12 years later haha, would you recommend? Looking to get one for my GT, keeping the resonator.
Haha, my ear has changed over the years, and being much older now, I would not recommend it. Due to it being extremely loud, and I do recall it had a terrible drone. Even with the resonator in. However, I'm sure there may be newer quality axlebacks with drone canceling technology these days.
hey man - awesome car! Did you have a tune done after install? Also are those 57crs? Thanks,
2023 WRX and did not take me long. First upgrade was exhaust and this week steering wheel, intake and Billet Works short shifter and rain guards. Car was made to modify and customize
Very nice. Can u send a pic if ur car with the flat black rays wheels? I have as white 23 and my fisnxe so let me pull the trigger until she sees pics of a car. lol
Loving the sound! Just curious as I couldn’t find the wheel fitment and the tire size for your setup? Super flush! 🔥
definitely the exhaust i,m getting for my 23 premium 6 speed, gonna go great when i get the cobb stage 2!
only the catback instlled for the take off and flybys?
Yeah, Its just the catback exhaust on it.
I have the same thing on now and it's so quiet in the car. I may have to have someone drive my car so I can hear the tone in real time from the outside lol@@ThatWrxGuyy
Bought it from AWE but Fedex lost it overdue 4 days now.
The anticipation must be real. Hopefully it shows up soon man. Youre going to love it.
I have the GT with CVT and this is the exhaust i went with. First i tried the ETS with mufflers and it has horrible drone at 2k rpm. This exhaust has no drone at all and sounds awesome while accelerating.
whats on your gas tank that gives it the cool matte black with stripes
Мечта❤️🔥
Is it lowered?
The car? Yes
@That WRX Guy looks great 👍🏾 For a minute there I thought you had 19' or 20's to fill in the gap. Got a white wrx too and not sure what wheels to go with...so many options
Where did you get your wheels at and did the TPMS sensors work with your car or did you need to have them programmed?
I ordered them from Import Image Racing - and I'm not running any TPMS. Don't really need them since I adjust my pressures often for AutoX
Sounds and looks great
sounds good!
All the coolest VB owners go with that beautiful ceramic white 😎 😅
I went blue sapphire and iam cool too🥺🥺🥺
@@LagunaOba yes you are! Just not the coolest 😎 lmao I love all of em
Such a generic and safe color.
@@OsightblinderO what color is yours?
do you have stock down pipe and j pipe?
Yeah, those are still stock, for now
does every Ti piece need to be "burnt"? Sure, it makes it look more interesting than regular silver looking Ti, but looking more interesting isn't necessarily better...plus, it lives behind a center cap 97%-98% of the time. The only reason to burn Ti is to impress others, imo of course
Burnt is for looks, that's precisely what I wanted it for. I don't run center caps. Looks cleaner open to me
any drone at higher rpms or freeway speed?
No drone. Love this exhaust. I'm only in my 30s, but I can't stand loud exhausts with drone. So this is perfect for me.
@@ThatWrxGuyy Does this drone during start up like the OEM Stock exhaust? (Around that 1500RPM range)
@@BlackBruceLeeTheGreatDekuTree sounds similar to OEM but louder. Take about 45 seconds and it's warm and tones back down
Any other VB exhausts that you can compare to?
Not that I've heard in person
What's your wheel and tire specs?
Gramlights 57 CR, 18x9.5+38 265/35/18
Sounds killer, sweet looking ride. I almost got one but those damned flares 😝
@awetuning get this man a commission I ordered mine like an hour later
what did you do to eliminate leaks at each of the slip joints? my VA touring leaks at all of the slip joints. word to the wise...you need to clean the chrome tips often because the soot will cake itself to the inner lip. ask me how I know. my touring has been on for 45k miles and the inside rip lip is more or less carbon black. the outside cleans fine (w/AWE tip tonic). be prepared to clean the tips weekly to keep them shiny.
I moved the clamps to the very end. It has a small leak at a few points. But nothing detrimental. And I've had a few exhausts, they all cake on there. With my other car and chrome tips, I wash it maybe once a month. I just spray degreaser on the tips. Or do a weekly rinse off to keep the soot away. But I think switching to the black diamond tips will help eliminate the inner soot eye sore.
Super jealous. I want this exhaust but kind of expensive
Love it.
The first exhaust for the VB that actually sounds very good imo! Cant wait to hear the track edition
Great job!!! I think you did great documenting everything!
