    Jaume its Sept. 3 - I did not see an email on the channel description, can you add it on there or what is it? Its just easier to be consistent as this latest response took another month to arrive. When did you get back from Catalonia and was there any air conditioning in the house or how did you keep cool? Without any tourists and English not being widely spoken - how fluent were you in conversing? I liked how you said you preferred running bare foot in your latest upload - but there's a safety issue with running bare foot, you know... sharp objects? How often did you do that in Catalonia, and was going without a top better also? I feel that's just getting unwanted sunburn but had you been indoors it'd be good though. So still with fitness...you said you'd want to stick with one art - can you at least check out the jujitsu gym at least once to get a feel for how grappling goes? Believe it or not... grappling is a more useful skill than boxing. You also overlooked this - why are boys so into grappling and submitting each other? I look forward to your thoughts on this since I'll never really get boys and their ideas. I prefer fall and spring and to some extent the summer - I am not a fan of the summer honestly - the heat isn't my thing nor are insects and the long days - I'd much rather have fresher air that the cold weather brings where there isn't poor air quality which is always the case in the summer months. How is New York like in the summer, and doesn't taking the subway get quite heated? After having been in Manhattan and London, I feel the subway system is far superior to what New York has. For starters in the UK, the trains are generally cleaner and have air conditioning. The bus isn't as fast as the subway though right? Also I trust some of your friends are from the Hamptons and areas from outside the city? The suburbs are quite peaceful and less hectic - I also am from a suburb. Lastly, well generally when sleeping - is shirt or no top better and what do you mean depends on the situation? I only ask since I attended a church camp retreat and we stayed in like cabins. At lights we saw the boys side and most if not all of them were without tops for sleeping - and I was like - why or what is the benefit of sleeping that way? Girls generally don't. And Jaume - you are aware the nofap thing is just a fad right? We are all humans, and humans can't shy from doing things even that - sure you may convince yourself that its not good to do but hello... as teens - well - need I go on more? I think you get the idea. Relapses will occur involuntarily or not and I wonder of all the boys who do uploads on this specific topic - are they just bragging but doing it despite saying they stopped? I'll never know but Jaume - but human nature and things like that align with what most teens will do myself included. Seen any good movies?

      Yeah, I'll put it at the end of this comment. I arrived from Catalonia about a week and a half ago and no we didn't have any air conditioning in the house and to keep it cool you just open the windows, because it's high in the mountains heat is not really a problem. Yeah, I speak perfect Catalan so that wasn't a problem. And yeah, it's pretty dangerous but most of the exercise and running (the majority of barefoot running were sprints) I did all in my pretty big back yard so there was no problem with sharp objects. Yeah, I want to stick to one art because it's better to put all my energy into one and learn it better (it's also cheaper) but I will give BJJ a chance because they give out free classes. I think I already responded to that question but it's just enjoyable to throw someone on the floor with just your strength and skill. I enjoy the whole year, but I prefer colder weather. NYC in the summer is alright, might be too hot sometimes but with AC on it's fine. The subway is really hot especially stations like Union Square or Fulton street. Yeah the subway is way faster than the bus and none of my friends are from the Hamptons, they are all either from the city or Europe. By situation, I mean temperature, because sleeping without shirts is really fresh. I get your point, truly and I appreciate you bringing out your ideas, and I agree it is a human thing to do but I still don't think it's right. Relapses only happen if you want to and besides being something that if you build self-discipline you can control. Some studies show how it can affect your health negatively. ai.hubermanlab.com/s/Q39LNB-6 Movie wise I don't watch a lot but I did watch James Bond Skyfall not too long ago. Thanks for responding and here is my email: jbiarnesmas@gmail.com

