Would That I is a song that brings me great comfort, so I use it to help me fall asleep sometimes. The chorus would sometimes startle me awake because of how loud it is in comparison to the rest of the song, so I definitely appreciate this version. And yet it also made me realize how much I love those parts too, for as much as I love this version it's still not quite the same without the chorus

I really do think the lyrics and guitar are some of the best he's ever written on this track, but I agree about the chorus being jarring, I've always felt really iffy about like - almost like the chorus was made because it needed a chorus rather than really fitting with the way the song feels
