Hi Everyone. I'm Chris, and I've started this channel to create more ASL content by narrating books for Deaf kids and interpreting important news in our world. My mood changes; some days, I will be more political and advocate for access for our Deaf community, and other days, it will be just about being creative and creating stories for all to enjoy.
I am an actor, consultant, and an interpreter. I completed my Ph.D. in Edinburgh, Scotland, and now reside in New York City. I am originally from Vermont. Most of my content will be in American Sign Language, but I may also add some International Sign and maybe some British Sign Language.

"Green Eggs and Ham" narrated in ASL by Christopher Tester
Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss is narrated in ASL by Christopher Tester.
This book was narrated into American Sign Language (ASL). This was created for all the Deaf kids staying at home while their schools are closed, and everyone must maintain social distancing. This pandemic will take a huge toll on Deaf kids in particular. I hope these videos will give more stories for Deaf children and for parents who are overwhelmed with managing children and work and life during the lockdown.

Gov Cuomo Announcement interpreted into ASL
Переглядів 1,6 тис.4 роки тому
I decided to create an ASL interpretation of Gov. Cuomo's announcement this morning, Friday March 20, 2020. I did not have a chance to review and prepare my translations. So there will be some errors in my ASL interpretation.
I am using your videos to improve my ASL. Children's stories are perfect, and yours are so well done. Thank you.
I wish there was reverse interpreting for my hard of hearing kids
hey ! im currently doing this book for my asl class and i was wondering if you still have the book slides video u used here its good quality and id be grateful :)
I"'m sorry, I was never notified of a comment here. I hope you found a solution. I believe I googled it or bought the E-book through the Apple store. I will take a look.
This video is one of the best ASL story time videos I have ever seen! It was extremely helpful and you do a great job of narrating! Thank you so much for making this video!

okay, let me see if I can retrieve the English text directly from Trevor Noah's link. I worked from his video's closed captioning.
That's good work! I see no English captions however from watching you sign I think you did very well. Just one question because I'm Deaf, too. Was the word immune ever used in the conversation between Noah and Dr. Fauci? I've been watching vlogs and posts for the ASL sign "immune".
Yes. at two points, one in reference to young people thinking they are immune to Coronavirus, but they are not, just lower risk of having serious medical issues. (unless they have underlying health issues). The original link with the closed captioning and the full video itself is in the description.
No audio at all. But appreciate the interpretation and captioning. But still hard to comprehend with captioning on one side and Interpreting on the other and no audio. Helps some people.
Sorry about that, I didn't realise I turned off the sounds when i recorded my interpretation. Normally I leave it on. I will be mindful to be sure to record the sound when in create the interpretation. You can go to the original video link in the description below to see his video which has closed captioning and sounds.
cute! I love your sign for watermelon. I'm going to replace the old traditional sign with yours. I will share it with my ASL students.
Loved this video - can’t wait to share with my kids tomorrow!! Please keep creating content!
Mariza Rebmann thank you. I do have a few more stories planned! Enjoy!
Loved your story... I will share it with my colleagues and parents of Deaf children I work with. Looking forward to more. Thank you Christopher. Beautiful!
MYL Inc thank you! I hope they will enjoy this story. It’s my friends’s daughter’s favourite book. I plan to create more in the next few weeks.
Thanks again Chris!!!!!!!
Good job for ViV ( video in video ) as dual video in one screen. 👍👍
Thanks! the magic of Screen Recording in QuickTime. :)
I sent an e mail to the Gov's office about the lack of an interpreter. THANKS CHRIS!!!!!!
