The gov't should not have the ability to force us to purchase a service or good.

Marijuana is the least of anyone's damn problem. Alcohol is legal and alcohol CAN kill you. How many people have died from Marijuana? Why can you bring it into the cities and towns? Because States are more powerful than the Federal gov't. It has proven to be detrimental to society? How so? And since when has trying to force morality at the end of a gov't barrel worked? The gentleman from Brookfield is very confused. Marijuana has no toxin. It does not cause cancer faster than cigarettes, what could cause the cancer is the burning of the marijuana. So something like a vaporizer is risk free. Stop acting like people would run out to smoke pot if you made it legal. If people want to smoke pot they can get pot very easily. I could get any illicit drug in high school far easier than I could get alcohol. And ask the cops? Making pot legal would hurt their income, so of course they'd be against it. But not because it is any actual safety or health issue.

How to you score a teacher? Parents. A questionnaire on student performance can be sent out with the students to grade parents opinions on teachers, MCAS should not be a graduation requirement but a way to test teachers performance.

How to fix education? Parents need to be more involved in the school. From my memories there was one parent teacher conference night a year. Let's go for two to three a quarter. Parents need to be in the know, teachers should have to present the upcoming curriculum to the parents so they are aware of what is being taught. Further more no tenor, merit is how you should earn money. Hard work and sweat.

MCAS doesn't work. As someone who has graduated in 2005 from Worcester Vocational High School you are simply taught the test. You only need to pass two attempts at Math and Science. And the Constitution that Jen keeps referring to was not taught to me at all during my high school education. I have learned more in regards to practical knowledge that is needed within the workforce and to be a contributing adult since I have graduated.

So this woman is upset because a public school system that the town almost had funding issues with couldn't afford to dedicated a 1-1 teacher for her son? Is it the towns responsibility or hers? His needs not being met by a public school system? Shocker! Fun fact no students needs are being met the way they should be in a public school system. Why? Cause it's a public school system and the gov't is involved. Raise your kids it's not the tax payers responsibility to do so, and in believing the public school system has the means to raise anyone's kids is naive and foolish. When she is asked if she did this stuff at home "I tried I'm not a professional." Your the mother, guess what that makes you, professional. Lot of blame being placed on a public school system and no ownership on her part. What a load of crap this is.