This sounds amazing. I was going with Invidia until I heard this
Definitely go with this! I had invidia on my 2016 and had to get rid of it. And if the touring is too quiet, you can always swap to the track
Thanks for the 6:40 mark info. I’m always a dessert before dinner guy.
Lol, same here haha
Lmao
Out of the exhausts that came out, this sounds the best so far. 👍
What jacking (Lifting)points did you use to put on jack stands? Thanks
Under the rocker panels, there are jack points behind the front wheel and in front of the back wheels
Did you lift each corner? Then place stand. Thank you and great video.
@@JohnnStamos you can jack up the rear from the diff and place the jacks under the pinch welds. Or jack it one side at a time on the pinch welds
@Jessy Katsapoulos or get quick jacks haha. Im trying to get myself some because of how often I jack this car up
Too ricey
The rice is also coming from the headers. They add a bit of rice. Without upgraded headers the catback is very refined and quiet.
The car already had close ratio shifter. Do you notice a difference?
Huge difference. Shortened all the throws tremendously. No more sloppy shifts.
nice video man! make sure to take a punch and dent in the lock on the new nuts. looks good tho.
Nothing a dab of blue Loctite cant handle. Not going to dent $200 Titanium lol
When you run out of things to do to your car. Looks good 👍🏻
HAHA, Precisely
it would be so much easier to just cut the shaft an inch and a half and then rethread for the grip 😃
Haha, That would be great. After doing it once you can take it apart in under ten minutes the second time.
What’s the ride quality like on the 2022? I’ve heard people say it’s overly stiff feeling every bump on the road
They may be comparing to a higher level of comfort vehicle. If I compare this to the VA chassis than the ride quality is astronomically better than the previous generation. road noise is quieter inside the cabin, thicker door panels, seats are more comfortable, more leg room and slightly larger feeling in the cabin. and its not overly stiff IMO. However, the electronic power steering is extremely sensitive. I wish there was a way to stiffen the steering. I read the GT version has those capabilities or the overseas version that does.
is it just the camera or the 2016 look kinda off white?
The 16 is pearl white. I notice it has a yellowish tint on it while it's next to the 22
Sounds great, honestly. Nice mix of engine and exhaust.
Thank you, It does drone on the highway but thats from the catless downpipe.
I'm getting one in auto blue color! I live in a busy city not getting manual since I'm lazy lol
Haha, I get it. Luckily I don't deal with a lot of traffic during my commute. I do miss having an automatic car though. Might trade in the VA if Subaru releases a new baja.
To me the 2022 looks better. I had a 15’ Sti and always thought it looked a bit plain. Toyota Camry ish. The face lift helped but not much.
2022 is up to date. The longer I have it the more I love it.
Awesome!! I just picked one up exactly the same and I love it too! 😃👍
Do any of the old wrx parts fit into the 2022?
A few of the engine bay mods did. The Oil, washer fluid, brake fluid caps were all interchangeable. Thats about it. Suspension and exhaust are different
I would’ve updated with Brembos before the wheels those oem rotors will be vibing in 12,000 miles.
If only they had a complete replacement kit that didn't cost $4 - $10k. Id be all over a kit if they were within a reasonable price range
I have the same color and trim with the CVT and I absolutely love it. Put a set of Motegi MR147 on it and they look great. After many years of driving a manual on my long commute the CVT is a savior. Subaru is the best in the business when it come to the CVT.
2022 looks far better
My Solar Orange Pearl GT is going to be here in July and I’m stoked. I’m too old to “mod” it…that’s more for the younger dudes, not a 50+ year old recovering hooner with a schoolteacher wife, but I love watching what you guys are doing to these things. I can’t wait to watch your progress. Subscribed.
For me, the new one looks miles better, I liked it since day one, all the hate that was spread on the internet, especially UA-cam,are by tuners who are brainwashing people to buy their crap.
Peak torque at 2000rpm, more linear delivery, 2.4 engine makes it worth it already. Right now is only at 12psi boost peak, definitely more room to play with. Looks is subjective and can be fixed, ask any outgoing wrx/Sti owner how their car fairs when the AC is on, the hesitation of power delivery. Change is always good.
I'm at 14.7 peak boost on mine prior to any mods, but since added an exhaust. I agree the FA24 is going to be a much better engine moving forward.
