Videos of fun with my Siberian Huskies. Most videos feature skijoring or dog sledding with related stories at skijor-breck.blogspot.com. Other, non-skijoring, videos are general "good times" I have enjoyed with my huskies.
Pause, Go, Catch
Fun extended skijor clip from this morning's outing. For a little context, we are at the high point of our outing at the beginning of the clip. Jack & Rudy have turned around to GO but I have us paused while I adjust some equipment before restarting. So, if your volume is up, you'll hear Rudy protesting (by wooing) about how long I am taking. Then, as I rotate around you'll see what Jack is doing with my extended pause: rolling snow angels as he always does :)
Then, all it takes is one "Ok, here we go Jack." from me and he pops up from his snow angel and launches down the trail. Now watch the fun as we top 24 MPH in what I knew was a chase. "What chase?" you ask, well about 1m 8s into the clip and you can start to see groomer lights ahead of us until we finally catch the groomer and have to slow down. Jack & Rudy love playing catch the groomer!
For the curious, we know the groomer drivers from skijoring these trails for years. When the trail eventually gets wide enough for us to pass, the driver will pause and wave us on by. Then, the driver and I always exchange smiles & waves as we pass.

Coming Through

Nice morning for a skijor on the Sallie Barber Mine Trail with a light layer of new snow. Come along as we round a couple of corners and then floor it on a straightaway to eventually fly on by an oncoming snowshoer. Wheeee! High Elevation Skijor Fun

Skijoring at around 12,000 feet in elevation on a freshly groomed nordic trail topping 24 MPH behind wonderful Jack & Rudy on a gorgeous bluebird morning. It doesn't get any better than this!!!! Skijoring Breckenridge Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/
Second Tracks
Переглядів 66День тому
Skijoring a wonderful backcountry trail with Jack & Rudy as we are second tracks in the morning's new snow. Come along for the fun. Notice about 36 seconds into this clip and Jack & Rudy really floor it! Then, about 52 seconds in and I call out "Forward" to direct us that direction versus following the existing ski tracks to the left. After the forward I call out "Good boys" and then, if your v...
Crest and Go

Fun skijor clip as we start out cresting on the trail at the historic Sallie Barber Mine. Then, we take off on the other side of the mine. Come along and watch as there is wonderful light to moderate snow coming down around us all throughout this clip. What a wonderful morning to be a sled dog (or skijor dog, same thing :) Skijoring Sallie Barber Mine in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot....
Zooming and a Wave

Another zooming skijor day on great groomed trails at Breckenridge Nordic Center. If you look closely, you'll see the skier we encounter near the end of this clip lift his arm to give us a wave as we fly on by (look closely around the 43 second point of the clip for the wave :) Skijoring Breckenridge Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/
Top Speed: 24 MPH

Top speed skijoring with Jack & Rudy this morning? 24 MPH. Zoom! Come along and watch the action packed & fast fun. You'll notice that you see a lot more of my skis in this video that in most others. I have to be in a serious ski tuck to keep up behind the speed demons (thus seeing so much of my skis). Wheeee! Skijoring Gold Run Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/
Rodent Dive Comedy
Переглядів 1,7 тис.21 день тому
Every once in a while it is fun to show Jack & Rudy the comedians versus Jack & Rudy the hard working, hard running sled dogs. Come along for today's bit of comedy as the kids keep hopping off trail to search for pesky rodents under the snow. Rudy has wonderful, fox like rodent dives :) Skijoring Rabbit Ears Pass, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com

Bluebird Morning

Beautiful bluebird morning to skijor the trail at the highest elevation at Breckenridge Nordic Center (we are around 12,000 feet elevation on this trail). Great views when there are gaps in the trees. Great views of fast running Jack & Rudy when you can't see through the trees :) Skijoring Breckenridge Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/
First on Preston this Season
Переглядів 9221 день тому
Our first skijor on the Preston Loop at Gold Run Nordic Center this season. Yay! This is typically one of the trails where we approach or top 26 MPH skijoring at some point in the season. But, it's still November, so while the trail was great for running fast, it was not set yet for full throttle. Soon :) Skijoring Gold Run Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/

Let it Snow

It was a glorious & snowy morning in deep snow on Baldy Mountain. We love doing this mountain with fresh snow as it is very steep in areas and I need powder to slow Jack & Rudy down :) Yes, the camera gets blurred with snow partway into this clip. It was impossible to keep the camera clear for very long this morning. Yay for Snow! Skijoring Baldy Mountain in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogs...

