Bin here 20 years. First lots of big Canadian cities have rivers so not a big novelty . People are not very friendly, unless you grew up here and have lots of relatives. One of the worst crime rates in Canada. HARSH winters. Road maintenance is easily one of the worst in Canada. Economy is not strong unemployment pretty high. Prices in houses are already getting pretty high. Have to be careful for badly built homes which there are no shortage of especially if you want cheaper price. If I had to do it over again there are a lot better places to buy a house. I would look in some of the over looked quiet USA states homes which are cheaper than sask.

VOC'c? Mold? Wind resistance? Fire safety? Bug resistant solid structures? Triple glazed windows and high energy standards? Zero internal sound control? Carpeted badroom floors? Or just the look of a home but no safety, security, healthy indoor? Give me a brake..or ask for my SH4 home architecture (safe, healthy H4 European energy design, noncombustible and wind resistant too..).

I have friends that live there…and the snow plows never or rarely come to clear the snow in the winter ❄️

I was in TO and then WPG, but I wanted to find some peace of mind from the overall pressure of a big city atmosphere, and as an artist, I picked a home on Kijiji that I saw in lower Saskatchewan just past the Manitoba border, I bought it outright with no mortgage for 60K it's a beautiful sized hime with a garden and large clean garage, the only drawback is driving a short distance to the grocery store, other than that, I have running spring water that's free, so my monthly $ output is Sask power Sask energy Sask mobile and food costs, and that's it. Car insurance and no more, so I'm living peacefully like a king, with beautiful sunrises, sunsets, fresh, fresh air, after living in big cosmopolitan cities, you appreciate the fresh air. The animals and birds are beautiful, and with a RV Motorhome, you can travel anywhere you desire, or fly away for vacations anywhere in the world. The best move I've made. So consider Saskatchewan as a means to cut back on your cost of living and retire in pleasure. The house next door to me is going for 30K so why not get away from the big city madness and move to Saskatchewan, you won't regret it.

I live in Brighton, and I really like it here. The downside is the weather...... the winters are long /cold/brutal. You'll want a 4x4 vehicle... I saw many people get stuck in Brighton this winter. Also, the transition seasons are long. You are lucky to get 3 months of good stable weather (late July, Aug, Sept, Early Oct).

Hi , can you pls put something about the studio apartment or hostel kind of thing in Saskatoon

Saskatoon truly is a beautiful and affordable city. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. One of the things we appreciated most was how short the distances between places were. Coming from YYZ, it was a refreshing change. However, there were some aspects that caught us by surprise, things nobody really mentions. For instance, the limited daily flights were inconvenient and quite expensive. Also, when it came to finding employment, it seemed like knowing someone was almost a necessity, unless you were content with minimum wage positions. Fortunately, we were able to telework, which worked out well for us. Yet, despite our desire to stay, landing an interview for a job in Saskatoon proved to be nearly impossible without connections. It's a shame that small-town dynamics sometimes mean you have to have an 'in' with a company to even be considered. But overall, our time in Saskatoon was memorable, and we're grateful for the experience.
