Think what we did to get semen from horses. We started using a dummy mare where the stud deposited in a bag thinking it was a real mare

Any reason why you’re not using gloves?
You can use gloves if you feel more comfortable. I have found, doing many collections, that gloves are more of an irritant to the stud than a help, in the process. If you wash your hands well, prior to collection, it should not cause issue. I have had 5 successfully AI pregnancies, personally, doing it this way. My opinion is, the less stress you are able to cause to the stud or the bitch, the more cooperative they will be, and the greater your rate of success. This is the same reason I mention using the larger silky bags for collecting the male. They do not irritate his penis as much as the regular vinyl bags.

Hello, Tim is watching to ensure that the male safely retracts and does not get stuck, which can cause issues with exposure.
@@CanineP4what if it doesn't retract or gets stuck, what is advisable then?
@@SLEV7NELEV11N The issue with some males is that the prepuce (sheath) may fold inward on itself as the stud's erection is subsiding, which can cause them pain and may cause damage to the head of the penis if it is exposed to air for too long. The simplest solution is to use a water-based lubricant and put a little on the end of the penis and gently massage the end of the prepuce to help pull it back over the stud's penis. In the rare event that the dog's bulbus glandis will not shrink (30 mins or more post-collection), you can use cold sugar water or honey and apply directly to the shaft of the penis to help the erection subside.

A breeder did a progesterone test and it was 4.9 ? So I took her to a vet , and they did a reverse progesterone and told us she’s at a 13.04 , so how do I know what she needs to be to be able to have her babies 😪🤦🏼♀️😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you in advance

I have the fine care 113 can that be used to test dogs progesterone test as well ? also can dog progesterone be tested on a regular human progesterone machine ..
Hi, great question! The Finecare Vet version can be used for testing dog progesterone, however the human version cannot be used for dog progesterone because it is calibrated differently, hope this helps!

They claim it is a dog semen analysis video, yet he uses dead semen, and shows VERY LITTLE BIT of semen, so you can't do/see any motility of the semen, and then he switches to a plant slide. Hello, generally we don't recommend the Finecare for surgical procedures, as vets will require a confirming number of their own before performing the procedure.