    Aug. 23 - you last answered on July 24 - what's your emial? Make it a goal to check the studio or your emails regularly please - I know there's a tendency to not want to regularly but when we first started connecting, you'd answer a few times a week and I believe at one point you also replied on a daily basis too and this was back in January. Not answering posts is not a good idea of detox honestly, since you do run this channel and upload to it, connecting with those who watch the content is also beneficial. Do you not check your email? Notifications get sent there as well. All this talk of stepping back into nature and what not - yes I have been doing the same thing seeing as there's no class to attend but that doesn't preclude me from checking posts or keeping up with what's happening in the news and so on. Perhaps you ought to be more disciplined in finding an even balance and not adopt one extreme over another when it comes to self improvement? Even balance is what I am all about and as a rising senior, I am sure you can be successful at this. How long are you in Catalonia for and is English widely spoken there? Also how have you been keeping entertained without the big city or the friends around, and I trust the weather is quite warm? I spent the early parts of summer down in Sydney and it was nice going to Australia since its their winter unlike our summer since the seasons are reversed so having early sunsets before five and temps equitable to our fall or spring on the west coast have been comfortable. I dislike summer and anything to do with the season including those extra long days. What sort of gymnastics rings are you training with, and have you been enjoying the whole working out bare foot experience or do you still prefer socks? Also what happened to getting back into grappling and martial arts over the summer? Your knee is obviously recovered by now so is the plan to start martial arts on your return while also going to class? Grappling is good to have and why are boys so into grappling and submitting each other? I look forward to your thoughts on this since I'll never really get boys and their ideas. How is taking the bus around the city simpler than the subway? I am confused by the NYC subway and its not the cleanest system either. I trust some of your friends are from the Hamptons and areas from outside the city? The suburbs are quite peacful and less hectic - I also am from a suburb. On the nofap thing - stopping for a year with relapses I bet; its human nature for both boys and girls. Besides I don't doubt the improvement you've seen but having it for stress relief or simply to relax is what drives most to do it? Again, WebMD and health journals online on this subject - not infleuncers talking to teen boys. Is sleeping with a shirt better in your opinion?

      My email should be in my yt page. During the summer I tried working on a different project but at the end realized that it was best to focus on wha truly is important and what brings the most joy to me which is making videos so I am back at it again with a strict schedule. You are right making a community with the comments is very important and until now I didn't fully see the value in it. True in some balance is a skill we must master and I do think I am getting to a point were now I do kinda have some balance. I was in Catalonia for two months and no, besides tourists you don't really hear anyone speak english. To be honest I am just very entertained being in nature, spending time working out outside and connecting with the world (I sill have friends there and did hang out with them pretty often, because at the end of the day socializing is still part of self improvement). Yeah I do prefer other seasons but nothing beats a good hot and sunny day in the pool to be honest. I was training with wood rings hanging from a tree and yes I am going back into martial arts now that I am back in the city and the gyms are here, although it is quite expensive so i might just stick to one art. I don't fully know but I think there is something really fun about being able to throw another person in the ground just with your force. I just think taking the bus is simpler because you get on and you get off, there is no need to walk around a station. Yeah its not the best subway but still very reliable. I just think that there are better and healthier ways to relax and cool down after a long day. Shirt on or off depends on the situation and temperature. Thanks again for responding and for your patience

    @JaumeBiarnesMas July 22 - this is SHORT - I get that you're busy but procrastinating isn't a good thing and it helps to reply Jaume - you were always on the ball before - its not that great to be overlooked. You said you'd reply a week ago IN THE MORNING - and that didn't happen, again I too have a packed summer but I always make time to answer a post. How do you feel about senior year? In a years time - I trust you'll be college bound or at least have some idea as to what college you'll attend. Some also say senior year has less work than eleventh, what are your thoughts on that? It sounds like an eventful summer as you'll be returning to Spain - Catalonia but what is there to train when there? You already train locally in the city... Well your dopamine detox really is an exercise in perseverance I guess - though with the friends you have told - what are their thoughts on dopamine? You do realize that once you start working, you will not have much time to give such concepts a second though especially in regard to self improvement since if it was such a concept, then normal people who have to pay the bills and work would be on it also but unfortunately in practice - self improvement is not as easy as it seems and its really mostly teen boys who tend to preach about this kind of thing. What makes you think the self improvement things you're doing now will carry over to you being an adult? You advised that its difficult as an adult - but if one has a spouse and family, how are they supposed to find to to improve themselves? live in a suburb of a city but never in the city itself - what is most hectic about it? Also have you gone to the Hamptons or what sort of surburbs do you visit? Having a yard for barbeque and outdoor space is good - a city just seems congested. Between the bus and subway, which do you prefer, and why ride a subway with friends? The times I've visited NYC - the subway is a lot more confusing than that of London, Washington DC or any other major city mainly due to express vs local and the seemingly changing routes. In blog nine it looked like you and your friend had fun at kick boxing but does he know grappling also? Why didn't you guys record any grappling? Do more of your indoor workouts bare foot if you prefer feeling the floor? On the nofap upload since again it seems to be a trend on the site, but again - one can't help human nature - its a sleep aid; Web MD says its for stress relief. I am one to believe the medical sources.

