After my open heart surgery in 2019 cutting through my breastbone, I could not do pushups any more because it hurt my chest, and so I lost shoulder strength. Took me a while to figure out this simple exercise and it works well without putting any stress on my chest. I started with a mere 5 stretch outs, and added one or 2 stretches per week eventually settling on 50 twice a day, it really works...
