We caught up with Giulio Romano Malaisi (Acoustic Guitar) and his group Gypsy Dynamite at the Blind Bee club in London. Giulio gave a great performance alongside fellow guitarist Filippo Dall'Asta (Gypsy Guitar) with a live painting from Antonella Raimondo. A new song by Oscar Foxley, accompanied by the St Andrews Other Guys, tells the story of the Thomas Fredrick Willetts Foundation and of the mining heritage of Treharris. It provides an innovative and creative route to rediscovering the history of Treharris, all part of The Light project.
The musical and acting fields are strewn with endless stories of infidelity , Didn't Jackie and him start their affair while Tony was still married to his first wife ?..Don't know much about Tony Hatch but he is so well spoken, and down to earth and dare I say brilliant .......and he did write some lovely songs ...."Your the One " recorded by the Vouges is one of my favorite songs ,,,,,love affairs and relationships many times turn sour ,Jackie Trent and Tony Hatch I'm sure had many pleasant days together and did wonderful music that lasts
DON'T YOU KNOW that The Legendary Petula Clark helped Tony write "Your The One" and it would have been a MASSIVE hit record for her( I think it would have made the Top Five if not Number One) but Petula heard that a male group had recorded it and with undescribable kindness straight from Petula's heart she let them have a big American hit with this absolutely Superlative song.
@@DarrenPlumpton Don't YOU Know ..Petula Clark DID record "You're the One"..in 1965 ,ua-cam.com/video/zeukU-KOuMY/v-deo.html ..the same year the Vogues did...But theirs was a better version.!! I adore Petula Clark but some songs need the dynamics of group to obtain it's grandeur ....Most of the greatest singers of all time have done covers of songs groups had hits with , and while good ,can't obtain to the greatness of the groups original..The Vogues nailed "You're the One" ..just like the "We Five" nailed "You were on my Mind"...
Few writers are in his league. Pure genius.
Will love your songs always Tony !
YES JACKIE TRENT. NEVER MENTION. TERRIBLE
I remember in the 60s he was sometimes referred to as 'Britain's Burt Bacharach' because his music was sophisticated and beautifully arranged. 'Downtown' and 'Call Me' are two of the greatest songs of the last sixty years.
Don’t Sleep In The Subway in which Jackie Trent Wrote beats your two hands down
Should re name him "Mr Big Head" .......... not one word about his co writer of 30 years his wife then Jackie Trent ......... makes you think why he was married twice ? ........ and both ended in divorce ..... says a lot about the man ?
He could talk about the head of a pin and it would be interesting !
Thanks for posting this. Is that St. Paul’s in the background? I can’t get ‘Call Me’ out of my head the past few days.
Oh i wish i could meet him
Whare are you now my love Jackie Trent's NO 1.
without Jackie , his wife and co-writer for 30 years he would have been "the bloke on the piano" and worst of all he knows it !!!
pompous little 5'- 6" hopefully there is a meaning to " come uppance " !!!! Jackie Trent - sleep in peace beautiful lady !
what about Jackie Trent !! not a mention !! nothing surprises me about him !!!!
A VILE VILE EXCUSE FOR A MAN. THIS INTERVIEW SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ON UTUBE. ITS A TOTAL DISRESPECT TO JACKIE TRENT SHE WAS THE TRENT AND HATCH COUPLE NOT HATCH AND TRENT. THE SMUG LOOK ON HIS FACE SAYS IT ALL. HE WAS A NOBODY BEFORE HE MET JACKIE. HE MENTIONED ABOUT HE MENTIONED ABOUT HIS CHANCE TO WRITE FOR THE GREATS SUCH AS SINATRA. WHEREHAS JACKIE DID WRITE FOR THE GREATS. I COULD HAVE SMACKED HIM WHEN I FIRST SAW HIM WITH JACKIE AND STILL FEEL THE SAME WAY TODAY 2022 HE MARRIED JACKIES BEST FRIEND AFTER HIS AFFAIR WITH HER. AS FAR AS I AM AWARE THEY ARE STILL TOGETHER. ALL HE SPEAKS ABOUT IS PETULA CLARK WHO LOATHING FOR JACKIE WITHOUT KNOWING IT WAS HER SONG WRITING THAT IT WAS HER WHO THE STAR SHE IS TODAY. WHILE HATCH SAID NOTHING ABOUT HER TO CLARK THAT IS THE WAY HE WANTED IT TO BE. I GO BACK TO BABY LOVER ROMEO SAILOR ETC WITH PETS MUSIC. JACKIE VIRTUALLY BEING A NEIGHBOUR OF MINE WAS A FANTASTIC SINGER AND SONGWRITER AS FOR HATCH BEING IN THE HALL OF MUSIC IS BOLLOCKS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN JACKIE TRENT. THIS INTERVIEW NEEDS REMOVING AS WITH ALL OF PETULA CLARKS MUSIC AS BEEN REMOVED FROM MY MUSIC UTUBE LIBRARY. I THOUGHT BETTER OF THE WOMAN. AS FOR HATCH THE SOONER THE HYPOCRITES OUT OF OUR LIVES THE BETTER HE WILL SOON BE FORGOTTEN. WHILE JACKIE WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR YEARS TO COME. R I P ❤❤
This interviewer is atrocious! It seems as though she hasn't done any research and doesn't even know or appreciate who Melvyn Bragg is. He has an encyclopedic knowledge and she doesn't ask one interesting question that taps into that. What a wasted opportunity.
Inspiring :)
