It has many names, bandurria, vihuela among many others. Also known as a Spanish mandolin. Tuned higher than a guitar. It's facing has holes that give it a unique sound.

I would love to get a close up on the whole Guitar to Tres Conversion showing the instrument in its entirety because w/ the full size body, it sounds quite beefy.
@@RockStarOscarStern634 Definitely. I will do that and tag you. It was originally a 12 string guitar. Bit of work on the fret nut and bridge saddle. Everything else fell into place. 🤘🍻🇦🇺

Very easy. Once one string is in tune, you tune the others to it. Time and practice. It's going to be an adventure restringing. Might even make an documentary. 🍻🤘

Fado. It's like a mandolin or cittern. Also called a guitarra.

And check out out the headstock. It was a common arrangement until modern machine heads were developed. Called Preston valves, they are like the dials in wrist watches. You tie a loop at each end of the string.

Yes. In standard about a third higher than a normal pair. Paired in unions. The Bandilla has 14, and the Viola Da Terra has 18. Different tuning styles.
