    It's not the dpf, the dpf is at the end of the chain. Cleaning the dpf will help but it hasn't fixed your problem. The dpf cleaning people are not telling you the truth, if the dpf needs to be cleaned you can guarantee that the inlet manifold, EGR and all other interconnected parts need to be decarboned. Yes, cleaning the dpf helps but if you do not clean the inlet manifold etc you will be down on power and fuel efficiency and over time the PCM will start throwing other fault codes. Mazda have recently issued a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) that says the 2.2 skyactive diesel engine MUST be decarboned every 60k kms. Whilst you may get fault codes, its not until the check engine light goes on that the ECU activates limp mode. The first time you checked your MAP sensor, if it was carboned up then everything else is carboned up, GUARANTEED!!!! Most SCBS faults come because of PCM faults (caused by carbon issues) or a faulty brake booster. Check your brake booster values. Check your injector washers and injector values. Anything faulty with the injectors leads to serious oil sludge build up inside the camshaft cover. Update your exhaust pressure sensor. Check the exhaust pressure extension pipe (try to push air thru it), if you can't push air it is blocked with carbon. Check the exhaust cam shaft (either by removing the camshaft cover or with a scope thru the injector ports and looking at how the exhaust valves open compared to the inlet valves), a very high percentage of these engines suffer from worn lobes on the exhaust cam shaft. If your exhaust cam shaft is worn, check the exhaust valves to make sure carbon hasn't got into the valve guides causing the valves to stick (with the exhaust camshaft off you tap the head of the exhaust valves with a wooden / rubber hammer. If the valves stick they need to be pulled apart and cleaned). Check your oil pressure at idle, if it is low (under 150) then most likely you have a clogged oil pick up filter. Not fixing this leads to brake booster, turbo and exhaust camshaft failure. Rayco have recently released an updated oil filter, use this to stop the fragments of metal from the exhaust camshaft circulating in the oil and causing later on serious issues. Regular oil changes aren't a guaranteed fix, I've seen worn exhaust cams on engines with only 40k kms on them and the oil serviced every 5k kms from new. From 2014 to 2016 ish Mazda had batches of bad cams, they issued a TSB about the issue. Bad cams, poor maintenance and poor engine design makes these engines a crap shoot. Some are good but many are disasters just waiting to happen. And cleaning the dpf yourself isn't recommended. The chemicals in the solutions used damage the rare metals in the catalytic convertor. The dpf can be removed with the engine still in the car, this applies to both FWD and AWD models.

    Thanks for helping us all with your knowledge ❤ one question please..I get the all the warning lights when I brake or drive downhill but they usually reset after I turn the engine off. Recently got a dpf warning and then a dpf malfunction light and dpf guys resolved it, cleaned the exhaust and even said that it wasn't a lot of sooth there to give the warning at all. Next day same thing happened and same light was on. They said if that happens then its probably just the sensor and its not dangerous. Now Im thinking should I just clear the code every time it happens as its just because of a bad sensor or can this still be an issue? Thank you!

      I suggest you find a mechanic to do a DPF delete both on the computer & mechanically in the engine. Change the Exhaust pressure sensor you’re good to go! Once the DPF lights up it’s majorly due to carbon build up due to dirty/low Quality Diesel you’re using.

    Delete the DPF- remap it. Also the turbo has a penny washer that fails and ruins the turbo by leaving the waste gate open. Cheers for the video. I think my Mazda 6 tourer is stunning but the 2.2 diesel is a con. Petrol or nothing especially based on the emissions lies by the government and how terrible the DPF is for diesels by cutting their life in half, how is it good for the environment to ruin a car so you have to buy an entire new car just by putting a part on that does nothing to help anything long term? Oh because more tax.

    Hi. I’ve replaced the pressure sensor with the metal one (old one burnt out), also replaced Intake Manifold pressure sensor (found that it was broken), scan reading shows P2262 and P0299 (turbo charger under boost). DPF deleted, intake manifold cleaned, but about to clean the EGR. Vehicle in limp mode and struggles to pull away while in between 1000 to below 3000 revs (stutters and kind of misfires). As soon as it gets to 3000 revs it picks up power but shortly after loses power again.

