he really botched the solo on an otherwise great take.

Definitely my favorite version of this song.

Even as a stone cold junkie struggling mightily, I take JP over any other guitarist any day of the week.

Better than live aid, not as good as the song remains the same.

ran into pagey in Canada. 1980 1982 I forget when exactly, they were in the back for amplifier technical stuff. I came in lobby, saw an acoustic picked it up. made some noise with it. I'm here ! this guitar could get stolen so close to the front door ... Mr. James Patrick Page, "Put it down!". -not yours. doesn't belong to you. "It's out of tune! I was just ... " well it's not exactly out of tune. "PUT it Down ! Not Yours. He simmers down slightly gathers his composure, "I tune it that way". - put it down . sounds like a new hit single ! "Put it down"

Unbelievable! Almost supernatural talent. I love them then and still do. I'm a born again Christian now ... if only they realised what they were singing - or maybe they did.

Is the best band in the history!!

You know a guy is the best around when even his worst lead guitar playing is still highly compelling.

At worst this my 4th favorite version of by far most favorite song. MSG Song Remains the Same 1, Earls Ct 2, St Valentines Day 1975 LI Colosseum 3 (from 22nd row :-) This version is really as sensational of other 3.

I understand that this particular show wasn't one of their finest but hey, there ain't nothin' wrong with this SWTH. Maybe it's just me but I think this version🔥 cooks.

If I could go back in time this would be the place and time .where the time machine when you need it.

Getting back in to live Zeppelin, so glad UA-cam has put up so much… never heard a Stairway version with pauses and Bonzo yelling in it… that’s awesome, showed how much fun these guys could have… just a shame it also stressed them out and resorted to some hardcore drugs

Page was super erratic on this final ‘77 Zeppelin tour because of his heroin addiction, he could at times be shockingly sloppy, but he sure sounds great here!

Finally, a video where John Paul Jones is recognized. I mean I love them all but he was always under spotlighted.

Horrific, the heroin had already started to destroy him. This is terrible