Génial ! hello from France !
Ils ont flairé une souris 🐀🐭! ma laïka fait pareil. ☺
Oh yes, the definitely smelled a mouse!
Such adorable dogs :D
Love it
Thank Algorithm I found this
I'm glad you liked it!
speedy!
We usually top 26 MPH once or twice a season. When the conditions get nice (as in this clip), we regularly top out at 23-24 MPH. Whee!
Such goofs 😆
Yes, you can't pass up free food under the snow! Haha
I smell breakfast - Me too!)))
Exactly! Both have actually come up from the snow with a mouse or vole in mouth a few times; but mostly they come up empty mouthed, still worth a try whenever you sense them!
Love watching dogs work
And they love working!
Excellent. What a beautiful day!
Yes, the sunshine and the snow make for a perfect day to be out here!
Very 😎 🆒️ Are you on a 🏂 snowboard?
@graceironside1714 - I am on skis (classic cross country skis to be exact). Snowboard would be fun too!
Please love and take care of your beautiful huskies.
Bright sky, looks super crisp
Multumesc cu recunostinta si iubire ☺️💓🌷🌺🌸💮🌈
The pinnacle of Man's genius.
what I love about this…. Is that if it pans out I get to go skiing more often conveniently :)
pow-duh
Vrooom
Yes, they really like to floor it on safe/open straightaways!
Standard etiquette?
Nice view!
Looks like so much fun!
Weeeee
Beautiful forest where you are! Reminds me of the Adirondack Mountains here in NY. Not quite winter here yet though.
@daeclipse03 - We are in Breckenridge, CO. Trails were dry here just last week but it started snowing Sunday (Nov 3) and has been snowing every day since!
So cool, how long can they go for?
@symmetryox7184 - We typically skijor for 8-12 miles an outing.
Love to see dogs out living life ❤❤
Are you sleding or skiing?
I'm on cross country skis.
Please keep posting! You clearly have a great perspective to share. stoked for more skijoring next season but of course would like to see other videos :D
Well, I don't have much to post in the summer. A video of us hiking or trail running wouldn't be very interesting - it's no fun when you can only go "human speed" :)
I've never hit the like & subscribe faster. Looks like you and your kids were having a lot of fun on a lovely day :D Sounds like the snow conditions are getting pretty summer-y yeah?
Soo cool!
Awesome Brother! I wish I can visit You one day with my dogs and just go have some fun! Awesome trails and conditions!
@DogAdventuree - Yes, we have an awesome network of trails around here. If you find yourself near Breckenridge, CO, look us up!
F*** yea…
Looks so fun! Great video, cute dogs!
Thanks. It is soooo fun! They love to get out on the snow and run, run, run...
Looks like Jack trying to eat snow while running and Rudy - stop it we have work to do)
Yes, Jack often dips his head to get a refreshing mouthful of snow while he's running! Funny kid. Rudy always has "something to say" :)
Wicked? Are you from Massachusetts?
so cool!
Dogs are just the best thing ever
what a great job..... it's just amazing. if you want i can help you to grow your channel. i can do viral your videos in few days to the whole world. then your channel will be growing up a few days.
man you go fast
I'm just holding on behind the fun sled dogs :)
How long can they keep up that pace?
They'll maintain a pace like this for upwards of 10 minutes at a time before slowing to catch their breathes and then restarting fast again. Our typical outings cover roughly 9 miles.
@@bpsled Thats amazing!
With gas prices these days, this is the way to travel!
Very nice video.
Thank you very much!
Very beautiful video. 👏👏👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I used to do that on my skateboard with my mutt when I was a kid. Looks fun!
It's nice on snow because it doesn't hurt when you fall. I tried it with rollerblades one summer and, after 3 falls getting road rash on asphalt, I gave up :)
Does that thing steer?
I'm on skis (thus "skijoring"), if that is what you are asking. When we get going fast (as near the end of this video), you'll often see my ski tips come into view as I'm in a ski tuck. Otherwise, Jack & Rudy know left, right, slower, faster and a bunch of other "verbal steering commands" from me :)
Удивительный народ. Счастья вам.
That looks like fun!
It's a BLAST!
Im so jealous, what a cool lifestyle
Yes, we really enjoy "life in the snow" :)