    • @cronk216
      @cronk216 Місяць тому

      This car has complicated logic from DPF and exhaust related issues. Mine has developed TPMS and SCBS warnings without limp mode recently. Mazda service advisor mentioned that these are common codes that come in bunches. I explored ABS, SAS module issues based on his advice. Expensive stuff, did not believe this was the cause, and kept driving with my sensor. Now, finally the DPF showed true and is blocked. I have to remove it and get it professionally flushed clean. I will de-carbon manifold, EGR and related pipes as well. So- Even those ABS and SAS module codes show up and looks like in my case a prelude for the DPF issue to come up.

    I'd like to say thanks for those P10471 DTC related videos. I had the dreaded code more than a year ago and at the time you were the only one to explain how to install the new exhaust pressure sensor, along with some Russian fellows whose language I do not speak. Even though you don't show the actual installation, the pictures and explanations were quite clear and your layout of components seemed way more rational and neat than what was shown elsewhere, and greatly helped me. I didn't have to shorten the hose, I found it to be just the right length. I badly damaged the bracket attachment thread when removing the bolt but found a solution to secure it anyway. My Mazda 6 has been running OK ever since. Cheers.

    I changed the oil filter and oil and regained consistent power. Mazda said the oil was fine but when I looked under the car it was clearly weeping out around the filter. The filter was blocked and the oil was putrid. It may also be worth changing the fuel filter sometime on the Diesels. The car may also lose power due to blowing out coolant and then overheating so make sure that you dont have any air trapped in the system from topping up coolant incorrectly or cracks in head gasket as this will displace coolant. Id drain it from the bottom then add coolant and head gasket sealer while its running. Also check to see if your thermostat is working by touching the top hose of the radiator and the bottom hose. After a 15 minute drive the top should be hot and the bottom should be warm not cold.

      Remove the old sensor, couple of nuts and remove the downhose. Remove the existing wire set to the sensor and install the new one. The downhose has to be about the same length as the old. Long nose needle pliers should do the trick, apply lubricant to the hose ends and they will slide in place easier.

    I watched this video and bought the Sensor Kit - SHY618W00 for £73 on Arnold Clark auto parts. Having fitted this over the weekend it’s removed all the fault codes I had and got the car accelerating how it should again. No doubt if done in a garage it would be £100s for this work so thank you very much for making this video. Trickiest part of the install for me was replacing the hose. I was tempted to just trim the original one by around an inch but decided against it. I’m a bit nervous of whether the cables are protected enough from the heat so plan to add a bit more protection to it. I should add that before replacing this sensor, I had previously replaced the DPF pressure sensor but that didn’t solve the issues.

    I usually say mazda make good engines, because they do. But this lump wasnt one of them. My dad has owned one since late 2018 and has had quite a few problems with it. Wastegate in the turbo assembly (they have 2) sheared off and took out the small turbo. Mazda changed the turbos under warrenty as it was considered a recall item at the time. Next, it decided to start dumping raw diesel into the engine oil. Cant remember what happened there but it was fixed at the time. Leaking engine oil from under the cylinder head and from the rocker cover. Mazda has declined to repair these leaks. Its latest fit of bother has been loosing coolant and yet another diesel leak from the injectors. Its currently leaking diesel from injector no.4, both from the return pipe and up past the injector. It leaks enough to cover the engine block, rocker cover, and gearbox in diesel, along with the existing oil leak. To the best of my knowledge, mazda does not cover these bits under warrenty anymore. The car is at 117,000 km. Very low mileage for such things to be happening if you ask me. I love japanese cars like mazda honda and toyota, seriously i do. But i have to say as a criticism to mazda, lads ye made a right f■ck up of an engine on this one. A shame because the cx5 is a beautiful car to drive and imo is quite luxurious inside and looks the part from the outside