      Hey, I know its been long I apologize for taking so long to respond, I haven't looked a youtube studio since I last wrote you. I have been taking a step back into nature and making sure I maximize my health before I get back to serious work. To be fair I am both exited and a bit terrified of senior year, I mean its the last year before collage and I know many things will change so thats both good and not so good. I am currently in Catalonia in a small town in the middle of the mountains and I train with gymnastic rings, not doing much martial arts but thats fine, I am also running and getting back to my marathon prep. I think everyone has time to take care of their mental and physical health, dosen't matter if you are in school if you are working a job, there is always time for self improvement it just depends on what mindset you have and whether you really care about it or not. Self improvement is not something that you do for a while and then you move on, its (to me) a way of living were you are constantly trying to get better and it dosen't matter what situation you are in life you always have the opportunity to improve. When you get to adult hood and maybe you have a family with kids and everything, you still have to look for places to improve it can be anything, mental health, physical health any of the parts of self improvement people should do their entire life. To me the most hectic part of the city, specially nyc is that it never stops, there is always things going on 24/7 and there is no quiet time, for example in the small town that I am staying at right now, at night if you go out there are places with complete darkness and no sound except for birds and certain insects. Me personally I am more of a bus person just because its simpler but the subway really is amazing because it gets you anywhere in the city. On the sparring we didn't do much grappling because we didn't have mma gloves and had to use boxing ones and they are very hard to grapple with. Well now I train outdoors in nature everyday and usually barefoot and on grass so to me that is as good as it gets. On the nofap I personally don't think its good, it distracts you, its also a waste of time and its not like you can't stop doing it because of human nature, I personally stopped over a year ago and the improvement I have seen has been amazing. If it helps you sleep there are better and healthier things you can do to fall asleep faster and have higher quality sleep. Thank you for your patiences I will probably respond once or twice a week because those are the only times I open youtube studio. Thank you and have a great day.

    Jaume its Mar. 31 - Essays generally are not hard in my view but depending on the topic or material involved can be a bit tedious to write. What sorts of essays do you have to do in eleventh and specifically for which class? I trust you're good at writing since come college from what I hear - most of the assignments are essays. How does Jaume feel about college anyway and do you know what you want to go into yet? I am open to all possibilities at present but I am thinking something in business or commerce. You're from New York right? One of your uploads was in Manhattan - lots of great colleges there. I'm in Washington state so not as event as the east coast. When does your spring break start? We go back after Easter Monday. Wait, I had the impression you had registered to run in an actual city marathon since that was what it came across as. Why is it you're running a marathon? If you're simply doing a solo run around the city then maybe refer to it as a run or a jog since to most - a marathon is a huge event with thousands of runners, sponsorships and media coverage. Its good you're into running though... perhaps join the track team? I do track specifically long jump and the sprints but I am really just doing it for the participation aspect since after graduating one would be hard pressed to be part of any organized sports. It doesn't replace my love of martial arts though. Is the Kick boxing class a teen boys only class, and what about BJJ? I am in a teen class for both and our instructor runs it as more of a glorifed PE class since its teens only. How do you feel about grappling another person, and have you ever rough housed / wrestled with friends? It seems boys seem more into that in middle or in ninth but either way its good to know how to submit and grapple someone I guess. Influencers like Hamza really are just there to give teen boys the impression that its not good to be themselves and often times its boys who lack a brother or are unsure of themselves so he and other influencers fill the void. How often do you do cold showers anyway and besides that, what other self improvement habits do you follow? I don't really tune in much to any self improvement type teachings since I feel everyone ought to be themselves within reason and who says one can't relax and just take things easy at the end of a busy day of class or work right? That's my view at least and what is with these influencers talking about the whole (no fap) thing - I mean from a health class stand point - if one is going to do it, then one is going to do it. We can't control free will - and everyone is human. That's all I will say - lol you evaded this in your last post. On being bare foot - how do you enjoy being bare foot on the mats anyway and has it been a bit awkward or self conscious at all? The mats generally will not be that clean for that reason.

