    You’ve presented the 2 extremes… I hope my first launch falls somewhere in between! Thanks for sharing, Andi! My daughter has a business and her coach told her “People do not think about your business as much as you do. If you get sick of having to say it, keep saying it" 😀

    I commented too soon! I thought the episode ended but it was just the intermission😂! Thank you so much Andi for sharing your experience as well. Going into my first pattern launch hopefully next month, I’m already bracing myself for impact with my small audience. But don’t want to wait until the time is “perfect”. Your positivity is inspiring. And now I’m thinking about the 7 touch points and will start thinking about what I’ll post on social media. Very helpful! Also liked the tip from Tori on the one week a month to focus on building the email list!

    I am a 70 year old woman who wants to get my business off the ground. I have 25 quilt tops and I don't have longarm . I want one so bad and don't have the funds to get one.. I feel I can't pay any one to do that work. So how can I find a way to get a machine..

    • @quiltingontheside
      @quiltingontheside 4 місяці тому

      Time to get creative! Research business grants from your local Small Business Administration to fund the purchase of a machine. Barter for time on a machine at a local shop or with another longarmer? Maybe you could do the binding while someone else quilts? And many guilds have longarms that their members can use. We hope you find a way to take action!

    Isn’t it interesting how our children can inspire us to be brave? My daughter starting her own her business gave me the courage to start my side hustle in preparation for retirement. I had always wanted to own a business but my career has been very lucrative so I never gave it a chance. And now, I have the chance to invest in my entrepreneurial self. And, I’m a numbers geek in my work life (I’m a statistical analyst) so the data and analytics are one of my favorite things about UA-cam!

    Thank you for sharing your story. I think it’s funny that you’re encouraging the Door Dash person to leave their “stable” job, yet you are both sticking to your “real jobs” until further notice. It’s scary. I should know. I quit teaching 10 years ago to quilt full-time and I think back about all the time I wasted working for somebody else instead of myself. So glad I made the plunge, and somehow, we make it though each month with the lights still on and the fridge stocked.
