Satyricon : Behind-the-scene.
Various behind-the-scene snippets shot on the set of Fellini's Satyricon - one of his masterpiece and one of my all time favourite movie ever.
Notable feature : the mysterious Max Born singing Bob Dylan, handsome Hiram Keller humorously cursing the film maker Gideon Bachman and the shooting of Trimalchio's feast. Interesting to see the relatively hippie atmosphere on the set, it was 1968 after all...

Max Born's transformation to Gitone in Satyricon is amazing. Out of character without his tunic or his makeup, he's really not that pretty, but as Gitone in Satyricon, he transforms into an extremely beautiful boy. It's to Fellini's credit that he could have vitualized Max Born as the lovely Gitone.
Here he is today: ua-cam.com/video/3dpUKo12vmw/v-deo.html
@@ricarleite OMG! Thanks for sharing with us. I guess some of us have a brief blossom that lasts the spring and then its over! Is he straight? I always thought that he was gay.
@@rayarena879 He is not. He became a composer and music producer. Oliva Newton John is his cousin.
@@ricarleite Wow! He's, also, related to a famous scientist.
@@ricarleite He was so convincing as Gitone that I naturally assumed he was gay.
Max Born è il mio riferimento per l'interpretazione di questo pezzo, in questa versione è poesia pura. Se Bob Dylan deve qualcosa a qualcuno questi è Max Born.
5:00 is this Sharon Tate ? (who visited the film set with Roman Poalsky)
My Fever film betwen every one , , the very Best ever , My drean Movi , Gorgeous Film ok
Looks like a pretty relaxed work environment. Now we need to see some people crying in the dressing rooms as has been reported. Love Fellini films.
this is sureal ...can you see how people in 70-es were naturall beauty, just look at Max, Martin and Kiram's hairs , thats unbelivable and today we got young men - all bold and tatooed I have never seen such a beautiful people in my life , they were like Gods...
John Stromboly, Yes, we were.

It feels weird hearing "Giton" with such a masculine voice.
Surrealist masterpiece
This is fantastic, a real pleasure to see Fellini at work.
("We respectfully demand that You take us to Eden.") Space Jam --> 5:32
I wonder how Picard would have handled this?
It didn't show Spok playing the Lyrette.
Good music....impressive.
I agree that Deborah Downey has a fantastic voice!
"Did you make love last night? No? Then you lost the night!" What a line Only Fellini could make this line sound absolutely Not Sexist! lol
The line was; "....Then you lost a night."...Lol
I men, making love is sexist now?
Amazing Satyricon universe by Fellini
Damn, this cracked me up big time.
Chris Pine is the animal he breaks alot more hearts than you know.

I grok Spock...
Kevin Ryan I've no doubt that they'll find Eden - waiting will fill.

Space hippies did the Jay-Z triangle. what does it mean?
Charlie Edwards They're Loominadi
The show was quite remarkable for its social commentary, and the camp was fantastic. This episodes is a pretty even handed approach to addressing the counter-culutres of the sixties (or counter-cultures in general). There are truths about the establishment brought about by the counter culture (Stiiff man puttin' my mind in jail). There are also dangers when counter-cultures evolve religious missions with blind followers. (See Charlie Manson, the Altamont Music Festival Catastrophe, Jim Jones, etc.) This episode (and many others) was acutely dealing with contemporary social phenomenon in a way that Television just hadn't done and all while navigating regulations and censorship.
Well crack my knuckles and jump for joy! I got a clean bill of health from Dr. McCoy!
Rest in peace Mr. Spock.
Sulu: How do you know what I want? (balloon knot)
Wonder why the Illuminati guys ain't all over this show :D I see triangles all over the place
OMG, where's the rest of this?! After watching Satyricon three times I want to watch the entire behind the scenes! This is fascinating how down to earth behind the scenes is. I could hardly believe it when I watched this and found out that the main characters are American and English actors with American and English accents. Totally blown away! Who knew? Interesting to see them out of character. The contrast of the behind the scenes to the final film shows how much of an amazing fabrication of otherworldly fantasy and mythology Fellini has created. Genius!
Michael Comia The Documentary called:"Ciao Frederico" But this is the whole part about Satyricon
S equivocat P
Deela is one of my favorite's of kirk's women. I can see that maybe she could have been the villain of Star Trek 2. Just think Deela could have found the cure for her condition but still be stranded on the planet but she never chanced her ways, when your evil for so long it would be hard to just quit but one thing that she would never forget that will be on her mind for years Captain James T Kirk. One day the Reliant comes by checks out the planet and Cheekeof realize where they are and you can figure some stuff their. It would be a better excuse of Cheekeof remembering Deela than Khan as you know he wasn't in space seed or in a wink of an eye but in "wink of an eye" was in season 3 and Cheekeof was in that season quite often so that would be a better excuse. Well after taking the Reliant and learing of the Genesis project Deela sets off to conquer the galaxy but theirs on thing she wants more than anything including the galaxy and she wants this person at her side to rule by her and she would do anything including to kill for the person Admiral James T Kirk. Would that make a good story and would Deela be a good villian for Star Trek 2?
she appeared in several episodes of Bonanza with a southern accent just as adorable there too
If you check out Adams hand his finger is moving when he is supposedly dead.
"I am going to crack my knuckles and jump for joy / I got a clean bill of health from Dr. McCoy!" at 3:23 of the clip. LOL x a million !!! That's priceless! I don't care who you are, that's funny !!! Herbert !!! LOL !!!
Fellini Satyricon is definitively a masterpiece. Every shot is like a painting. Funny to see all the actors most of whom are British. I guess pot was part of the backstage pastime. Then again it is 1968/69 and is expected of the times.
John Lopez, Yes. Nobody would dream of that now.
I bet quark would love to give that guy an ear massage
stop saying Herbert, this is how Obamacare works, weirdos.
it is the will of landrieu
Kirk kissed many women but non like Nona
Charles Napier as a Space hippie thirty years in DS-9 he's a general Now that's acting!!!!!!!!
Holy shit... THIS IS STAR TREK? What the hell have I been missing out on?
Lee Bayrd at home going hint, hint THE ' NO WEIGHTESSNESS! HINT
When Nona demands of Kirk, "KISS ME" and they kiss totally oblivious of Tyree watching them. Its so sexy.
He reminds me of Quentin Tarrantino for some reason.
When Spock was telling Adam That their leader was sick,he should have used an illness with a shorter believable name.If I heard somebody say whatever it was Spaock said,I sure as hell wouldn't have believed it .
i am not herbert, hes not herbert,we reach,i remembber this when i was 10,the other night my wife a i were playing pool and partying here at the house, her maiden name is herbert,,,karen renee, shes goin on about ancestry and what not,and flash back, took me 20 min. to think of the show,i found this and played it for her,she tripped, never saw it before and busted up,shes gonna get alota use out of this one. oh herbert ,you are stiff, herbert herbert herbert herbert herbert herbert
Sulu: how do you know what I want... you're wasting your time hippie chick
LoL!
I wrote an entire TNG spoof of this episode. I had Neil from "The Young Ones" as one of the hippies and took an idea from the TNG episode "Brothers" where the android takes control of the ship.
This episode cracks me up no end . . . but the truth is, I love it. It does actually capture some of the spirit of that very interesting and unique social era. (I was there.)
In the 23rd century, DNA from a cryogenically frozen Bob Hope and Art Garfunkel was extracted and cultured, growing into Adam, the singin'ist, swingin'ist space hippie ever!
