United States
Приєднався 9 січ 2020
The largest non-government funded air & space museum with 6 hangars, 80 acres, 400 historic aircraft, 125,000 artifacts, and infinite opportunities for discovery! We're one of the world's largest aircraft collections including three hangars of World War II planes, the SR-71, world's smallest biplane, the oldest B-52 in existence, an Air Force One, the world's first 777, and much more. There are seemingly endless unique civil, commercial, experimental, and military aircraft here documenting the evolution of flight.
It's a Mirage! IIIRS
The Mirage Affair is not a scandalous tale set in Las Vegas. Dive into the history of the museum's Dassault Mirage IIIRS that went on display last year. It's not quite 108 anymore but you can still see this Mirage year-round.

Tom Wilkes of Guard-Lee, Inc. talks about the X-15 replica project as you watch it get loaded up to the NB-52's pylon that actually carried the X-15 during the record setting program. These flights achieved Mach 6.72 (4,534 mph) and an altitude of 354,200 ft.
Consolidated B-24J Liberator

The most produced multi-engine aircraft of all time has very few survivors. A few of those that did pass the test of time have an interesting story having flown for the Allies in WWII and then the Indian Air Force until the late 1960s. The B-24 Liberator at Pima Air & Space Museum has two paint schemes for this reason. Here's that story. Audio courtesy of the @damcasterspod and special thanks t...

PBY-5A Catalina Amphibious Airplane
Переглядів 1,8 тис.7 місяців тому
The most produced flying boat in the world with over 3000 built, the PBY Catalina was a major Allied asset in WWII. The PBY-5A version of the aircraft introduced an amphibious capability to the Catalina allowing it to takeoff from either land or water. Once they left military service, many Catalinas were bought for civilian use and could be found all around the world as everything from private ...

Dude that’s a sick video
I’m subbing the museum was sick when I went!👍
That looks fun!
I wanna know how much to use the sims
DCS MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️ (I want one of these sims so bad)
Is dcs the flight sim used for the military aircraft
That makes it all well worth the 900 miles to get there .
Man this looks like a hot rod. If runs as good as looks just imagine if opened war years.
Njegovim krilom sam ukrojio kokošinjac! Odlično je poslužio!
I Might go there next year

I like the canards they added, similar to the Israeli Kfir version. Canards really help rotate the nose up when you want, without pushing down too hard on the rear (non-minimum phase flight control in pitch, fixed nicely). Similar for down pitch, practically rotating the aircraft in pitch without much change in overall Lift until the angle of attack (alpha) bites, good handling qualities for the pilots to aim. ... Sweet design, fast plane. Very capable. And it's got TWO 30 mm cannons, Americans really wanted that gunnery package in VietNam back then when the Sparrows hardly worked and the Sidewinders were a bit unreliable.!!!
I seen that at your museum
777 LN1 actually never entered service till 2000 when it was sold to Cathay after being re-engined from PW4077's to Trent 800's. United only took LN2 and later airframes.
Another A20 DB-7 pulled out of a swamp at Goodenough island, New Guinea by the RAAF was completely restored and is on display at the RAAF Point Cook Museum near Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Then you're at the wrong page.
Very nice.
Beautiful work, Tom. I worked with the founder Ed Guard when he first started the business 40 years ago with Doris Lee. We built full scale Apollo, Gemini, and Mercury spacecraft for the Oklahoma Air and Space Museum. That got it all started. It is so good to see that you have kept the business going strong.
Cool 😎 👍
COOL
I remember when I was growing up watching documentary's of the X-15 flight with my dad.
This is very cool. Love the archival footage!
I visited the Pima Air & Space Museum in 2018 and wondered where the NB-52A was. I finally spotted it in the distance; off the museum grounds and in restoration. Having followed the program as a kid who built models of each aircraft, I was disappointed that I didn't get to see the real thing while I was there. But I will definitely return to see the restored NB-52A with the X-15 replica mounted. That will be a thrill!
Stunning is an understatement! That replica is absolutely beautiful!
That's pretty darned cool
America was the greatest on earth back in the 50s and the decline started from mid 60s and now it is a Woke nation that hates its own history and founding fathers.
Beautiful work. Only thing better would be a real one, but this is likely less mass hanging on the wing.
Incredible work, the perfect accessory for the well-dressed B-52.
Wow that is amazing looking. Great job to everyone involved 👍
Was so excited to discover this plane was no ordinary B52 when I visited with family last month! Sorry I missed the "model" rocket, but I guess it is a good reason to return.
The North American X-15A1 spurred my interests in aviation, rocketry, and space travel back in the early-mid 1960's. I have about two dozen models of the all three versions of the X-15. You made this 70 year old guy very happy. I can't wait to see it on my next trip to the museum.
My father flew on them as tunnel gunner and crew chief out of Gosfield. Some wild stories. He had great respect for his plane. His last one, Tallywhacker II, was retired after 100 missions, for metal fatigue!
When you receive the Martin Mars, where is it going to land and how are you getting it to whatever lake to the museum?
I love this Museum. It's my dream if I'm ever able to retire, to become a volunteer and spend my days there.
I was fortunate to see this aircraft fly into Tucson when I was 10!
I spent a lot of weekends in this bird with a gentleman named Warren Fink. We did a lot of cleaning inside this bird when it was Shoot Your Covered as it was in your picture of it backed up to the hanger. Man those were some good old days for sure. I moved to Ohio in 2000 and always wondered why there was a name change from the Shoot Your Covered scheme. Thanks for the background on this great ol Lady.
What a beautiful craft.
I remember when most of all the planes were outside.
Most still are.

As a kid I got to see the Thunderbirds in their F-4E Phantoms in the early 70's as well as seeing the Blue Angels in their F-4J Phantoms at the Abbotsford airshow. Both were very cool and impressive, and especially for a little kid.😊
18th JULY 2024….. First time seeing this….. My great uncle, served in the 5th AIR FORCE NEW GUINEA, 1942 / 45 Skip Bombing , 50. Cal Gunships … He was a photo recon picture developer… RECON , Before and After strike missions… Some of the famous photos of A-20 Havocs you see HERE DEVELOPED
A few days before this video was posted I passed this rig parked off the side of AZ93 a couple miles from Hoover Dam while driving from Vegas to Phoenix. I thought I was half-crazy seeing a wingless F-117 parked on the side of the road, apparently unattended. Now I know.
That’s my baby. Was right there the day she rolled out
Great, no nonsense episode of history. Thanks.
I was a controller at ZAB and controlled this aircraft many times. The pilots were always a pleasure to work while they were flying their practice bomb runs on multiple targets in the area. Very professional and flexible. Thanks for your service sir!
Thank you Lt Col Jon Boyd for your exemplary service. Thank ALL of you Soldiers for your service.
And this would be one of those “angry old white men” that “are difficult and suck” as Jake Reyna of the USAF DEI Office put it. 🤦♂️. Good luck hiring only minorities to replace all these badass mofos that are retiring.
Notice how the leading edge of the plane is missing. It's part of the "propulsion system", which is still classified top secret (Thomas Townsend Brown)
Pretty sure it's just classified materials, same reason they remove the inlet louvers, and paint.
@@darrengladstone3159 I'd suggest you do some more digging on leading edge electric propulsion and how it affects gravity, and the experiments by Brown, as I stated.

I've always been a fan of the f117. Beautiful aircraft
