I've always watched other people's videos while I work and think I have something a little different to offer. I hope to amuse and inspire. There won't be a definite program outline and the topics may be varied. Lately I've been decluttering my sewing room and making things from my huge hoard of fabric. They can be found on etsy www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Astitchinthesky . Our knitting group meets every week. We first got together in 2006. Quite often not everyone can make it. I did the first video for that reason. The group loved it so I thought I would share it here. Enjoy

Blanket is almost done. Need to work out the number of border stitches. It will keep you cosy when you are on camper van adventures. Love the squares. How about a retro sweater or tunic? Back to the sixties!!!
Your border should be straight forward . Its ok to cheat a little. I've Neen thinking about maybe a tank top or t shirt shape with the squares. I might tack them quickly to see how it would shape up.
Oooooo, that quilt of your grandma’s is so lovely! And that Strawberry baby hat is amazing.
Thank you, I have fond memories of my nanny. The quilt is special isn't it. A one off .
Holy hats - great time of the year for this season. 😂❤ Just air conditioning. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too .
Double knitting is very slow. The knack, I have discovered, is to hold the two yarns with my index finger between the yarns at all times so that they can be moved back and forth. Otherwise, it’s like very slow k1 p1 rib knitting. Teddy will have to wait until new year for socks and scarf. Merry Christmas fibre friends. 🧶🎄💝
I'm sure he will be thrilled when he gets them.
Merry Christmas 🎄 😺 🎄
Thank you 😊
I hope you feel better soon
Thank you, I'm not so bad now .
Love the new yarn and the Caitlin Hunter pattern! Do you remember the song called Daisy? It’s very cute and fits your cat. ❤
Thank you I'm busting to start knitting it but do have other things to finish first. Yes I sing a Daisy song to her . Also" what's new pussy cat", I'm always singing that.
That eucalyptus tree was really dancing! Was the sweater you were wearing knitted or crochet? ❤
It's mosaic crochet. Thankfully the wind has now stopped.
We missed you!
I'll make it sometime .
What a lovely show! I finally figured out where you live. I don’t know why I thought it was further south. Hopefully I haven’t said this to you before. 😂😂 The crocheted baby blanket and quilt sound fun. ❤ Your cat was hilarious! 😂😂😂
Thank you! I am in the North East. I've made one row of strawberries 🍓 and it's going well. The cat is either asleep or pretty crazy, very entertaining 😂
Beautiful Christmas tree 🎉🤩
Thank you 🤗
Your cat is perfect endingto the podcast, thank you !
She's great isn't she .
i love anything in suffragette colours. It is bizarre how women having those colours is seen as transgressive again, hundred plus years later. I adore the strawberry shoes too. I want some to wear as slippers
I had already knitted lots of purple ,green and white items before they became more significant to me. The strawberry shoes are cute aren't they 👶🏼
😢 Thanks for sharing the cathedral and the miners. Quite fascinating. Love the antler jumper. ❤❤❤
The miners gala is still held every year and I've never been to it. Maybe I should go.
So sorry to hear about the death of your kitty. She was very sweet. Loved the fireworks. Better than ours. I did like your purple crocheted sweater. I find it amazing we can frog old items. Very nice Tunisian sweater - I like that design.
Millie was very sweet indeed . We must be lucky with the fireworks then. The tunisian jumper pattern should be in a future blocked magazine.
@ Thanks!
❤What a cute cat. Looks like my old cat Fluffy. 😂😂😂 I’m glad it’s getting acquainted with you and the dogs.
@@Emmyemmcee cute from a distance and now purrs in the morning when we get up lol. I bet Fluffy was cuddlier.
@ He was and the best cast I’ve ever had. A very smart and friendly cat.
@Emmyemmcee our tom jasper was like that, very chill
I LoVed this Knitting news. I think the gingerbread was very cute. That gnome hat was very nice. Black and white cats are the best- your Daisy looks pretty spicy. 😂😂😂 I love your Tin Can Knit sweater. What’s four ply- is that worsted? Oh I love that West Yorkshire Spinners yarn - I haven’t seen that before. That fish line - wow that’s lots!!! Nice of you to pick it up. I thot you would use the strawberry buttons on the booties? They’re adorable! ❤ Your dogs are FAST 💨💨💨 I love the strawberry with the flower around it. ❤
I'm glad you loved it all!!. Four ply is fingering weight, it isn't always made of four plies . That's a bit confusing isn't it . My sweater is one I haven't worn much but should as it's quite luxurious. West Yorkshire Spinners yarn is really good quality. You're right I will need buttons for the booties but I have boxes full to choose from. The blond dog is a bedlington terrier/ whippet so yes she is pretty fast. Lottie the Bedlington is quite fast too, especially for a 12 year old. Yes the flower around the strawberry looks best so I'll knit a flower for the pink hat too. Thanks for all your comments 😊
@ Thanks for clearing that up. I love West Yorkshire Spinners and I have their variegated and lovely solid color hanks. I knit sox with it mainly and even a crocheted lap blanket. ❤️
Daisy is a beautiful tuxedo cat, she will warm up to youjust give it time 😺
Thank you, she is doing very well at settling in but we have to watch out for them claws..
That cardigan is lovely
thank you , im using the lace pattern on a hat to match , hope it works.
Did you see the picture of Prince William and the family for Halloween? Princess Charlotte has a knitted sweaters on that looks like a sampler. Would you happen to know the pattern and if anyone has copies of the pattern? I think it is GORGES!
ive just had a look, yes its lovely. if i find out ill let you know.
Sweet, sweet Millie. I'm so sorry you had to say goodbye. You gave her a beautiful home and so much love. Thank you for sharing her adventures with us. She will be missed. ❤
Its very sad but it was time. Our surprise new cat is nothing like her which is probably a good thing.
