Videos of fun with my Siberian Huskies. Most videos feature skijoring or dog sledding with related stories at skijor-breck.blogspot.com. Other, non-skijoring, videos are general "good times" I have enjoyed with my huskies.
Dusting for Fresh Tracks
We had a nice little dusting of new snow just before this morning's skijor outing. As a result, we were able to lay fresh tracks in the new snow for most of the outing. Come along for a glimpse into the fun. The ski tracks you see to our left are our "out tracks" on this same trail. Nice when the trail is wide enough to lay fresh tracks in both directions. Wheeee!

Yay for Snowflakes
Переглядів 197 годин тому
It was snowing ever so lightly during this morning's skijor. But, any snow is better than no snow! Come along for a fun time watching Jack & Rudy fly along a wide nordic trail as they whip me around a tight left near the close of this clip. You can see the very light snow coming down - yay for snowflakes! Skijoring Gold Run Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/

Come and watch Jack & Rudy's idea of "what to do" with the warming huts we encounter out on the trails. Hut 1, Hut 2, GO - let's fly on by! Wheeee! Skijoring Breckenridge Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/
Fast Skijor

It was a fast day out on the trails this morning with Jack & Rudy. How fast? Well, the GPS clocked us topping 24 MPH! Come along for a glimpse into the fun. The second half of this clip is where Jack & Rudy kicked it into high gear and topped 24 MPH. Zoom! Skijoring Gold Run Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/
View & Go

Nice view of the ski runs of Breckenridge Ski Resort across the valley from us as we start this skijor clip. Then, after rounding a corner, the ski resort goes out of view so it's time to watch Jack & Rudy galloping along in this nice single track trail. Wheeee! Second Tracks

While we were not first tracks on this morning's fresh snow, we were second. But, with wide trails, we were able enjoy toes (and skis) on fresh snow most of the outing - come along and watch the fun! Skijoring Gold Run Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/
Zoom, Corner, Zoom

Fun stretch of trail at Gold Run Nordic Center where we start out zooming along a wide open straightaway. Then, we come to a tight left in the trail. I can see through the trees to determine there is anything big (moose, groomer, human) around the corner but cannot tell if there is something small (loose dog, porcupine - both of which have happened in the past). So, I lean hard into the skis to...

It was -11 (F) when we started this morning's skijor and -9 (F) when we finished. Along the way, we skijored up, so it got colder. To nobody's surprise, we were the only ones out on the trails this morning :) No complaints here, I dressed warm and we had a light layer of fresh snow all to ourselves; come along for a glimpse into the fun. Wheeee! Skijoring Sallie Barber Mine in Breckenridge, CO....
Fresh Tracks Saturday
Переглядів 39514 днів тому
It was a "fresh tracks Saturday" in about 2 inches of new snow this morning. Come along for a glimpse into the fun. If your volume is on, you should be able to hear the gusty wind blowing around us. If your volume is a little higher, you should be able to hear Rudy expressing his pleasure at the conditions at about 20 seconds into the clip. Talkative Rudy is never at a loss for words :) Skijori...

Fun skijor clip with Jack "taking off" ahead of Rudy and I! For context, we are rounding a small cul-de-sac the groomer uses to turn around. Watch as Jack is "ready to go" and pulling his hardest to get Rudy and I around the curve so we can take off. Rudy and I, meanwhile, are rounding the curve gently until we all get through and then Rudy joins Jack to fully take off. Whoa Jack, wait for us!!...
Mini Groomer
Переглядів 5221 день тому
Beautiful morning to lay fresh tracks in the morning's new snow over a mini groomer track in the backcountry. A mini groomer is a snowmobile towing a groomer sled; so the "groomed track" is the width of a snowmobile. I love how Jack & Rudy kick it into "high gear" for the last 20 seconds or so of this clip. Catch & Pass
Переглядів 17721 день тому
Jack & Rudy love to catch and pass anything on the trails ahead of us. Today's video highlight starts with us cruising a long a nice groomed nordic trail. A little bit into the video and you'll see a skier on the trail ahead of us. Well, watch as Jack & Rudy do what they love: catch anything in front of us! Eventually we catch the skier (of course), then we have to slow through a blind left cor...

