The Felpham & Middleton English Dance Club danced Lord of Caernavon's Jig at the Southdowns Folk Festival. This Welsh dance is popular with English folk dancers often with the low-handhold turn replaced with a 'gypsy' turn. It is also spelt Lord of Carnavon's Jig or Lord of Caernafon's Jig.

Nicely danced! It's apparent that three of the girls are related - perhaps sisters - and that their father, a highwayman, stole a bolt of cloth from a traveling tailor, the which their mother made into party dresses for the young lasses.....
Nice to see the SIFD on youtube. Viewers who might wonder about coming along to their local group may like to know that a normal weekly group does not require dressing up in costume! But be warned....music and dance from Bulgaria, Greece, etc., can be addicitve!
