Trig Substitution Integrals [ √(a^2) - (x^2) ], [ √(x^2) + (a^2) ], and [ √(x^2) - (a^2) ]
Hey Guys! Welcome back to my channel.
In this unit, we will be talking about integrating functions that involve one of the square root expressions
[ √(a^2) - (x^2) ] , [ √(x^2) + (a^2) ] , and [ √(x^2) - (a^2) ]
It involves trig in order to solve the problem, which is why I called it “trig substitution”.
I uploaded a free calculus textbook to my dropbox, you can access the textbook using the following link: www.dropbox.com/s/utdpj4n4f1h0izs/Jon%20Rogawski%2C%20Colin%20Adams-Calculus_%20Early%20Transcendentals-W.%20H.%20Freeman%20%282015%29.pdf?dl=0

Переглядів 5213 роки тому
Hey guys! Here is part 1 of the integration by methods tutorial. In part, I go over what integration by parts is, when to use it, the steps for how to apply integration by parts to an integral, and examples on how it works. In part 2 (the next video after this), I discuss helpful tips and tricks for tricky integration by parts problems such as when the integration by parts problem keeps repeati...

thank you so much, very helpful and demure
I love yooouu sooo much! You made this video easy to follow and understand the subject. I wish my professor took the time to do it just like this. My professor went straight into teaching it without explaining why she was using certain methods. I'm glad I found this video before my calculus finale, that is taking place tomorrow
Hlo mam on topic of disc ,washer and arc length k topics pr mra quiz ha kindly tell me what i do for the mcqs about this topic
this is the best tutorial ive ever seen tysm u are a queen
Girl this was so helpful but why tf you writing in sharpie im dying
Thank you so much, I watched all your videos from disk, washer, to shell and it really helped me A LOT. May God bless you and may God bless me with my exam today. 🙏🏻
literally trying to cram as much as possible for a calc1 exam tomorrow, and i'm so thankful to have come across these videos. thank you so much!
You are a LEGEND. Thank you
Late, and just finding about this method as I am doing this in Calculus 2. Love the method however one thing is i believe y= functions should have a horizontal strip as the function is defined for a range of x-values, and the y-values correspond to the output of the function at each x. So, horizontal strips (which focus on how y varies for each x) are the natural way to analyze these types of functions. In contrast, x = functions would use vertical strips since they are defined for ranges of y-values and show how x depends on y.
hi, youre amazing
This is such a nice way of describing when to use each method! I definitely appreciate it!
Still helping people five years later ashley
3 years later and she still saving lives, God bless you
I mean 5 years later
Great video, it helped a lot. Just one little mistake, for the problem y=3x-10 and y=6-x the lines are switched so it tripped me up as i tried graphing the functions by hand. Besides that all great stuff
Flow chart is awesome. Definitely using this. Thanks!
Thanks. The best tutorial I viewed so far. Keep it up:)
Oh my god, it's a very difficult material but you manage to simplify it. What a phenomenal video. You've just helped me to understand the materials under 15 minutes. This video deserves to be on top of the searching lists so that people can notice it. You have just saved me and my friends to comprehend the topic. Hopefully, you'll become one of the best math youtube channel tutorials in the future. I'll be watching A.S.A.P. Thank you so much 😃.
if the curve is xy=1, is the strip vertical or horizontal?
I wish I would’ve found your account sooner! You are TRULY one of the best at teaching Calc II! I’ve struggled for years trying to understand and got it instantly when watching your videos. You’re amazing and thank you so much for your work! :)
Excellent explanation🎉
Bless you oml you are such an easy person to listen to. Was reviewing for calc exam soon and this video summarized one of those sections extremely well!
Perdon
OMG THIS IS AWESOME U R AWESOME THANK U SM MUAHMUAHMUAH
This flow chart is a life saver for Calc! Thank you so much for creating this. I really appreciate it.
I immediately lower the volume of my device when you're about to draw a strip haha anyways, thank you for this, you delivered this concept well that made calc2 becomes easy
I understand it from u
Thanks❤
Thank you so much! This has been the best video on describing volume, you've helped me tremendously. My grade thanks you 😭✨
Unironically one of the most clear and concise calculus videos I've ever seen. If you aren't already you should consider teaching.
Thank you so much, your step-by-step explanation is incredibly helpful and makes this topic more clearer. Love the content!
Thank you soooo much
Thank you so much.❤
Bless your soul 😭
I just learned so much it's all clicking now!!! Thank you!
Thanks so much! This was so well formatted and easy to understand!
Oh my god You are my god
i have exam tmr and this literally saved me !!
The hidden heroes of UA-cam strike again! Have my first calc 2 exam in two days. Thank you so much!
What would u do to figure out where the strip is if you have an x= and y= equation? Is it horizontal or vertical?
I have to say, well done. This will help a lot of people.
what an absolute GEM of a video, thank you!
most under rated math video
Thanks for your explanation but I have a question You said that in the x-axis y is always 0 what about when it comes to y-axis what x will be?
Thanks alot maaam
This is the kind of teaching I can learn from.
Great work❤
thank you sm!
Your saving my calculus 2 grade! 🙏🏽
I APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH, it’s been challenging understanding this concept in class but your videos help so much!!!
This is probably the third time I commented on a UA-cam video in 10 years. I just had to, this is amazing. Calculus 2 is known to be one of the hardest classes you will ever encounter but you did an amazing job at explaining it. I am going to show this to my teacher because it's just too good. Thank you for the hard work you put into this video.
