@@indigo1296 this is very pretentious in its framing, but I don’t think in intent. considering I give Nami, Zoro, Sanji (who’s shortcoming is barely present at this point) and especially Luffy considerable amounts of slack for their nonsense. Once or twice an episode, when it’s not every episode is disingenuous A variety of comments are fine but attacks on character are caveman conduct, as well as any really malice that redirects a conflict with a creator and their interpretation, to the creator and the viewer. People, just like you have even if it’s for the sake of a wide frame of examination - take it there and it’s shameful. Like what you like, I dislike what I dislike and we coexist. No one reserves the right to escalate that to malice and claim they’re acting with ANY level of common sense of decorum I removed the rest of my thoughts respectfully because I think you were trying to be sensible, but you trying to get your reads off on me is no less out of line than the other things people are doing so keep that to self Edit: In regards to her mood on Usopp, we also talk a lot off camera and I NEVER started talking crazy about Usopp until her opinion was established, just like Luffy. If I was going to do that with anyone it was going to be Buggy and Tashigi but I largely stay out of those too - if we’re being honest the only negative agendas I’ve pushed forward are Wapol and Mr.3 - which people understandably make a big deal of. I’m about as impartial as I can be and the explanation of Usopps actions when they’re positive is more grace than I want to give, but I do so anyways. The lack of grace that people are willing to give that he might SUCK to some people is not my problem. Especially since as highlighted above, I stay out of the way of her formative opinions, expressly. Even giving him more credit than she does often. Plus if we want to look at the layout - she likes Zoro and Nami more than I ever would, and Sanji much less than I would have at this point. So regardless of whatever else you need to take from this - none of y’all should feel comfortable with any of that speculation. While I don’t think you were being malicious and instead were casting a wide net of things to consider, that will not be considered nor do I entertain those people’s feelings or thoughts. It’s out of bounds and we’re both willing to cast a smaller net to not attract that behavior

The reason you've rubbed people the wrong way is because you're doing the same as what you're complaining about. *You* started bringing special attention to the "It's okay to hate Usopp" thing once you received negative feedback on it, and you're also assigning qualities to the people who present an opposing viewpoint on it whether they engage with you in good manner or not. You seem like an intelligent fellow so I'm sure you're well aware that the loudest population aren't usually the brightest, so why are you obsessing over the decorum of the bottom? Sure, it's not okay but why are you letting the common idiot get to you? Just block and move on. You're feeding into it and your insistence on interpreting negative feedback as personal attacks isn't doing yourself any good. I'm just going to point out that I do not hold nor represent the same viewpoint as the last commenter that opposed your opinion on Usopp. I don't think I even presented my own views towards him in the previous comment, but here I am labelled as one of the "People just like me". I am more neutral on Usopp than most in the comments here. I like usopp because his glaring flaws are what makes the strawhats feel like a true found family. We all have annoying qualities and yet we don't give up on a family member because of one quality. They love him despite his flaws and in turn he reciprocates that towards theirs. He adds to the narrative even though his actions may not often contribute to the active plot. Remember that you're the content creator. We see what you put in the video you upload and in your comment section and respond to that. Perhaps you did present your opinions as neutrally as possible in your off cam discussions with her, but what we see in the clip is what people are interpreting. Much like you have elected to omit some of your response to my comment, if you had clipped out the parts where you were venting your frustrations the comments would most likely have eventually blown over and moved on. I'm going to reiterate. I think what you had here is great. Your grandma is sweet and reaction content is always enjoyable to watch when the viewer is as open to the content as her. I wouldn't have bothered giving you my feedback if I didn't care for the content and its future. Take it as you will. All the best. If you think the value of reaction is in bringing forth criticism, then go ahead. There are ways to present controversial opinions without fanning the flames, but you have not chosen them. When you do that, there will be responses from all manner of people at all levels of education. It doesn't matter whether it is "acceptable" to you or not. In a public forum when you put your ideas out there there will be responses, good or bad. Do you think the "Usopp is great" videos don't get their share of "Usopp sucks" comments? The internet's greatest value is it's accessibility. I understand it's frustrating to deal with low quality comments and It's fine you don't want to play the bigger guy, but it's also perfectly fine for people to think less of you because you continue to engage yourself to those comments despite complaining about it. You don't look better jumping in and wrestling in the mud with the pigs. You just come out looking like one of them. I'm gonna quote part of your response and switch the stances and see if that's something you consider "acceptable": I think Usopp is amazing, I will think Usopp is amazing (most likely unless Oda becomes a different person) and if my friends doesn't I'll be surprised. And you, granime, have to hold that. If you don't want to we have nothing to speak about. You ARE producing the same empty points, and as "unaccepting" of opposing opinions as the commenters you complain about. If you are so antagonistic toward opposing opinions and give the same empty statements a pass when it's in support of your opinions, who's *really* the one seeking the "echo chamber" dopamine feedback loop? The main thing I'm even trying to extend here, is that without being openly critical - there's no value to this type of content unless people want a dopamine feedback loop. When it's not said in a way that's far above the charity, people react - often in a way that's out of bounds for them. It under no circumstances matters how I feel about what someone likes, that's unacceptable. In a lot of instances throughout this experience, that's how this has gone. If however, things becomes a direct engagement instigated on my behalf, that's an entirely different circumstance for which how this timeline played out does not meet the requirements. What we got is a strong reaction to an opinion, a reaction which wasn't at all proportional to the situation. There's no reason for me to de-escalate or back down there. I think Usopp sucks, I will think Usopp sucks (most likely unless Oda becomes a different person) and if my grandma doesn't I'll be surprised. And people have to hold that. If they don't want to we have nothing to speak about. And to be CLEAR, there's other characters who have received an equal or worse reaction in other series, but at least so far I'm afraid to say this is an exclusively One Piece issue. Certainly wasn't an issue for thinking Kobeni from Chainsaw Man sucks, which I said outright immediately. This also isn't an uncommon opinion, the main body of the One Piece fanbase has become increasingly difficult to deal with overall relative to any criticism/dissent for a few years now. I don't mind disagreeing with people - educated or thought out conversations are great. I don't mind if grandma loves Usopp (she doesn't - but again would be good discussion), but I don't WANT those people watching our content. Specifically, the people i'm talking about absolutely said things on several videos including deleted threads on this one that were personal attacks. I shouldn't have to pacify or be the bigger person at that point, nor should it even get there. Rubbing people the wrong way had little to do with me escalating and a lot of people acting however they wanted thinking it would fly. It's no secret to suggest I could have entirely ignored that group of people, and I don't disagree that while unpleasant that probably would have been optimal - although distasteful. I have no qualms with you but if you feel those people should be welcomed and tolerated I have to strongly disagree. I'm good on that.
