Thanks, actually my original flight was delayed so Air India offered me reroute to Mumbai free of charge and with premium upgrade.

Thank you 🙏, so I did travel with two kids and was comfortable journey through premium economy. 1. I think you can feed kids before journey so they won't feel hungry as airline will take time to serve the food in aircraft ( food is good ) 2. Premium economy seats are good but only problem is hand rest doesn't move ( like in economy you can lift the hand rest to use continuous seats ). I never carried car seat ( rather used bassinet) saw people struggled with car seats 3. Seat does recline as usual 4. I never carried any extra accessories for kids. While they were infant we used bassinet and as toddler complete seat. 5. We feed our kids complete meal an hr or ~90 mins before take off so they play, get tired and ready to sleep after take off

@californianmarathi pt.2 saw people struggle with car seats- that's a good tip. So car seat need not be carried. How did u make the toddler sleep in the premium economy seat? Sitting?? I saw inflatable bed option or seat extenders for toddlers (~3yrs+) so that it's a bit comfy for them to sleep. Would u recommend those in Air India premium economy flight?

@revathyiyer6986 Yes looking at people carrying car seats and struggle when baby cries is tough. Toddler slept on side on own chair while seating leaned towards reclined seat. Honestly don't find need to buy anything specific for toddlers. Flight is just 15hrs direct if there's layover and all kids might get cranky. It didn't happen with my kids. I traveled four times in same flight with kids

Yes it does have small leg-rest which i personally didn't find useful, but for average height people, it might be helpful.

I don't think so... Delhi / Bangalore routes from SFO are still old aircraft... only Mumbai route had upgraded delta aircraft

Yes seats can be reclined, there was leg support as well, both of which I wasn't able to clearly take video of because of darkness.

I bought regular economy with whatever online price offered but on airport they upgraded to Premium Economy so I didn't pay for it, so not sure what was the price offered but you can check it out on their website

I assume you are flying the same route as mine ( which shouldn't disappoint you 😊 ), but can't guarantee for any other Air India route from or to USA from India

Only NY to Bombay, SFO to Bombay and SFO to Bengaluru use these planes. Everything else is the older setup.

No for Delhi flight is older aircraft, afaik when I traveled,only SFO-BOM had new aircraft. It was decent, minor rain ( not drenching ), weather was cloudy and little cold, but much better than summers

Namaskar 🙏 Yes seats had foot rest and leg rest which reclined a bit. But arm rest was stationary which was not moving so we were not able to convert 4 seats into one long seat which we usually can do in economy where arm rest is movable

@californianmarathi thanks. I was looking at some premium eco options from ny to bom/pnq, but it's 2x the price of eco & I did not see the foot/leg rest in your video. So I was wondering if its even worth the twice price.

@sidthecoolfrosty bdw this flight is not between NYC to BOM, this new aircraft is only from SFO to BOM, unless they have planned a new aircraft recently

Not completely, pretty much same as economy, were able to slant slightly.

Thank you, I think it tried to show it for few seconds but there wasn't enough light to get the video as most of the flight time was dark and wouldn't want to record it in light because some passengers may not like it

Totally depends upon which aircraft is assigned on that day. There are two aircrafts for the same route ( 777-200LR / 777-333 ), agree both are old aircrafts but my experience wasn't that bad while coming back to sfo from Delhi. Yes foot rest was available, I wasn't able to take video because it was too dark. Regarding arm rest yes, it's immovable( could not be lifted like regular economy seats )

Yeah I don't know why AI have older aircrafts on their busiest route ( SFO to Delhi, SFO to Bengaluru )

@@californianmarathi I think it will change very soon. Air India will get 6 brand new a350 aircraft this year which will replace the older 777 aircraft

Seriously looking forward to those, it's really amazing route to reach even non metros in India from US
