Also 6:50 the street length brick wall on the left of Mt Cook jail police station here (Tasman st) has alot of arrowed bricks..I suspect its the backdrop to the latter portion of your vid with the photo montage? Fabulous. Not dissimilar maybe to Hobart, that had public hangings at the courthouse and prison at the bottom of Macquarie St until living history.... (Going from recollection of facts i used to be more sure of, but have forgotten, and am still somewhat sure of but am too lazy to rediscover..... Only trying to tantalise any interested viewers)

Peter Methven's book 'The Terrace Gaol' is great read for anyone interested. I've always wondered about those concrete steps when I've walked past. Thanks to @kiwiwifi for passing on the comment that they led to the Governor's house. Great video!

That was very interesting thank you. My great grandmother spent six months in this prison in 1899-1900 for child abuse of my grandmother.

I used to walk past the house on my way to school in the mid to late 60’s. We knew it as the baby farm. Once the house was demolished the section was left for a year or two and every time it rained the mud from the site would run over the footpath. Eventually another house was built on the site.

I’ve had two jaaaaaaaags. Both XJ40 types. An XJ6 gold and a mid nineties XJR6. Both beautiful cars. The one I wouldn’t touch was the series 3. I thought they looked awful.

You cant use Jaguar V12 HE engines because they have heads cast and Made in India These engines drop valve seats...oder pre HE from.BL are much better

My bet is it will get a good crash rating. Please note the Australian models are different to the NZ model. You get one with a white interior, NZ one are all black. So there may be more differents. There are two models and the specification are different. The range topping Essence has more safety features. The Essence getting thing like 360° Camera, LED Headlights, Key-less Entry, Electric Auto Fold Side Mirrors with Heating Only the Essence gets LED Head light, LED. A lot better at night. We used run [on foot] cross country up there in the late 70s, No Bowes Crescent houses and growth up to the edge of the road. You could still see the white line up near the top corner.

Hello George. Thank you for this very interesting video, well done. A couple of points - the area where John Tuhi was buried at Karori is Anglican, not Catholic. Also, William Bannister was buried in Bolton Street Cemetery, with his wife Mary who died in 1856, and many other family members. Their grave still exists and there is a good photo of it on the Friends of Bolton Street Cemetery website.
