
