Thanks for the tour Crawford. What a fantastic building that must have been in its day but I have never heard of it. Love yer drone stuff. I keep threatening to get one but I'm feart.
Glad you enjoyed it. Go for it, get one - you'll love it 😃
Nicely filmed
Cheers Glynn. Turns out I filmed it just in time, they knocked it down shortly after.
interesting
Although it was situated at the park football pitches, it had nothing to do with the park itself. i believe it was connected to either the Gasworks, Chemical works or Papermill which used to operate across the road from this building on Dalsholm Road. I used to stay at other end of Dawsholm Park in the, what was then called the Curators Cottages at Ilay Ave.
Thanks for the comments Alastair. I think you might be confusing this building with another one though. This one was - it's been knocked down recently - only yards from where you used to live in the cottages. There used to be another, similar one at the other end of the park, close to where the paper mill was. That one was demolished a few years ago as well. Cheers, Crawford.
@@crawfordmilne1963 Ah yeah you are right, i have my bearings now, this is the old bothy which was in a yard not far from the Ilay Road entrance to the park, good grief it,s a total mess there now. I worked in the Parks and used this bothy many times, in fact my late Dad was District Manager of Dawsholm Park and had a small office here. You can still make out the green metal tractor sheds. What a shambles it is now, council have a lot to answer for. Thanks for posting Crawford and for fond memories.
Cool story Alastair 👍🏻
Wow, I will always cheer for you in Korea I'm looking forward to a great video. Have a nice day.
Csodás épület , a romok mögött látni a teljes szépségét .
Very interesting
Cool ruins,, really nice music....
332 skull and bones umber - time of your video
WTF ?!!
Ce un ruine avec un riche passe..ce domage ce dans cette etat
Me too
So beautiful still, shame just a skeleton!
When did it burn? All the damage shows the results of a complete inferno.
I don't think it was a fire. It was the usual 'roof tax' thing where they take off the roof so they don't have to pay tax on it, then the Council decided to start demolishing it and stopped shortly after !! It's a real shame because it could be an amazing building - for something.
What a building..... Well filmed
Excellent video...... one I have added to my to do list
Just great. Very well done🌻👍🌹🌟Five stars
I am now an old man
Very, very interesting to me as I am the direct 'in line' descendant of the Laird of Lennox. Thank you
:)
Esme Stuart if my 9th great grandfather . First Duke OF lennox
Are they going to restore it ??? They need to.
I doubt it very much unfortunately. It's been partially demolished and is gradually succumbing to the elements. It would take a LOT of money to make it habitable again. Pity, because it's an impressive building.
I would love to buy it and restore it
@@lordleroyyoung me too since he is my great grand father 9 times over
Hey I was there at the front in the pink bandana Did you film the whole show ?
Nah just what I put up in the video, I didn't want to be 'that guy' 😁🤟🏻
