My money’s on your camera being set to auto-exposure adjustment. It’s never a smooth transition between exposure settings and this is what causes the momentary flicker that you perceive as a ‘flash’. I do a lot of sunrise/sunset Timelapse photography and in order to accommodate the many exposure setting transitions that occur between day & night, we use specialise ‘de-flickering’ software to iron-out the numerous ‘flickers’ that occur in the Timelapse sequence. Google ‘Timelapse deflicker’ for a better understanding of the cause of this camera ‘exposure transition’ phenomena.