    • @JaumeBiarnesMas
      @JaumeBiarnesMas 7 місяців тому

      True, essays are not hard, just time-consuming. I usually just write essays for my English class but occasionally for history too. When it comes to college I am open to all possibilities but for now, studying business seems like the route I am taking. I am from Barcelona but I do live in NYC yeah, my break is starting in two weeks I believe, but because of easter we just had a four-day weekend. I must have not expressed properly but no, I am just running a solo marathon, and I chose to do it because it seems like a nice challenge, I am just going to be running the 26.2 miles around the city alone or maybe with a friend but that's it. Yeah, I do have to say I love both fighting and running the same. Both are really good for your body and mind. Currently, I stopped training because of a knee injury I had while running but when I do go back to training in martial arts it will be both Muay Thai and BJJ, also maybe even boxing. I have done grappling with some friends and I just think it's a really nice way to compete without having to punch each other. I honestly disagree I think that influencers like Hamza are there to help people realize that there is more to life than videogames and junk food, that is kinda also what I am trying to do with this channel because believe it or not a lot of people live like that, many people have very miserable lives and influencers like Hamza have helped them get out of such situations. I really just practice what I preach in the channel and if I do start doing a new habit and I see some results then I will make a video about it. I agree, people do have the right to do whatever they want to do but sometimes you are in such a bad situation that you kind of have to put feelings aside and just work to pull yourself out of that situation. Yeah, you are right the mats are not always clean but I do like taking my shoes off from time to time and doing exercise barefoot. Thanks again for the comments really makes me happy to respond, have a good day.

    Feeling like doing the work is a blessing. Don’t take that for granted. Most of the time, you won’t feel like doing the hard work, but still doing it, still doing what you need to do, regardless of how you feel, is what a real man does.

    Sunday - Haven't heard back in a week its Mar. 17 - yeah I wonder why as of recent you've been taking up to a week to respond? I mean on your more recent uploads - you're quite engaged there so again it helps to have notifications enabled since I only ever respond on this upload usually within a day or two. On social media - its preferable to keep connections on here at present - it works and I am not the biggest fan of changing up something that works. Are you big on social media? I'd have thought that with this whole self improvement drive you're on that you'd be limiting that unless you're not listening to influencers on self improvement? This brings up another point - it seems that Hamza only appeals seemingly to high school aged boys and influencers like that seem to indirectly imply 'its not okay to be yourself' hence he gets all these boys hooked on the message with the inability to come to their own conclusions. While I don't doubt that some of what he and other influencers say, I can't help but also realize that he monetizes off the content and knows what to say and when to say it in order to play the algorithm to get more people just to watch him lol, its as simple as that you know? What do you do to find your own ways around self improvement? While its good that pushing oneself is okay - question becomes why is it you enjoy the days more when you push yourself and yet not enjoy the days where you chill? Obviously I think mindset is a big thing but you do have a different mindset in eleventh than you did in first or second - so its also a given your mindset will change in a decade when you look back at eleventh. The concept of self improvement works well for those who aren't even in tune with it honestly because my though is that if it was such a trend, then everyone ought to be doing it - not just high school aged boys. Are you worried about much? I try to not worry myself with too much but then again I do jiujitsu so that's a way I can channel my frustrations out. What was your favorite PE activity in the first two years of high school and would you still consider taking PE in twelfth if given the choice? Its a fun class to go back to and sports are more fun than lifting since again - after graduating, one can join a gym all they want and lift but one can't replicate a game of floor hockey or dodge ball anymore after graduating or one would be hard pressed to. Wow, why a marathon? I work out bare foot at jiujitsu obviously but its just warm ups and things - and I'd say its a good way to do basic workouts if one is on a mat I guess. What workouts have you done bare foot and do you not like it? BJJ is bare foot as are all martial arts so it takes some getting used to.

      My apologies for taking so long to respond, this past few weeks I have been focusing more on school and trying to get my grades up. Hamza does indeed target young teenage boys, probably around 13-25 or something like that, and as you said, he is really good at monetizing and he knows very well what to say to get people hooked. Still, I do love the guy and have learned a lot from him. What I mean when I say I find my way around self-improvement I mean that I learn from many sources such as books, podcasts, and videos and I put practical habits together, ( I don't just watch a simple video telling you what to do). When it comes to enjoying the days I just find it more pleasant and satisfying when I have completed a hard day of work compared to a day where I relaxed, you know? I do think my mindset around many things will change in the future but for now, I am doing what feels right to me. Everyone has their worries, I too worry about many things but I journal ways to not worry about them and I know how to not let my emotions get in the way of making the proper decision in a difficult circumstance. I would have to say that my favorite sport that we played in PE was probably soccer, it was really fun and we did a mini-tournament which was very enjoyable. I chose a marathon first of all because I love running, and thought it would be a nice way to challenge myself, and second because It's a big achievement compared to lifting a certain weight or doing so many reps in the gym you know? Well right now I started going Muai Thai and that is barefoot, like you said it took a bit to get used to but I do love it. Thanks a lot for the comments and I apologize for taking so long to respond. From here on out I will try to decrease the time that it takes me to respond, Have a nice day.
