You mentioned in this episode 6 weeks to deliver something for TPE. I'm curious what is the mindset or thought process for delivering a LE for these conventions. Is it market analysis and/or feedback to what consumers are asking about? Is it tobacco you purchased and want to blend something specific to a quality tobacco that has been aged? You seem to want to do something different just to be different>

I've been enjoying wine for over 2 decades but just got into smoking cigars last year. Mil Dias Maduro was the first CH cigar I tried and since greatly enjoyed Juarez and Mil Dias Habano and working my way through your entire catalog along with OFC ... just ordered a 10pack of the Firsat and can't wait to try them out. Anyway, my question is this... How much do cigars change year-to-year? You've stated before it is an agricultural product so I can't help think of it like wine. Some years produce a more superior product and others don't.

I think you’ll find that things will bump up at next year’s PCA. One of the retailers I talked to said that he knew several that chose to skip this year because they just went to the last one less than a year ago. Sales at the show itself will probably continue to be lower than previous years, but those “lost” sales will likely be made up in the summer when retailers are burning through product.

This discussion was interesting. I wonder if there are conflicts with other trade shows. Cisco has a huge conference every June, typically in Vegas, though they move it around once in a while. And the tech industry does a lot of stuff through summer - I imagine it has to be the same for other industries. Still waiting for that Coroneta to show up so I can try it; been watching w/ baited breath.

I'm watching this episode a couple of days after pca, and here's a question maybe for your next episode. Do either of you feel the pressure to constantly be putting out new cigars? When we did some interviews at various booths this year at pca, some manufacturers, brand owners, apologized because they didn't have anything new. I thought that was strange that they were apologizing, so it makes me wonder if that pressure to always be putting out something new is real

Having EPC on as a guest to discuss how the blending process goes would be great to watch. I feel like so many new cigar enthusiasts are going deeper into the trail of how a cigar is created. I don’t mean the manufacture process but the creation of the blends. Thanks for the show though it’s fantastic.