OMGG!!!!! That dress behind you is GORGEOUS!!!!!!
It's a ballroom dress, I have been altering it
It is great to find stuff that you list, misplaced or forgot about ❤
I’m so sorry about losing Millie. You made the last part of her life wonderful.
Thank you 😊 I believe we did.
I'm very sorry for your loss of Millie. I bet she knew that you loved her. In my youth, I had a cat which became 21 years old. I loved her too.
I think she knew. I had nursed her through a previous illness. If I sat down. She would be on my knee within 10 seconds. I do miss her 😔
Sorry about your cat Millie ❤
thank you, she was nearly 19
Thanks for sharing Millie with us and thanks for the fascinating cathedral visit. I love learning the history of places.
my History isnt great but its good to touch on subjects that might be of interest. millie has been an absolute pleasure to us .
So sorry about Millie your beautiful cat …..😢 my car Roxy is 15yrs and I am not ready for her to leave!!!! Eek!!! 🙏🏻🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
its so hard, the penalty we pay for having pets. one or our dogs is called Roxy, the blond one.
Just come across your channel and have subscribed. The quilt is beautiful - such soft, pretty colours. I’ve never tried Tunisian crochet so am interested to see how your sweater turns out. Where is the beach at the end of the video? I was born in Northumberland and lived in the North East until my late twenties. So nice to hear a northern accent. I’m with you on card only payments. We must pay with cash wherever we can otherwise risk losing it altogether. Happy crafting, Margaret
Hi margaret, what a lovely message. I'll wear my sweater next week, it was pretty quick to make and is a good fit. The beach is at Seaton Carew, I'm on it almost every day with the dogs. It's good you like my accent. I grew up in Oldham so I'm a bit of a mix. It's probably not legal for places ro actually refuse cash is it. They'll do themselves out of business also which is foolish. I've insisted on cash for skeins before now. Keep up the good work Annie
I love the sound of the sea.xx🐝🐝
Me too, I fully appreciate living so close.
Just had my breakfast watching you.xx🐝🐝
I do hope that was a good experience xx
Nice jumper 😍
Hehe bit itchy 😅
Oh I love the quilt and the sweater you’re wearing! ❤❤ Dogs in untracked sand! And you’re so brave to speak up on Let Women Speak!!!! I love an itchy sweater! I grew up wearing them and they’re so warm! All those interlocking fibers! ❤❤
I'm really glad you liked it all moira . Hopefully my daughter will have fond memories of wearing her itchy jumper .
@@astitchinthesky4212 I’m sure she will! 🤗🥰
I received the baby knit book in the mail and you were right, there are several patterns that I like. Thank you for the recommendation ❤
Oh that's good. They're really quite different aren't they .
You are welcome. I am seeing strawberries everywhere❤
That will be the algorithm. ❤️
Not always a bad thing
Those evening photos are stunning!!
@@sandraponte3121 thank you , we have seen many beautiful sunsets there.
Thank you for the update! Love the pics of your vacation. The baby cardigan looks great! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Your baby sweater is cut, is it a vintage pattern?
Hi its from a book called lullaby knits by vibe ulrik sondegaard.
search.worldcat.org/search?q=bn:1908449381
@@astitchinthesky4212 I just punched the book, love that sweater pattern. Thank you !!!
@simonamaloney5258 there's quite a few lovely patterns in it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
The gray works well
@@naryaknits thanks, better than ripping back too.
Loved your podcast. It’s quite lovely the shell stitch. Is the blanket it’s around crochet or knit? I like the doggies and cat together pix! ❤❤❤
The blanket is crochet from the centre outwards so can be as big or small as you like . The pets are sweeties 💕 glad you enjoyed it 😊
I love pink and gray. I just finished a pink and gray baby blanket
It's a classic combo isnt it. I hope it works out.
Your little doll is made in the town a bit from me. So excited to see what you’ll do with the baby sweater. maybe short sleeve?
Thats interesting ! Its too cold here and quite a thick yarn for a baby. I might get as far as I can and use another colour.
Hi Annie! Glad to hear that Lottie is feeling better…your gravy story is so typical of 🐈 😅. I wonder if you just shortened the sleeves a little if you’d have enough yarn to finish the baby cardigan, and maybe if you stitched it together with a different yarn? Just a thought 😊
Check up today for lottie. Cats are so funny aren't they. The weather will be cold so I'm not thinking short sleeves. I'm wondering how much they will care if the edges are another colour. I had imagined a perfect pink cardigan though.
Lovely outing! Thanks for taking us along!😊
Thank you. I think I walk too fast but good to try.
I had a Border Terrier and she would growl etc when clipping her claws. I was the original owner - I think terriers are just that way. I’ve had lots of dogs and never had any as unhappy when clipping their claws.
Lottie was a savage 🤣 she's much better with this device . They're sensitive aren't they . Maybe the terrier in them.
Haha! ❤
We have a bigger version of thr bridge here in Sydney hehe!
Northumberland St? Is that the main Rd you’re talking about? Is Fenwicks still there? And John Lewis in Eldon square? That used to be ok? I live inSydney now 🌈✨👌
Yes wasn't there little snippets on my video. I went up there and through Elton square back to grainger market. Is it a long time since you were in Newcastle?
That market was amazing, thx for taking us with you!
Glad you liked it. It's a shame some of the stalls aren't being used. There's still a lot of atmosphere.
Great Interview Annie & Neil!! loved the history connection with the Civil War. My family had just gone to Gettysburg, PA this past weekend! (Battle in the Civil War) So this timing was spot on!! 👍 Thanks for all the research, enjoyed the history.🇺🇸 🇬🇧
