It’s awesome to see catch and release become more of the culture in Louisiana. Far too many people with greedy mindsets when it comes to harvesting fish. Besides, trout doesn’t hold up that well in the freezer. If you are fishing for meat go after drum or sheepshead

I agree Cliff. The Louisiana mentality needs to change. We keep plenty of fish to eat but throw back all the bigger trout too

@ wish mine was I only Go out with the LOUISIANA FISIHING PRODUCE MAN ( awesome Guy) once In a GREAT while and at this point ive RUN dry on trout In my freezer lol! But im alway willing to split the cost on a fishing trip just to split wat we catch ! You see I LEFT Louisiana In 90’-91’ and moved to Arkansas for 12 years and sold my bay boat and my 16 ft flat boat ( or Jon boat ) and when I came home In 2001 ive been unable to purchase another decent boat to Go out In ! I did buy a 17’ bass tracker from a local car Dealership that they took on trade but really havent been able to get it fish ready ! So ive only gone out maybe 3 Times since 2001 and thats SAD but at 65 u dont have the umpth to Go out and work on ur boat after u work 46 hrs a week ! I know I sound lazy but by the time the weekend rolls around im ready to rest from a hard week at work as a Cabinet Builder and installer . I Love my work and im really good at what I do and I give it my all all week while this younger generation just sits back and watches u bust ur butt and they just sit on their BUTTS ! Times ate different today and its a good thing I LOVE WHAT I DO ! Long story short the main reason I came back home is the saltwater fishing that I did all my younger life with my dad when we had a camp In Leeville near Grand isle , hes been Dead since 86’ so it was on me to keep fishing after his death but when I sold my boats and moved to Arkansas that ended that life ! I have all my rods and reels to Go but dont Trust that bass tracker to Go out In at least not yet lol! So my Friend if u ever need someone to split a trip with u just text me at 225-910-5320 , I live In Holden , La. but will meet up anywhere u need me to. Take care buddy

I agree brother ! The cost to go out and catch those trout kinda squashes the whole “ THROW THE BIG TROUT BACK !” Idea! I agree those 20”-21” trout make for nice fillets! No shame here on keeping 20”-21” trout!

I like cooking fish. I do it at least 3 times a week.

@@GrassBandit i mostly steam them in a steamer, then add soy sauce and green onion. I remove the scale first and steam the whole fish. I will do a catch & cook video next.
