I have a friend (Classical Player) who only changes the three bottom wound strings... he said "The clear strings really don't age and the guitar stays in tune quicker.... hmm
Fantastic job 👍🏼💯‼️🥰 everyone
Nice
excellent video
I got one of these at a pawn shop that is missing the saddle. If you could give me the dimensions of your saddle, it would help me make fit a new one. I understand if you don’t want to though. Thanks in advance.
I also have 1977 Taiwanese G55-1 A (I think its the same?) - My saddle measures 79mm wide x 2mm thick. Height is 8mm for low string end sloping down to 6mm at high string end. G-String saddle is intonated the full 2mm width. Hope this helps.
@@montmuse thanks so much for taking the time to measure and reply. I think that will give me a good starting point, I’ll just sand a little at a time.
without the Yamaha word under the tuning fork I think its a 1973- I have a 1974 FG-160 June /06 - 562nd made -- yes 3 is 1973 the Number at the brace is serial number. the number on the head stock is just sequential however they stopped putting the T prior to number for Taiwan in 1973 your guitar was made 1973, jan 11- it was the 645th guitar made. enjoy
I had the one tube AM radio P Box kit.
Drum tech? Because you loaned him a pedal? Uh.....
Bbgggggujkkoo
Good advice. Thanks .First: I'm sure you could do a video about the most frustrating part of playing in a band, namely, booking gigs. Second: Something many bands fail to comprehend is the idea of Dynamics. You shouldn't expect the sound guy to control it. It should be done internally. When the singing starts, play softer! Third: I see nothing wrong with putting your own spin on a cover tune. Make it your own. Just my opinion.
I can cope with you being nervous and talking really fast. But slapping your legs with your hands is too irritating for me to deal with.
Everyone's a fucking critic.
Great Advice!
Partridge Family made some great baroque and sunshine pop. Got no respect.
What’s the sound of the guitar like? Play some please
I use to own a 14 fret Ovation Legend 12 string. It was a decent guitar
12 string guitar players spend half their time tuning and the other half playing out of tune....i have 2;a rick and a guild.
Sir please take your guitar to a real lu thier
Sure, your guitar can be fixed. That guy didn't know what he was talking about.Your guitar can be fixed
I'm glad you mentioned the Partridge Family. At the end of the show it mentions "Guitars and Amplifiers by Ovation". You can still find Ovation guitars and a few amps (apparently not as popular) on the online musical instrument sites. On one episode, it shows Danny Bonaduce "playing" an unusual bass. I looked it up and it was an Ovation Typhoon bass. Also, it shows a super cool electric guitar called the Ovation Deacon. Thanks for sharing!
I once had a 6 string Ovation Glen model. I wish I never sold it.
I have a '69 Glen Campbell six string, non-electric. Had a new neck replaced by Ovation when they were still in New Hartford. Had them refinish it a second time when Delta left it outside my sister-in-law's house in the Connecticut winter. They could fix the soundboard for sure. Took a tour, great facility with cool technology. It was disappointing when I heard they closed the factory. Still play it today.
Bridge Doctor?
Righteous. I recognize that one
Smoove...
This song ?;! Was Not Much. The vocals are terrible here.
well done guys....
Very little camera focus on the keyboard player who is providing most of the chordal foundation of the song lol That's how it usually goes Good cover though
Love it..I have two old Epiphones... They are pretty good guitars, no doubt.
I still own my FT120 that I bought new in 1978. Still a great sounding guitar.
Yes, it's a great guitar, I still play it and I plan on posting more videos with various instrumental songs. Thanks for watching!
It looks like colds peak
You change bass strings? I get 5 years out of mine! Lololol
Music, electronics and nature!
Nothing will sabotage your guitar playing more than trying to play a bass line simultaneously on the back of the neck using your thumb 😢
Very cool stuff 😎
The inside machinations of that Zenbox are so fascinating. What time does the Video start?
MORE COW BELL !!!!
Amazing to see you on stage! Love it. I would so come see you play with them
Love it!
Love this!
Great content

Good Job
nIce job guys!
Thanks! Is this the Ken Sharp who wrote the Raspberries book?
@@chrisdehaas yes that’s me.
@@sharpguitar Hi Ken - thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it, and I have your book. I want to thank you for putting that together, very cool!
As a guy that grew up in Willowick listening to my favorite band. Thank you for keeping Eric and the Raspberries music alive. Please don’t quit, you guys are great. Just wish I didn’t live in Pinhurst NC so I could see you live
@@marckajfez3428 thanks! I'll be posting videos from a show we did last night 4/19/2024 at the Music Box in Cleveland. Or you can also see them on my facebook page.
Getting there! Vocally, one of the hardest in the repertoire...so high!! Keep the music alive folks!
Who doesn’t love the Raspberries!
Way cool
Sounds like my first guitar, a Norma. LMAO I had a Teisco back then too. God that was awful.
I got lucky with this one, it's always sounded good since I got it and has played really well without a lot of adjustments. Thanks for watching!
what strings are on it? sounds beautiful
I think the strings are basic Martin Acoustic Strings, light gage. Thanks!
I have one of these that I bought used back in the late 1980s. I bought it from Motor City Guitar in Pontiac, Michigan. It still sounds good for a laminate construction guitar, but the action has gotten higher over the years, so it isn't as comfortable to play (I've already lowered the saddle as much as possible).
Hello Gary - my Yamaha has stayed pretty much the same since I got it, the neck is straight and the action is great as is, I have not adjusted it at all since I got it. I plan on posting more videos of this instrument with some songs (after I change the strings which are pretty old!) Thanks for watching!
your guitar need a neck reset after 30 year
By chance did he ever use a red and white kalamazoo guitar ?
Hello - I don't recall him using a red and white guitar at that show. He was just playing acoustic guitars. Thanks for check out the video!