Fun extended skijor clip from this morning's outing. For a little context, we are at the high point of our outing at the beginning of the clip. Jack & Rudy have turned around to GO but I have us paused while I adjust some equipment before restarting. So, if your volume is up, you'll hear Rudy protesting (by wooing) about how long I am taking. Then, as I rotate around you'll see what Jack is doi...
Coming Through

Nice morning for a skijor on the Sallie Barber Mine Trail with a light layer of new snow. Come along as we round a couple of corners and then floor it on a straightaway to eventually fly on by an oncoming snowshoer. Wheeee! High Elevation Skijor Fun

Skijoring at around 12,000 feet in elevation on a freshly groomed nordic trail topping 24 MPH behind wonderful Jack & Rudy on a gorgeous bluebird morning. It doesn't get any better than this!!!! Skijoring Breckenridge Nordic Center in Breckenridge, CO. skijor-breck.blogspot.com/
I have never been for a shed ride before thanks

So cool. Hello from Michigan
Thanks, we really have a blast out on the trails!
What preparations do you use for your skins on your skis? I’ve been trying out the Toko spray on stuff but not having the best of luck.
Actually, I use waxless cross country skis (classic variety). If the snow is wet/sticky, I'll apply a little Swix Glide Wax; that is usually only necessary in early (October) or late (May) season. Otherwise, the snow in Colorado is perfect to just glide along on waxless skis.
@ fantastic, thank you for replying. I will see about trying out some of the swix glide wax for my wet snow up here in Montana. Cheers!
brrr
Incredible.
Love it!
They sure love to run in the fresh powder!
@bpsled I've always enjoyed your clips
Glad you've been activated from IR! You three have been inspirational for me to get into the sport with my husky!
Thanks! It's great to be back out on the trails!
bet the dogs love the powder
Yes, they love running in fresh snow!
What run is that at Breck Nordic ?
At the beginning of the clip, we are on Heaven's Gate. As we transition right partway through, that it connecting onto Otter Slide.
beep beep~
Exactly! :)
Nice
It was a beautiful day to be out there!
LK PT
Such adorable dogs :D
Love it
Thank Algorithm I found this
I'm glad you liked it!
speedy!
We usually top 26 MPH once or twice a season. When the conditions get nice (as in this clip), we regularly top out at 23-24 MPH. Whee!
Such goofs 😆
Yes, you can't pass up free food under the snow! Haha
I smell breakfast - Me too!)))
Exactly! Both have actually come up from the snow with a mouse or vole in mouth a few times; but mostly they come up empty mouthed, still worth a try whenever you sense them!
Love watching dogs work
And they love working!
Excellent. What a beautiful day!
Yes, the sunshine and the snow make for a perfect day to be out here!
Very 😎 🆒️ Are you on a 🏂 snowboard?
@graceironside1714 - I am on skis (classic cross country skis to be exact). Snowboard would be fun too!
Please love and take care of your beautiful huskies.
Bright sky, looks super crisp
Multumesc cu recunostinta si iubire ☺️💓🌷🌺🌸💮🌈
The pinnacle of Man's genius.
what I love about this…. Is that if it pans out I get to go skiing more often conveniently :)
pow-duh
Vrooom
Yes, they really like to floor it on safe/open straightaways!
Standard etiquette?
Nice view!
Looks like so much fun!
Weeeee
Beautiful forest where you are! Reminds me of the Adirondack Mountains here in NY. Not quite winter here yet though.
@daeclipse03 - We are in Breckenridge, CO. Trails were dry here just last week but it started snowing Sunday (Nov 3) and has been snowing every day since!
So cool, how long can they go for?
@symmetryox7184 - We typically skijor for 8-12 miles an outing.
Love to see dogs out living life ❤❤
Are you sleding or skiing?
I'm on cross country skis.
Please keep posting! You clearly have a great perspective to share. stoked for more skijoring next season but of course would like to see other videos :D
Well, I don't have much to post in the summer. A video of us hiking or trail running wouldn't be very interesting - it's no fun when you can only go "human speed" :)
I've never hit the like & subscribe faster. Looks like you and your kids were having a lot of fun on a lovely day :D Sounds like the snow conditions are getting pretty summer-y yeah?
Soo cool!
Awesome Brother! I wish I can visit You one day with my dogs and just go have some fun! Awesome trails and conditions!
@DogAdventuree - Yes, we have an awesome network of trails around here. If you find yourself near Breckenridge, CO, look us up!
F*** yea…
Looks so fun! Great video, cute dogs!
Thanks. It is soooo fun! They love to get out on the snow and run, run, run...
Looks like Jack trying to eat snow while running and Rudy - stop it we have work to do)
Yes, Jack often dips his head to get a refreshing mouthful of snow while he's running! Funny kid. Rudy always has "something to say" :)
Wicked? Are you from Massachusetts?
so cool!
Dogs are just the best thing ever
what a great job..... it's just amazing. if you want i can help you to grow your channel. i can do viral your videos in few days to the whole world. then your channel will be growing up a few days.
man you go fast
I'm just holding on behind the fun sled dogs :)
How long can they keep up that pace?
They'll maintain a pace like this for upwards of 10 minutes at a time before slowing to catch their breathes and then restarting fast again. Our typical outings cover roughly 9 miles.
@@bpsled Thats amazing!
