Ghana cedi is a junk currency,never you forget that currency value aren't in their numerical numbers but purchasing power. Years back 1$ was exchanging for 10,000.Ghc , Ghana government felt embarrassed with the country having too many notes for transactions,then they rede-nominated the Ghana currency cancelling 0000 to make 10,000.Ghc to be 1.Ghc... the rede-nomination doesn't change the cedi value but mere numbers for easy transactions... After the rede-nomination 1$ automatically became 1GHC, today 1$ is now about 17.Ghc ,in actual sense 1$ should be 170,000.Ghc when you bring up the hidden 0000... After the rede-nomination someone having 10,000.Ghc in his or her bank account automatically get 1.Ghc without change in value ... The Ghana minimum wage is 18ghc per day.. what matters in a country economy is how much you earn in comparison with what you spending on basic commodities,on this bases the cedi is among the bottom weak currencies on the continent
