How long is your stem?
@@XvatosaiX 120mm. But I would have preferred a 110m. (Riding my arms are really stretched out)From the side it looks sliiiighlty too long. But the really short ones aren't as comfortable.
@@XvatosaiX 120mm is a great length for riser bars though
just built my wheel set following this steps, thank you. now i just need to build a truing stand like yours because the prices on those are too ridiculous for maybe a 1 or 2 time use. wish you had a tutorial in how to make yours.
Wow!!! What an honour! This makes me feel really inspired. I hope and trust it worked out well!
The Truing Stand was built in a hurry so I didn't think to document it, but it's a good idea. Ill make another one in the near future👌
colour ?
I can't confirm 100% the pink, but it is definitely the classic Keirin Sparkle
Great build. I really like that the frame had such great color and patina. The parts were normal parts, not the most expensive. This is a bike you would actually see riding around, one your friend might have.
@@robertkeller2309 I firstly just want to thank you for taking the time to watch. It means a lot. And secondly I also genuinely appreciate the kind words. That in itself is how I aspire to build bikes. Simple looking, easy on the eye, but upon closer inspection you are blown away by the smaller details

@@the6ig6adwolf BINGO!👌 I'm now running 52×13
@BicyclesbyJurgen I like your style 👌 Currently running 54x16 myself.
@@the6ig6adwolf wow thank you man. Very uplifting😎 I usually ride 48×17, but I want to build more leg/knee strength when riding and decided to go bigger(I am now using brakes though🤣)
@@the6ig6adwolf yesterday, two weeks after riding 52×13 I took a different bike with 48×17 and I was extremely disappointed. It was like riding air🤣
@BicyclesbyJurgen the most important thing to remember when moving to bigger gear ratios is make smaller adjustments rather than big jumps. You would never go into a gym and start with a 200lbs bench press. You may start at 80lbs and then work up to 120, then 150, etc. If you keep this in mind with your gearing, you'll definitely see results in knee strength and leg size rather than knee pain or other issues. It probably took me about a year to go from 44x16 to 54x16. Once I could climb every hill in my city with relative ease as well as controlling the cranks from spinning wildly on the decent(very important), I would then jump up 2-4 teeth depending on what chainring was available and in my budget 😆. You should be able to avoid installing brakes with this method because your leg strength grows with the gear ratio. Hope this helps. Have fun out there 🚴♀️
Nice 🎉
Thanks for the support🙏

The top tube dump is curious.
Yeah it changes the perception of the bike pretty nicely. The colours should help support the frame though(I don't like these colours)
@@BicyclesbyJurgen beautiful work!
Wow! congratulations for that great job! Would you mind sharing the tube diameters you used for the frame and fork?
@@MoteMat the frame was built by me in a framebuilers course. These are therefore not the standard track tubes(they are wider). I built the fork separately and used Columbus Max forks with a Kasei Fork crown
@@MoteMat for the standard steel track bike, check out: Track Supermarket They sell Japanese steel tubing and all dimensions are listed in the product description
Thank you very much for the advice and for taking the time to answer! Yes, that is precisely why I ask you, I usually restore classic frames that are quite thin but I loved the thickness of your tubes. It's like an approach to a classic frame with a modern touch and it looks great.
@@MoteMat ahhh okay. That's pretty ironic, because I was disappointed that they only had "modern" frame tubes as I wanted the classic njs style. I need to check at home if I still have the data sheet. Then I can gladly send it your way💪

Should never use grease on the tapers, especially that much- Cranks should fit dry. Also the lock pin on the chain is facing the wrong direction, the closed end should always be facing fwd, chain directional. Nice cranks the 7500👍
Haha this topic of grease is a hard one for me because of my experience with cranks not coming off. I know that I tend to over do it, but my subconscious can't stand a crank getting stuck to the BB.
Thanks for the tip about the lock pin. There I am clueless as I usually buy cheap ones. This is my first Izumi Chain
@@BicyclesbyJurgenIt's extremely rare for cranks to bind to a taper, unless they've sat out in the rain excessively or such. I don't see you treating your bikes like that, so there's no real problem with a dry taper. Greased tapers (as you probably know) can cause the cranks to bind too far onto the interface, causing splits, incorrect seating position...and coming loose. Yes I understand, in our heads, we want to grease something! that's what we're taught.
@@BicyclesbyJurgen How do you like the riding with the DA 7500 crank? It's nice right?
@@vanwilder1101 this is my favourite crankset of all. To be fair I don't notice a difference and I do switch bikes regularly. I just love the aesthetics of it. For me, the biggest difference in feeling comes from having the right BB Axel length and having a clean chain line
Can you move a little faster???
Of course. This was one of my very first videos. Changed a lot since then. Thank you very much for the helpful critique. Will take it into account when doing the next one🙏
Whats that thing at 1:35 for? What does it do?
This is a headset press. It ensures that the headset cups are kept straight when you install them. If you use a hammer to knock the cups in, you run the risk of installing them off centre. Damaging the headset and damaging the frame.
hi bro I'm new to fixed gear and bikes shop here in my location are too far if you don't mind me asking what size of spokes do i need for 50mm rims and high flange and the lacing is 3cross too I've been asking pple online and I can't get any answer
Hey man, wheels and spokes are very specific and individual, as each hub and rim type has it's own dimensions. My advice would be to Google the parts you have, then go onto any store website and write down the factory specs: Rim ERD RIM Spoke offset(only when present) Flange hole diameter Flange to center(if the hub is offset, eg by disc brakes) Spoke hole diameter - some you can measure yourself, but things like rime ERD is a factory norm Once you have these
Then you have to put these measurements into the spoke calculator and it will give you the exact measurements you need
Https://spokecalc.io
What were your values for the spoke calculator? Im building a wheel and my hubs and rims look very similar to yours
My spoke length came out to be 266mm but i was measuring everything with a ruler and im not really sure what size i should order really
It is very important that you take the factory given measurements. You need the rim *ERD* and the Hub Flange hole diameter. I googled the components and just looked in the description on the store websites. The usually have all specs at hand
@@noskinnoskin1957 the ruler method is REALLY SCETCHY, because 1mm makes that a spoke nipple is too long or too short and the spokes cannot be fastened securely
Step 1: get all the factory measurements for the various components(rims and hubs etc). Step 2: decide on what nipples you want and their length, this also influences the spoke length Step 3: add all information into the spoke calculator Step 4: oder spokes(if the spoke calculator said for example 20-20.5mm I always went for the smaller number.

Whats the Framesize of this mini max? :)
This isn't the mini max, the mini max has a shorter wheelbase. But I unfortunately don't know the frame size, as the bike belongs to a friend.
Thank you for watching🤙
Can you do this in 32 holes rim and hubs? Answer please
For a radial wheel, the rule stays the same regardless of the spoke count. You add a spike then skip a hole before you add the next spoke(each 2nd hole is free). Then you flip the wheel over and add the rest of the spokes into the remaining holes.
@@BicyclesbyJurgen thank you so much
